“girls trip” The place was very nice and clean! The coffee maker didn’t work and the door handle on the glass door wasn’t secure and kept falling out. Other than that the place was awesome and the view was perfect! Would come here again!

“Gem in the rough” Pros: When we pull up to the house you get a little concern but when you open the door, my goodness, it is beautiful inside. The beach is right in back of the house which is quiet. There are not a lot of people on this side of the beach. The location is close to the grocery stores and activities. Cons: This is the first time I have rented a house and they do not have an iron and iron board. We had to buy utensils because there was not enough for all of us. They have waterbugs which is one of the disadvantages by being close to the water. The cleaning crew did not do a good job of getting the sand out of the rugs so we had to constantly sweep and there was no vaccum. There was a major leak in one of the bathrooms so we could only use one bathroom among 8. The rental company wanted to move us but it would have been a mile from the beach. We were all in agreement if the waterbugs were not such a big issue we would rent the home again.

“Forget the beach... Give me life on the river” Kathryn, Ron, Annie, and Gracie couldn't have been more gracious hosts. Kathryn and Ron were so accommodating and Annie and Gracie are my favorite furbabies on the planet. There was so much to enjoy right outside the front door. The river is so relaxing and the entire retreat is so well appointed and still a short drive to the beach. We enjoyed the fire pit, the river, the hammocks, the boat ride, the beautiful night lights, playing with Annie and relaxing with Gracie... The list goes on. Kathryn suggested a visit to Gulf World where she and Ron made sure we were treated like VIP. The shows and exhibits were amazing! And if you're wondering if you should have breakfast... YES! You should. My mom is a very good cook and picky eater and she loved every item on the menu. My mother has always hated bread pudding, but not Kathryn's! It is the best bread pudding you'll ever have. With all of that said; I must say the best part was chatting with Kathryn at breakfast and learning about the history the river holds from the boat ride with Ron. Kathryn and Ron have created a unique experience that you simply can't get anywhere else. State side or abroad- this was my most favorite mini vacation ever and I'm already planning my next visit. I'm home now and I am still feeling rejuvenated and relaxed from my time at Choctaw Lodge Retreat. My only issue is I am hungry because now I have to cook my own breakfast again :(. Tip for future guests: in the master bathroom shower... The big knob at the bottom... Pull it... you're welcome ;)

“Beautiful!” There are so many wonderful things, I don't know where to start! We absolutely loved the view, it was amazing. Very convenient and quiet location, close to everything we wanted to do but away from the party crowd. Everything was very clean and tidy, the lighting in the dining area is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The photos just dont do it justice. The shower was super cool, you can adjust the height, so our 4 year old was able to comfortably take a shower and we didn't have to chase her around the tub with a cup, lol. The beds and couch were extremely comfortable! The pool area was also very nice, 2 pools and a large hot tub that was very hot. We enjoyed that a lot :) one of the pools was indoor/ outdoor which is nice so you can still swim and be out of the sun. We look forward to staying here again soon.
