“Paradise in The aveyron” I have just had the most glorious week in this piece of Paradise. And paradise not only describes the feeling of tranquility one gets here but also the atmosphere created by the hosts Hanneke and Tony Herbert.I have never been made to feel more welcome on holiday than when I was greeted upon my arrival. If you are fortunate enough to be given specially home made pizzas as a welcome you are in for a sublime treat. Hanneke and Tony are on hand to guide you to the best that the region has to offer, and that is a lot, and they are also there to help in any situation but like the perfect hosts that they are they also stay in the background and let you chill. There is a special feeling to this place, surrounded by rolling hills, you feel as if are being protected by the landscape and cared for as you gradually unwind The accommodation is like a 5 star hotel, on one level there's a spacious lounge area with an adjoining luxury kitchen and all this is framed by a wonderful view which can be enjoyed from a hanging balcony. The bedrooms and ensuite are just what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. There is so much to do in the area, I chose canoeing down the river Lot, an adventure I would highly recommend, a trip to the mountains, and visited the medieval village of Conques, (a must see).One special experience was dinner at www.aberge-des-montagnes.com. A menu to die for. There is absolutely nothing to fault in this home away from home, I am already looking at when I can return, this year. I am told the skiiing in the mountains, only 45 minutes away is fist class.
