“Unique and beautiful...heavy on the character...” I'm a frequent visitor of the 'ette. I love the location (right off the main drag) but enjoy its solitude (wooded median...long drive way). Its sort of like a studio apartment in the woods. its close to many of the wineries, The Red Newt and Stone Cat restaurants and a gas/quick mart. When Wine tasting its easy to swing by and change clothes/use the facilities/take a nap (comfy beds) and unload your recent purchases. The owners are friendly and helpful. The grounds are spacious with a nice walking trail. For what you get for the price its really a great secret. So why share a secret? I'm not there long enough or frequent enough to keep it to myself...like a cool song, I shouldn't be singing it alone (especially if you've heard my voice).

“Cute, convenient, quite cottage.” My wife and I stayed here for four night at the end of July. It is a cute rustic cabin with room for two - four people. It is close to everything in the Traverse area. Nestled on Duck lake peninsula, it is a great place for fishing. I caught 4 large-mouth bass out of the nearby canal alone. The owner is very nice and prompt in her responses. The peninsula has four different spots where you can access the lake. Good if you are looking for a quick weekend getaway!

“A great retreat” Staying here while on vacation (a bit off-season) was a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of home. The front porch was a great place to relax and play games with friends, the full kitchen allowed us to share great meals, private lake access made kayaking a blast, and proximity to local restaurants and shops as well as the Chataqua Institute made our trip the perfect combination of fun & relaxation!

“A wonderful house in a wonderful setting” My wife and I so enjoyed our time in the Stones' house on a lake. It is beautiful with all the needs any visitor could want. I enjoyed boating on the lake, seeing eagles and other creatures. The folk we encountered in the area were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the local church. “It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's De-lovely!” One would think that Cole Porter wrote those lyrics after visiting Ye Olde Manor House! The owners, Karen Fulbright-Anderson and John anderson, are a delightful, warm, welcoming couple. They are so friendly and engaging that you feel at home almost as soon as you arrive. And their home reminds me of an English Country Cottage with the many comfortable seating areas and nooks and crannies expected. There is also a beautiful green lawn with several flowering beds and many lovely spots for sitting. But the piece de resistance of the public areas is the year-round indoor/outdoor pool, with a depth of no more than 5 feet, which makes it perfect for swimmers and non-swimmers (me) alike. First, and most importantly, each guest room has it's own private bath stocked with lovely smelling potions and lotions, big, soft, fluffy bath towels and anything else that you might need. Second, the rooms are lovely. I stayed in the 'Oak Room', which is filled with antique oak furniture and is perfect for one person. There is a chair for reading, a beautiful antique trunk that you can sit on use for your luggage and antique lamps, doilies and trinkets. There were two other guest rooms nearby, but I slept like a baby and never heard anyone else! The breakfast that John and Karen offer negates the need for lunch! You have a choice of Vegan, Vegetarian or the Meat and Dairy eaters breakfast, and everything they prepare is delicious! Finally, there are plenty of other things to do nearby-walking around the Lake, hiking, visiting the quaint Town of Elkhorn, attending concerts and, my favorite, antique fairs!! My long weekend at Ye Olde Manor House was so enjoyable and relaxing that it left me feeling as though I'd spent a week at a spa. Writing about it is making me feel the same way all over again. I can't wait to visit again!!!

“Very nice place for my elderly grandparents to stay!” Very nice place for my grandparents to spend a night. Beautiful, secluded, neat as a pin...would refer to others for sure! Also--very nice trails throughout the campground. Have ridden horse through as trails are nicely groomed.

“Good Times at Kenslynn Cottages” For the past 10 years, we have stayed at Kenslynn Cottages in Bancroft. The folks who rent the cottages are wonderful people and try very hard to accommodate your every need. The most important feature of the cottage is Trout Farrady Lake. Very clean fresh lake water. When the sun shines or if it's cloudy, you'll appreciate mother nature at its best. The cottages are well appointed, and the kids will be kept busy indoors or outside. I've enjoyed every summer, and consider this a great destination to enjoy a specatular part of northern Ontario. The key thing to remember is you're at a cottage, not the Hilton. Eric, Glynnis, Lynne and Murray are wonderful hosts and take care of your every need. So come up and visit Bancroft, because it's a jewel that lifts our spirits every summer. The kids will appreciate it and remember the experience for years to come.

“Perfect for Beach Lovers” The views from this Condo are amazing. You cannot get better access to the beach!!! Everything was clean and well done aesthetically. We enjoyed our time, especially my husband who loves the Atlantic Ocean, thoroughly. Onsite parking is a great asset as is the elevator to the 4th floor. Helena and Robert were gracious and very accommodating. Would go back in a heartbeat! .

“Awesome Cabin!!” My husband and I rented this property for the July 4th weekend. His sister and her husband traveled with us. At first we thought we were going to the end of the Earth, but after finding the cabin we were all very pleased. It was very nice! Clean, spacious, and private. Giving each couple their own bedroom and bathroom. Best of all, Liz, is an amazing hostess, checking in with us daily to be sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this cabin for a nice relaxing weekend.

“Perfect stop & go on our way to weekend in the city” This was the perfect stop & go on Thursday evening as we were staying downtown for the weekend to see Dave Matthews, Vicki greeted us after arrival, answered any questions we had, and we had complete privacy from that point on. The fridge was stocked with drinks and breakfast items, and the kitchen was ready to prepare a meal had we opted to have dinner in. We used Uber for trips as everything is very close to Vicki's place! Very affordable in comparison to hotel but all the amenities of home! Thanks Vicki! Melanie & Eric
