“Amazing Home for Family Vacation” Our family spent 3 days and nights here last June and absolutely loved it. We just booked for the same weekend in June and can't wait for the trip. Here is a breakdown of why we find this Tahoe home to be such a perfect fit for us (and many others): 1. Location: Easy to get to as it sits between Truckee and Tahoe City and falls on a main road, but the long driveway means the home is secluded. The house is nestled back in the trees allowing beautiful views and has all sorts of little tracks and outside areas to explore. We loved to wander across the street to the Truckee River and to walk around the grounds. But then it is essentially 10-15 minutes to all places you might need or want. 2. Family fit: The location certainly set the stage for our wonderful trip, but the house itself really suited us. It is very child friendly - our kids (aged 1 and 3) loved to pile cushions up in the basement and run around, play ping pong, sit at the poker table, explore the patios or run down the hall upstairs. 3. Group fit: We went up with another family (same age kids) and the house really could not have been better for this crew of 8. We slept on one side of the home while the other family took 3 bedrooms at the other end. The closets are so big and have windows that we used both of them for the older kids (who liked the idea of building a "nest"). Early wakers could go down to the lowest level and run around without disturbing others. We could hang out as a big group very easily but also separate into family units if desired.

“Great cabin- awesome views” Nicely remodelled, well equipped and spacious cabin with terrific views of the mountains. Located in a quiet neighborhood a view minutes drive from Squaw village we could not have asked for more. We staid there in august for some great hiking and had a hard time leaving. If we go back in winter we will definitely book this cabin again.

“Annual 4th of July getaway” My family has been spending 4th of July in the Sierras for decades (either Donner Lake or Tahoe) and over the past several years we have been renting in Tahoe. Four Summits is right up there with some of our favorite cabins, and I would definitely recommend it. However, I would suggest adding foam pads to the beds, as they were all too firm for our group, and a shade umbrella on the side deck is a must, since it gets sun most of the day. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of linens, and the home is very comfortable and is updated just enough. We might be back next year!

“Great Vacation House” Agatam Retreat is a lovely cabin, well located on a quiet loop street in Tahoe Vista. We could walk to two near by beaches and several restaurants. Kings Beach is a short 5 minute drive in to the North and Tahoe City about 8 miles to the South. The house itself is open concept upstairs, well furnished with a beautiful kitchen, livingroom and dining area, and a great deck across the front of the house. We sat out there several evenings watching the sky turn pink and grilling our dinner. Two bedrooms and two baths are upstairs. Downstairs is a cozy den and another bedroom and bath. We didn't use the downstairs, but it would have been perfect for an extended family with children. The kitchen is very well equipped. I think you could cook Thanksgiving there and do just fine. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will request this house again for a vacation.

“Incredible Views and Vacation Spot” Stayed at the North Tahoe Lodge for a girls weekend and had an amazing time. From making large dinners in the grand kitchen and dining room to relaxing in the spa and sauna the spacious house allowed made a great place for a girls' getaway weekend. Not a far drive to the lake and grocery stores, but had great views. I highly reccomend staying at the North Tahoe Lodge. Best accomodations.

“A place to bring friends together” My friends and I stayed at Tahoe Family Donner Home and had a GREAT time! We came up for Tough Mudder so we wanted a nice, relaxing place to stay which is exactly what we did at this home. It was a beautiful, cozy home that had everything to offer. If you are looking for a charming home to stay at with a few friends or family, I would most definitely recommend staying here!! Thanks to the owners who let us enjoy their home. :)

“Great location, great old Tahoe house” We had an amazing time at Sky Rocks and can't wait to go back. The only disappointment occurred when we arrived because the pictures make it look like the property is lake side. It is actually up the hill and requires a ~200 yard walk down a path to the water. The pool is a nice amenity, but is also a walk down a paved road (~150-200 yards). Also, the gas grill didn't work. Other than that, it is a great place to hang out with your family/friends in a rustic Tahoe house.

“Wonderful home for large group.” The house was wonderful, loved the different living spaces, sleeping spaces. The kitchen and living room made a great gathering space. Beautiful area and the bus made it so easy to get to the slopes. The only thing that we found we did not have was bar soap in any of the bathrooms. Liquid hand soap at the sinks is not enough. Also the bear bin was not empty and the garbage was an issue. All in all, we loved the the house and it was perfect for our group and stay.

“Great Stay!” This place was perfect for a weekend ski trip! only 15 min from Northsar, and a cozy place to return home to with the hot tub and fireplace. The kitchen has everything so cooking dinner was really easy. Couple downsides: 1) we could not regulate the temperature in the bedrooms very well. We only found one thermostat for the whole cabin- so the master bedroom ended up being about 10 degrees warmer than the living room while the guests downstairs were a little chilly. 2) the upstairs master bedroom is right off the kitchen and you can hear everything that goes on. So long as everyone is on the same sleeping schedule, not a problem.

“New year Family Vacation” We enjoyed our stay at Red Cedar, 5 adults and 1 child. The Tahoe Getaway staff were very professional and made the reservation process very easy. The house was comfortable and as the description stated. Very close to shopping, restaurants and the resorts. The Beds were comfortable with quality bedding. If I had anything to say that could make our week nicer it would be the Garage access. No codes for door opener, so you have to open the door from inside the garage, go upstairs to lock up house, Reverse when coming home. Also if you like to cook, you may want to bring a couple of kitchen knives as all the knives in the kitchen are serrated.

“Perfect for Large Gathering” We wanted a comfortable place for 8 people, with room for Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people. Creekside fit both requirements. The home is beautiful, spacious and clean. The highlight is the "Big Room" which consists of living room, dining room and kitchen all connected together in one uninterrupted area. This layout was perfect for Thanksgiving. The dining table seats 14. Guests who prepared food in the kitchen could interact with guests in the living room. We highly recommend Creekside for large social gatherings. All of the rooms have private bathrooms and are spotlessly clean.

“Very confortable, spacious and clean...” I just came back from a week vacation on Lake Tahoe and Pioneer Retreat did the job flawlessly. The house is big enough for 12 people, it's well equipped and it was spotless, like really-really clean, no dust and the Jacuzzi and BBQ are a big plus. The property administrators (Tahoe Gateways) did an excellent job sending information about restaurants, transportation and general rules regarding the house. I've been renting homes for vacation purposes for more than 15 years in Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, L.A., Big Bear and San Diego and this was, by far, the best experience. Hope to visit Tahoe again... and soon. Only 3 cons (livable): 1. Looks like it's time to replace the towels 2. The water heater is a bit small for 12 people, expect to run out of hot water if some of your travel mates take long showers 3. The internet is as slow as the slowest internet café, even the speed on a Mcdonalds is faster
