REMARKABLE VISTA

Queenstown house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Very modern and comfortable” We spent a couple nights at remarkable vista during the 2013 snow season and all I can say is wow. Amazing views from pretty much any room (especially the glass walled/roofed dining room), very modern furnishings, plenty of room and even a little waterfall running through the side of the property! It is a little distance from the town centre, so not suitable if you dont have a car to get around with I would highly recommend this to anyone

“Extremely comfortable stay with magnificent views over lake Waka” Thank you Kristen for a very comfortable stay in your beautifully positioned townhouse. Your views are truly magnificent over Frankton arm & The Remarkables. Our stay was very comfortable and we felt like it was our home away from home, albeit only for one week. We would certainly contact you again on return visits to Queenstown. Many thanks Ian & Di MacMillan

Muna Moke Queenstown

Queenstown house

“Wonderful Holiday” Staying at Muna Moke during our family holiday was incredible. The house has a very unique architecture. From the dining area, lounge room, huge deck and bedrooms we saw breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains. We always had a good night's sleep because of the comfortable beds in every room. With the holiday we just had, we were invigorated. Thank you so much. We will recommend the property to our friends.

“Heaven on earth!!” We loved our stay at Goldrush Glory. The entire family were wowed by the view as soon as we walked through the door. Our two teenage daughters claimed the bottom floor and loved the view and the house. The house is very well appointed with all amenities and next time we plan just to come here and stay for the week. The service from both Kristen (owner) and Vicky (property manager) was excellent. The location is excellent and having stayed in Queenstown itself last time we much prefer this location as the view is just beautiful anytime day or night.

Queenstown house

“Amazing views” My wife and I stayed in the self contained apartment, the bottom level of the house which is on a steep site giving the most amazing uninterrupted views of the lake and the Remarkables range, visible from the kitchen living room and bedroom through floor to ceiling glass doors, which open onto a lawn terrace with a gas barbecue. We were met by the property manager who briefed us on the amenities, Sky TV and free wifi. The property was spotless and had good quality linen and towels, and bathroom amenities. The kitchen was well equipped. The town centre is 10 minutes by car or a walk of 30 minutes takes you to the lake. Access is down 2 flights of steps so that people of limited mobility would need to know this. There is a good local bistro 15 minutes walk away. Just outside the airport is a good supermarket, essential for flights arriving late.

About Queenstown

Known as the adventure capital of the world, Queenstown, New Zealand has every adventure sport you can imagine and then some!

Add to this the spectacular scenery of the Southern Alps, plus an affordable rental property on FlipKey and you have a recipe for fun, excitement and an amazing vacation.

About Queenstown

Surrounded by mountains on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, Queensland, and the Wakatipu Basin that it sits on, was formed 15,000 years ago by glacial movement.

Native Maoris have lived there for 700 years, but it was the discovery of gold in 1862 that had European settlers rushing to build a shanty town on the shore of the lake.

When the gold ran out, the settlers left leaving the land to the sheep farmers who went about their business undisturbed until tourists started arriving to ski the surrounding mountains.

One of Queenstown’s biggest claims to fame is the invention of bungee jumping. One day, AJ Hackett and Henry Van Asch allowed the public to use their invention to jump off the 43 meters high Kawarau Bridge. You can still try it today! Go on, we dare you.

Today, Queenstown is a cosmopolitan place full of youngsters from around the globe all in search of Southern Hemisphere skiing and great nightlife.

What to do

Adventure sports still remain the biggest reason to visit Queenstown. You'll find a terrifying 134-meter bungee jump called the “Nevis Thriller” that is supposed to be as close to base jumping as you can get without a parachute.

Jet-boating is another of Queenstown’s adrenalin-pumping activities. You basically fly down the Kawarau River at speeds of 90kph while making death-defying turns and 360-degree spins.

If you’re more in the mood for keeping your feet firmly on the ground, visit Kiwi Birdlife Park where you can learn all about New Zealand’s native bird and other species that call the South Island home.

With the popularity of Queensland as a destination still growing, several young chefs have opened up restaurants around the lake. This means you're able to taste the finest New Zealand lamb with a locally grown pinot noir while gazing at snow-capped mountains. Incredible!

Top Queensland travel tips

The best time to visit Queensland depends on what you’re looking to do. If it’s skiing, then you need to visit mid-June through early October, when most of the Northern Hemisphere are on their summer vacations.

If crowds are not your thing, visit between March and April or in November and avoid long lines.

Because Queenstown attracts a young crowd, the bar scene can be pretty rowdy, so if you’re just looking to go out for a quiet drink, head up the lake to Glenorchy for tranquility in a “Lord of the Rings” setting.

There is no escaping the fact that Queenstown has one of the most spectacular natural settings on the planet.

Combine the scenery with a great place to stay that you found on FlipKey, and there really is not a bad time to visit Queensland and the South Island of New Zealand.

Panorama on the Terrace - all bedrooms with private ensuites
Amazing views of Queenstown

Panorama on the Terrace was a great place to stay while enjoying all that Queenstown has to offer (and it has a LOT to offer). The views can't be beat, looking over the town, the lake, and across to the mountains. The house itself is wonderful, esp. the master bedroom. The staff at Relax It's Done were fantastic and extremely helpful, especially Margaret with whom we were in contact with the most prior to and at the time of check-in. She was extremely helpful recommending things to do while you are in Queenstown, and met us at the house upon check-in to give us a full run-down of the amenities, help with booking activities, etc. All in all it was a fantastic start to our New Zealand vacation and we would stay there again in a heartbeat when and if we are fortunate enough to return!see more
Queenscliff luxury villa in Queenstown New Zealand with hot tub
Comfortable stay

This is a capacious, multileveled home that will suit four couples or a family or perhaps even two families travelling together. The views across Queenstown are super and the facilities of the home are good. I travelled from Auckland to stay in Queenstown with my two children for a week of skiing and this home was perfect. My only gripe is that there was no decent coffee making machine and for this level of accommodation I would expect that. There is a double garage and internal access, a lift, a spa (but you will have to pay an extra $100 to be able to use it), easy access to the mountains for skiing and town for days off when you want groceries, lunch and fun. There is wifi and a good computer and the technology in the house for music, tv and internet are all first rate. The media room is good but the technology (Playstation etc) are according to my teenage son out of date. We travel with our own iPads so this did not faze the children! You will not regret renting Queenscliff.see more
Goldrush Holiday Home #2 - Queenstown NZ
Great apartment, amazing views

The views from the photographs on the website were the persuading factor to book and they didn't disappoint. They were great, enhanced by perfect weather.Booking was straightforward and Kristen readily accomodated our slight variation on dates. The apartment is wonderfully well equipped, spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Comfy beds, hot powerful showers. It was joy to come back to everyday. Just out of town, it suited our needs with a great lake walk into the centre and the enhanced view because of its location although the hill from the main road to the property could be an issue for elderly residents if walking. With a car it's not a problem. Vicky the property manager, a lovely lady, was on hand if we needed anything. I spent a lot of time looking on the internet for a special property, for our first visit to NZ and Kirsten's didn't disappoint. There was nothing to fault and it comes highly recommeded from our family.see more
REMARKABLE VISTA
Fantastic! Views, Location, Appointments all *** 5 stars! And vi

We stayed 4 nights in this amazing home. Communication with Shona the owner was great. Caretaker Paul was very friendly and provided great tips for our stay in Queenstown. The views from this beautifully appointed house are amazing from all levels. The furnishing are top quality, with comfortable beds, sparkling clean bathrooms, really well appointed kitchen, and easy parking in garage with remote opener. The view of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu are simply stunning. It's an easy drive to town, but it's sure nice to be a bit out of the fray come evening. We will recommend this fantastic home to all our friends. Thank you for sharing this fantastic property with us.see more
Kumanu
One word: Fabulous!

Kumanu Lodge is set in the most stunning location, half way up Crown Range Road with 360 degree views up to mountains and down to the lake at Queenstown. The house itself is of the highest standard of design and fixtures - it's the sort of place you would expect Hollywood a-Listers to rent so it isn't cheap. I should add that if you want to be within easy reach of a pint of milk/shops, then it is a trek. But take lots of supplies with you, hole up and enjoy the views from the hot tub and relax.see more

Highly Recommend

We had a wonderful stay at 25 OTT and loved our time in Queenstown. The accommodation was spacious and well appointed and the views were stunning. We were traveling with our 2 boys (6 and 8) and it was convenient and close to town yet quiet and peaceful. You won't be disappointed. … see more
