La Valiana is centrally located for explorations to nearby villages and wineries, Cortona, lovely Pienza (a favorite), Montepulciano or easy day trips to Montalcino, Orvieto, Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Chianti and beyond. It is comfortable and beautifully decorated in classic, Tuscan style with fine architectural details such as wrought iron arched windows, doors and Travertine marble floors. You will be well taken care of and looked after by Cecelia and her Family who are the most gracious hosts - they are dedicated to making your stay a wonderful, memorable one, making themselves available should you need any assistance. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail will make you feel special and, at once, a part of the family. If you opt to have a meal prepared and waiting for your arrival after a long day of travel or touring, it will not disappoint and, quite possibly, could be one of the best meals in all of Tuscany, especially when enjoyed under the stars. “Great holiday for everyone” We were a combination of three families, including grandparent, cousins, friends, including children from 9 - 23 and there was something for everyone. Lots of room for kids to run around in grounds, big pool with lots of chairs/lounges, great outdoor eating morning, noon and night, good kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms in abundance. Ipod dock and books for everyone. We travelled as far as Rome, Perugia, Todi, Spoleto, etc. Highly recommended.

“green outdoors plus charm at home” I stayed in the "Fontanelle" farmhouse of Colle San Paolo for 2 weeks in July, with an extended family of ten adults and 5 children- and we had an excellent stay and wondeful time-- the check-in, introduction to the rooms, and overall responsiveness was warm and excellent. The home is furnished beautifully and charmingly comfortable, with spectacular views particularly on the east and southern sides. All the amenities are excellent, including the common areas: the infinity swimming pool with beautiful view of the valley, patio/garden with lavender and ancient olive tree, shaded barbecue area and the common (games/eating) room- as well as of course the pristine woods around the farmhouse. We received excellent tips on where to go for wine-tasting; medieval villages (where we met a jolly band of Franciscan faithful walking for peace); donkey walks for the children; jazz music in medieval castles; and hidden monastries off the tourist map. Most of all we enjoyed the fresh air, beautiful views and relaxed setting at the swimming pool with lots of space for meals in the common room and nearby walks in the early evening. We enjoyed every minute, emersed in the Italian countryside, with lots to do nearby whenever we felt the impulse to leave this comfortable and charming home.

“excellent in every way” The Villa Nuba experience is certainly the best one could hope for. The apartment is great, everything works as it should, and the location is fine as well. Most of all, we enjoyed the service of Giuseppe and his family, who made us feel at home the whole time. A really really recommendable place to stay while in Perugia.

“Amazing!! This word sums up our stay!” We stayed in Casa Leana with some friends recently. This is a beautiful old house and is furnished to a very high standard with a mixture of modern and antique furniture - we felt really at home there with the lovely big lounge and TVs and DVD players in most bedrooms plus literally Hundreds of Dvds to watch. Once we managed to get through our long relaxing breakfasts, we loved the outdoor space there - we all enjoyed the heated pool and unbelievably, I particularly liked the play area where I spent many hours in the hammock when my kids were playing on the swings. When we could tear the children away from the house we had a few days out, one of which we spent in Rome which was fabulous - we caught the early train from arezzo and had a whole day there. A fairly long and tiring day but well worth it. We also had a day at a beach side resort called Cesenatico. All in all this place was a great find and the local towns and villages are beautiful and unspoiled with wonderfully old fashioned family run shops and restaurants and, of course, ice cream parlors. We all want to revisit as we did not manage to see half the things we anticipated - we are already making plans for next year's trip to this lovely house. Thanks again Leigh and Di for helping to make Nick's birthday celebrations so memorable!
