Its proximity to Moonee Ponds rail station made Melbourne quickly accessible and MP itself had a diversity of restaurants with cuisines to satisfy most palates. There were supermarkets and other shops for those who preferred to buy in to cook at the cottage. Anyone wishing to visit Melbourne and who like a homely and quiet environment could not possibly do better than spend their time at askrigg cottage.
