“family reunion” we looked for a place where the whole family could celebrate a 70'years birthday. We were altogether 4 families of 8 adults and 7 children. The property was ideal for us. We occupied 5 apartments and had the whole place at our disposal. It was nice that we had the whole property at our own so that we should not consider other residents. All apartments were in good standard and the pool area was nice. We had really no complains at all. One evening a pizza evening was arranged by the manager and it was splendid. Further the surrounding towns were interesting and marvelous.

“Wonderful place with beautiful vistas of the hills and valley fr” We were able to stay 5 days and 4 nights in this lovely place. The property was as or better than described. Very comfortable and clean. Everything we needed for the time we stayed there. It was a very nice location to be able to take day trips to Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Orvieto on the way back to Rome. Such great views from apt #2. We even saw deer in the evening and morning running through the fields below. Montepulciano is very close and you can be there in a matter of a few minutes to shop at the Conard or enjoy shopping and meals. There are a lot of rules on lists provided to follow regarding trash, cleaning, linens, etc. We didn't see much of the caretakers as they had other jobs/work, a new baby, etc. But they were very pleasant and helpful if we needed anything. This is definitely a place we would go back to again.Once we found it. I am glad we got to the location during the day and not at night. You just really have to believe the directions and keep going. The signs are a bit small and I am glad everyone was looking for them. Please go eat at the 13 Gobbi in Montefollonico about 5-6 miles away on a hill top to the north. You will love it. And have their house wine, great. By the way, a bottle of wine and olive oil was provided upon our stay. Both were very good. Wish I could have bought more of it.

“superbe apartment at a suberbe place” We stayed at the lovely old town of San Gimignano a year ago. Everything was perfect. We received a warm welcome by a nice old lady. The apartment is just next to the central square in the pedestrian area. In summer you can even enjoy opera, theatre and music performances from one window of the apartment. Inside everything worked fine including a free washing machine. Payment and organisation worked smoothly, strongly reommended!

“Perfect base to see all that Tuscany has to offer” La Casetta del Borgo was the perfect location for my recent trip to Tuscany with my wife. The unit is located in a resort with plenty of amenities including two pools and a very nice tennis court with faux grass that can be used for a small fee. It is a 10 minute drive to Montaione where one can go for dinner or buy groceries to cook in the unit's kitchen. All the necessary utensils are available to do some home cooking and I enjoyed a number of home cooked dinners and a delicious breakfast every morning thanks to my lovely wife. The main resort building has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, however I didn't try it out so I can't say anything about it. Paolo, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. I was having trouble finding the location with my GPS so Paolo had me meet him at his home which is just off the highway from Florence and very easy to find. To ensure that I found it with no problem Paolo drove to the resort while I followed . Once at the resort he had the keys, a nice bottle of wine, and plenty of info about the local area ready for me. Since he knew that I had the flu he even had some flu medication for me in case I needed it! The weather was unseasonably cold when we arrived and the bedding wasn't sufficient, but Paolo came to the rescue and drove over in the rain with more blankets for us. You'll be hard pressed to find a better host at this type of vacation rental. The location was perfect for us as it was very quiet, yet was within easy driving distance of many towns and cities in Tuscany. Smaller towns like Montaione and San Gimignon were within a 10-20 minute drive and Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Sienna were all within an hours scenic drive. If driving into Florence remember that free parking can be found at the Piazzale Michelangelo which is located outside of the ZTL and is a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi and other old city sites. The views are also magnificent! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property!

Tuscan Tower - A unique castle apartment

“Heaven on earth!” This castle apartment, this town and this region of Tuscany were absolutely beautiful, exceeding our expectations! We were 2 couples celebrating our 25th anniversary,and stayed here following our 12 day Mediterranean cruise last October (2012). We had seen amazing countries and places on our cruise, however when we arrived here and climbed the stairs to the tower in the apartment, the view took our "breath away"! This was the highlight of our entire trip! This was the first time we had rented an apartment, and of course a little nervous about the process. Without meeting John and Wendy, they made us feel so comfortable and welcome. The "Welcome Package" that they provide gives you all the information that you need for your stay and any question you may have, you are sure to find the answer in their guide. Located in this amazing medieval town of Montefollonico, you are in the heart of the most beautiful area of Tuscany. John and Wendy include the sights to see and places to visit in their guide, which we followed and were so glad we did! The town provides everything you need, all within a short walking distance - groceries (including wine, spirits and beer) and local restaurants which were all very good. The apartment was perfect for 2 couples,we each had our own bedroom and own bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and all the linens and towels provided were of the highest standard. Just remember no elevators here, so when you first arrive, you must carry your bags up the stairs. John and Wendy let us know that the internet was a little unstable, which it was, but that was okay too. Every daylight moment we spent at the apartment were spent in the tower, enjoying our Tuscany wines, along with our sheep cheese( so good Wendy!) and never getting enough of the beautiful views, the peace all around us, and the sounds of the birds singing. Truly heaven on earth! Thank you John and Wendy for sharing your world with us!

“A totally relaxing rural Tuscan retreat.” Podere Patrignone is a beautifully rustic, rambling farmhouse, secluded in its own woods. There are a number of properties for rent within the complex, from compact and bijou, to spacious and open, all with their own particular charm. It makes a wonderful base for touring, being within easy reach of Florence, many Tuscan hilltowns and villages, and stunning Sienna. Simon and Verity are charming, helpful and very friendly hosts, as are their family, and of course, their dogs!! The weekly "home cooked" meal is a great opportunity to sample Verity`s cooking, and meet your fellow guests. The position of the complex within the landscape, is superb, and there are wonderful views from the terrace and pool area, over surrounding olive groves and vineyards. There are a number of excellent restaurants within very easy reach, where local food and wine can be enjoyed. I would also suggest visiting local wine producers, of which there are many. My wife and I have stayed at Patrignone for two weeks, in both 2011 and 2012, and we would not hesitate to recommend this lovely destination. Do not be expecting a five star hotel, that is not what Patrignone is about!! It is, as Simon says, a work in progress. However, I fail to see how a stay here, could ever disappoint. Truly Tuscan in every sense.

“Return visit” One again we enjoyed our visit to this well run set of apartments. They are ready on time, cleean and well equiped. A caretaker lives on site to provide backiup if needed. The gardena and pool are tell tended and maintained. Montipulciano is 10 mins away by car. Be aware that it is in the middle of the countryside with no shops or restaurants nearby.
