“Stunning but isolated Villa” This is a beautiful villa with wonderful staff however it is quite isolated. The beach is right on your doorstep but you can't swim in it due to the rips - which was disappointing. The pool was great luckily for our 3 teenagers. Food was mostly very good, in particular the local Sri Lankan curries and breakfast. The abundant staff made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Having our laundry done was a real bonus for me. If you are looking for an escape this is the villa for you - however if you need the internet & like to eat out each evening I would hesitate to recommend this villa. It is a good 25-30 minute drive into Tangalle.

“Just Incredible...” Couldn't be happier with this accommodation! To start off the villa was in a great location (about 10 minutes drive from the main town), which was not a problem at all and was actually nice to be away from such a busy environment. A driver from the villa can be organised for a small cost which was very convenient when we didn't want to get the public bus. It was so nice to be staying right on the beach - and when you didn't want to swim in the beach we had our own private pool. The villas were extremely spacious with big beautiful bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The staff accommodated a few extras we had staying but we were all still very comfortable. Udith the Villa manager was extremely friendly and helpful, catering to our every need. It was always very nice to wake up and have a morning chat with Udith as he was always smiling and in such great spirits. The rest of the staff were also amazing! Always so friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for better people to be surrounded by. The in house chefs provide excellent food - our groups favourite being the chicken sandwiches. It is nice to be able to order whatever food you want at any time. We were supposed to stay only 5 nights, but extended because we didnt want to leave. Would definitely recommend these villa's. Great for a group of friends or a big family looking for a relaxing get away and a great time!

“Our magical stay at the Indian Ocean” This place was absolutely beautiful. We stayed here for over a week and we still regret we couldn't stay any longer. The beach villa is lovely decorated and feels like home. When you wake up you just have to walk out of the garden and you can have a nice refreshing swim in the sea without any other tourists. By moonlight you can have a shower in the bathroom that is located outside (there are also bathrooms inside btw). We remember relaxing in the garden under the swaying palmleaves whilst enjoying the view of the Indian Ocean. The food was fabolous which we got to enjoy several times. Wasante and Sarat (staff) were very friendly and hospitable. We would like to thank the owners, Nirmala and David for their great suggestions and warm hospitality. Hopefully we have the chance to come back to this beautiful place.

“A dream at the ocean” Arriving at the Villa (southpointvilla.com) the staff will greet you with a refreshing cloth and a delicous icecold drink. After passing the pool and a beautiful covered resting area you use a lightly curved bridge over a coy pond to enter the Villa. This Villa is located within a big garden, adjacent to a swimming pool, a grassy area, flowers and literally steps away from a beautiful, clean and quiet sandy beach for swimming and walking. Opposite the Villa, a coral reef invites you to snorkel and observe colorful fish. Lounge chairs and fresh towls are always provided. 3 bedrooms (TV, fans, AC) four-poster-beds, mosquito-nets, antique furniture, modern bathrooms - beautiful sink areas - always hot water - , fresh towls, shampoo and bathgels. One has a pool-garden-view, two have a garden/ocean-view and access to the deck. Inside and outside covered sitting-areas - including dining - w/ garden-ocean view. Staff is magnificent: they can arrange for everything (rental car, bicycles, boats, fishing, tours etc.) Laundry can be taken care of. Chef and his crew outstanding: the whole time such delicacies were created, that we never even got the idea of going out to eat somewhere else. Excursions: two National Parks "Uda Walawe" and "Yala" are not too far, teaplantations, Galle with its beautiful Fort and shopping in the city, a lake, other beaches and bays are nearby --- no nightlife.

“A Perfect hideaway on the Beach” Never did I expect to find such a beautiful serene beach house off the main road away from Galle. This former fisherman's house is perched at the end of a fishermen's beach and set up slightly from the beach under the shade of trees. You approach the house end on and walk along the cool veranda, past the large sitting area with huge blue day mattresses to sleep on, past the kitchen and hammocks to individual bedrooms with vast beds and ensuite bathrooms. Upstairs are a further 3 bedrooms off a veranda with views of the bay. The house is tastefully painted in shades of green and blue and has a simple but sophisticated feel about it. The place is idyllic. What better place to stay in Sri Lanka than here? Walk right along the bay, swimming and sea shell hunting. Have a cocktail whilst your cook creates a meal from local produce and fish as you watch the fishermen bring in their boats whilst the sun sets? What could be better?
