“Is this place heaven?” Remember the line from the movie "Field Of Dreams," where the character playing Kevin Costner's Father asks him: "Is this heaven?" That what I kept thinking about when we stayed at Oliver Korshin's place in Sayulita, except that as far as I was concerned, it was heaven, and it had WiFi to boot!

Charming Villa in peaceful gated area with pool
The most relaxing vacation I have ever had!

This was, without a doubt, the best, most relaxing vacation I have ever been on. Even though I had some computer work to do to fulfill obligations back home, I still found it so easy to relax and enjoy the absolutely beautiful home and its surroundings. The house itself is gorgeous, so spacious and unlike any home I have ever been in. I love the fact that the kitchen was upstairs so that we could eat outside on the patio and enjoy the wonderful weather. The people who work the grounds were very friendly and helpful; there really was no reason to leave the little peninsula unless you wanted to (which we did, and it's definitely worth exploring!). There is a woman that takes care of each of the 14 homes on the compound, and Berta took care of us during our stay. She was so sweet and the house was always so clean and neat. Oh, and her cooking is was delicious! I highly recommend taking advantage of having these wonderful ladies cook for you...the food was amazing!!! And there was tons of it! Drinking water is supplied to you, so that was not a worry at all. There were plenty of activities to do off the grounds, like horseback riding and whale watching, which I also recommend doing! There is a great little store owned by a very nice family about a 10 minute walk off the compound that has groceries and excellent tortas (sandwiches) if you are hungry! Zacualpan is close and it's a great little town to visit; grab some good food and some really fresh ice cream after! I had such a great first experience in Mexico thanks to the beautiful place we stayed and all the wonderful, hard-working people that made our trip so much fun. I really hope to go back and stay here again!see more

Beautiful, remote, relaxing getaway

It's actually located in Platanitos about an hour from Sayulita further north along the coast. The house is 1 of 11 in a gated community called Punta el Custodio. There are some local beach restaurants about 5 minutes away, but for the most part the community is an island unto itself, with the houses immersed in lush tropical vegetation on a bluff overlooking the ocean, seemingly isolated from all else. It takes getting away to another level. The house is comfortable, with friendly, attentive service from the maid/cook. It doesn't directly overlook the ocean (wrong side of the street), but does have ocean views through palm trees from the 2nd floor balcony. I listened to the sounds of the waves as I slept with the balcony doors open. The house has a small pool, but I spent more time at the communal pool, which had a larger deck, with more sun exposure, overlooking the beach. Stairs go down to the beach, but the sandy area was relatively small an usually wet. It wasn't idea for lying out. It's more a destination for those who want to surf. There are other beaches nearby for those who want. The one problem I had was with the Internet. I'm not sure if the service was often broken or had limited daily data transfer, but I often had problems. There's also no TV that I saw, although I could have used it at night.see more

Paradise

Casa Colibri is a beautiful, characterful, paradise of a home in a secluded location. Step across the pavement from the front door and down the steps to the sea, (and beach you have virtually to yourself) for a kayak or swim down the estuary, or to surf the waves of the ocean. The amenities in the palapa are excellent, the place is better equipped than my home, with everything you could ever need in the kitchen. The amazing central room is open to the exquisite plants that tumble abundant with flowers, and also looks out onto the hot-tub. The dining table is large and round, begging for large sociable dinner parties. Mona cooks up fantastic food. The bedrooms are all unique and comfortable, some with their own terraces. The location is fantastic, as you're away from tourism and with a second beach (with restaurants) a short walk away which buzzes with local villagers on Sunday, their day off. By car, you're not far from interesting towns and villages to explore, with markets, fishing hauls, crocodile boat trips and plenty of Mexican local life. It's a 3 hour drive from Puerta Vallarta.see more
