“Our Home away From Home” Two of us spent a week in The Orange House. Claudia (the owner) met us at the airport and provided the taxi ride to the house. From the moment we walked through the door we loved the place. There was a view of the water from almost every window. The kitchen / living room is bright and sunny. The house was very clean and has a great large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we woke to a view of the water each day. The deck was our favorite spot. We looked forward to coming home (after our days of adventures) to a cocktail and the wonderful sunsets from our comfy adirondack chairs. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from town. I would recommend walking the side road closest to the water to avoid the taxi traffic. There is a large grocery store less then 2 blocks away that has just about everything you may need. Claudia lives next door and is always available to answer any questions you may have. Another great source of informatiom was our taxi driver Marlin. He can pick you up and drop you off right at your door. He also has good advice about where to eat and places to see. This was a great place to hang your hat and relax to the sound of the lapping water all around. Hope to come back...

““A lovely Home - just perfect for a caribbean splash!”” Wow. Just so amazing. We had the best time. We did all the great adventure trips around the Bocas Islands and felt home in this lovely house. Everyday we played a little ping pong at the appartement and swam in the beautiful pool. The Owners Boy's were really helpful and kind! Unfortunatly we didn't have the time to use the kayaks but we loved to cruize around the island with the two bikes we received from the owners. It was absolute paradise! Thanks a lot for this! ps. for everyone who thinks colon is just a party island - in Villa Paraiso you don't feel any of the town's nightlife just if you want, you can take a little bike ride into town, which is really refreshing and have a drink or two or three :-)

“Best Vacation!” I asked each of my kids to sum our stay at O'Cottage and they each yelled "Best vacation!" My wife agreed! It was great to take a break from the whirlwind of kids' activites to spend a week here in peace and quiet. The location on the lake is easily one of the best. We loved waking up to the water and going to bed after the campfire dwindled. The house is spacious and tidy and the outdoor shower is a treat. The owner is quick to respond to questions and the booking process was easy. Would I recommend this place to a friend? No! I want it all for myself! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with my family!

“Island Living!” From the first cup of great Belizean coffee on the veranda each morning to falling asleep by the sound of rustling palm leaves, our 2 week stay at the tree house was extremely relaxing. We loved the long walks on the miles of sandy beaches, stopping for a lunch or drinks along the way. Every walk was a different adventure. During our first walk we met a local on bicycle selling fish and lobster tails. He then periodically came by the house with his fresh catch which we cooked on the grill. Eating fish that was caught only hours before is epicurean delight! Our arrival was made easy by armando who picked us up at San Pedro airport and transported us by boat to the tree house. Before boarding the boat, he took us to a supermarket where we bought our initial supplies. The ride on armando's boat through the mangroves and along the ambergris Caye was a wonderful introduction to the area. The house is well situated near a costal water taxi stop that took us to San Pedro for restaurants, shopping or ferries to Caye Caulker. It was also an easy and lovely walk along the beach to nearby restaurants, each affording us outdoor seating under the palms looking out at the reef, where we enjoyed the excellent local beer and food. Close by is Matte Grande, a surprisingly well stocked store where we purchased our food. The owners were very friendly, providing delivery right to the house as well as being a wealth of information about what to see and do. Don't miss the delicious weekend barbecue, right beside the store. The kayak at the house provided us with easy access to the nearby barrier reef for swimming and snorkeling. We went on an amazing snorkeling boat trip to Hoi Chan Canyons Marine Resort and Shark and Ray ally with Coral Reef Divers. Genie, the diver-owner and a neighbor, and his crew provide a wealth of information about marine life and local lore. But best of all, was experiencing relaxing island living. We will come back!

“Perfect Spur of the Moment Getaway” We had a beautiful weekend at the cabin. We booked last minute, but Jenny was so helpful and informative that everything went as smooth as if we had been planning for months! The cabin was clean and warm and beautifully decorated. “Amazing Rainforest Getaway” We were looking for an adventurous but luxurious rainforest getaway; we got that and more. From the moment we started down the river with Ruben at helm to the moment we disembarked back in Sierpe 5 days later we were enchanted by our experience at Casa Rio Sierpe and very sorry to leave. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we decided to dive right in by getting as far into the forest on the Osa Peninsula as possible. We chose CRS principally due to the deep down-the-river location and the dedicated guide and boat provided by the property. Mark provided a ton of pre-travel information and was always there with an almost immediate response to our queries as we completed our planning. Even so we looked at each other a few times before the trip with that ‘What are we thinking’ look of trepidation. We need not have been concerned. Getting to Sierpe from San Jose is easy if you decide to drive yourself. It takes two half-days to get there if you at arrive in San Jose at midday. The house itself is perfect for its location. You feel complete privacy. The interior is as advertised. Great kitchen with all you could need. No issues with electricity or water supply. Filtered water! The walk up the hill can seem daunting, especially after a long day, but once at the house and on the deck you will realize the benefit. We spent every morning/evening sitting rapt watching and listening to the rainforest transition from night to day and then back. We were blown away by the sounds, especially during the time from 4am to 7am; I only have room to say ‘ pre-dawn roar of Howler Monkeys .’ Wildlife. When you go that far to observe as much as possible, you might stand on the deck when you first arrive and think; what if we don’t see anything? Don’t worry. The first day we saw a pair of Toucans, a pair of white-necked puffbirds, and many hummingbirds. The next day on the hike to the cascada we looked to our left and were staring at a river otter 5 meters away; no lie. Monkeys, Koatimundi, macaws, various parrot and parakeet flocks, and many, many more. But the most amazing part of the experience was interacting with Ruben, Adriana, and Juliana. We were a little nervous about not being competent in Spanish but we had no problem communicating. We learned a lot and had great fun with Ruben as a guide. He is a very genuine person and clearly loves the forest. In that short time we came to think of them as friends, amigos. It's very special; go!

“A great retreat” Staying here while on vacation (a bit off-season) was a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of home. The front porch was a great place to relax and play games with friends, the full kitchen allowed us to share great meals, private lake access made kayaking a blast, and proximity to local restaurants and shops as well as the Chataqua Institute made our trip the perfect combination of fun & relaxation!
