Penthouse by the Gondola - Ore Station Telluride

Telluride apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Perfect Location and Exceptionally Well Appointed” Penthouse by the Gondola is aptly named as it is steps from the gondola and looks like a penthouse. It is lovely and no detail has been left undone. From the bedding, to the TVs to the art, this place is really wonderful. Will definitely stay here again. Oh, and did I say, super close to the gondola? Stay here, you won't regret it and Blake is super easy to work with.

“comfortable” Most items needed for a several day stay were supplied in the room. The kitchen is small but had enough tools to serve 4 people easyish meals. We brought most of our food, (to help with expenses) along with our George foreman grill for "grilling" and to supplement the single electric burner. The balcony is also small but was still awesome for having a cup of coffee in the mountain morning air with my husband. Our 2 boys enjoyed the loft and it was nice to be able to send them to a different area to play and sleep. I would stay here again and also recommend for people looking to stay in Telluride and not spend a bundle.

Manitou Lodge #7

Telluride house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 6

“great location” we loved the location of the Manitou Lodge. We could listen to the rushing river, hop on the walking path and walk one block to the market and downtown shops. We loved seeing all the people walking on the path right outside our balcony. The only bummer for us was the cooking utensils - they were very limited and scratched. The coffee maker was good though.

“Beautiful condo at Bear Creek Telluride” My husband and I spent 3 nights at Bear Creek Lodge in a 1 bedroom condo in Telluride. Location was excellent, walking distance to the free gondola! Great heated pool with 2 outdoor hot tubs as well as a wonderful gym. Not that we had much time to use the pool but did use the outdoor Jacuzzi and gym. We are originally from Colorado but have lived in Costa Rica for almost 12 years. We still have family in Colorado so went back for our annual visit. Telluride is one spot we had not been to for many years. My daughter and fiancee met us there but stayed at another location. Hiking trails abound with excellent restaurants. All in all, celebrated our anniversary there and the condo had a bottle of fabulous wine with a card congratulating us! Wonderful surprise. I would highly recommend Bear Creek Lodge/condos and Telluride!

“ENJOYED THE VIEW, WHICH WAS BREATHTAKING, BUT WASN'T FAMILIAR WITH NO A/C BUT FANS, WE ARE FROM LOUISIANA.” Very nice employees, was willing to help in any way. We weren't used to a resort not having A/C but fans only, understand this bldg because of the location being a ski resort area does not require A/C but only maybe 2-3 months out of the year which makes it not worth the cost. We are from Louisiana and we require A/C probably 10-11 months out of the year. The resort was gorgeout, great view and plenty of amentities and activities to do while we were there during our stay.

“Great condo for 6 adults.” We have stayed here many times in the past and we keep coming back. It is a bit dated, but very clean. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and the deck overlooking the river is the best. Just a few steps from the hot tub too. It's on the west end of main street, so it's a bit of a walk to get to where most of the restaurants and shopping is; however, it is quiet and the walk along the river is really nice. Only a couple of minutes from the Gondola to Mountain Village.

Manitou Lodge #2

“Great location and very home-like” The Manitou is like the ski lodge you borrow from your neighbors. Not luxury or corporate, it feels like regular people return there year after year because it is comfortable, homey, and perfectly located. You are steps from the free gondola and downtown Telluride's shops, restaurants and bike path. Stay here and you won't need a car (but a parking pass does come with the room). Start your day in the living room breakfasting with others heading out to adventure and end your day with a soak in the cedar hot tub at the edge of the stream. Feels like home.

“Very comfortable stay” Our second time to stay in this condo was as good as the first. My son really enjoyed having his own bedroom/bath. Took advantage of the many amenities including washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fireplace, and Tv's in all rooms. The condo was quite spacious and the location on the slopes was terrific for ski in/ski out - overall a very comfortable experience.

“Great View” The room and loft were very adequate. Very clean and everything you needed was available. The only downfall is the parking arrangements. Parking garage is 35.00 nightly. This is new since I last visited Telluride. I would rather stay downtown at one of the hotels where you could acquire a parking permit to park on the street or in their private lots. Not much happening in the mountain village after ten. The high price for parking will be the death of the businesses in the mountain village.

Riverside Condos A103

Telluride apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Lovely setting, convenient to town and gondola.” This was our second stay in this unit, 15 months apart. Spacious enough for parents and 2 twenty-somethings. Having an in-unit laundry and being on one level are great after days of skiing. Extremely convenient location to walk to restaurants and the gondola for skiing. The only negative: the motion sensor light on the shared outdoor hot tub came on briefly all night long for the entire week, and shone in the master bedroom window. There were no people out there. This could be remedied by the unit owner installing black-out shades or by management putting a shade on the light to direct it downward. We did speak to maintenance about this and the tilt of the light was adjusted but not enough to make a different.

“Amazing January Stay” The location could not have been better, the studio was great. It was very centrally located on the beautiful mountain. We went snowboarding and wished for some snow and that we had planned to stay longer, what a great place I plan on coming back. Only small complaint was the bed and pillows were terrible. Telluride is a great place love it.

“Cozy room set in a great location.” Our stay here was really nice. The community kitchen provided fresh coffee and a breakfast selection every morning. For those who want to cook a meal, all tools are provided for stovetop and oven meals. You are sharing this space with others so you may have to wait your turn. We did not cook so it was never an issue for us. The manager was quick to respond to our request for a humidifier. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. They have an old wooden hot tub that sits in a closed room with an open roof. It was nice after a day of skiing. As for location, it was great! Our car never left the parking spot after we unloaded the first day. The gondola is a block away and main street is a two minute walk. I definitely recommend this inn.

“great location and staff was exceptional!!” this was our first time to the region so didn't know what we were getting into and what a lovely surprise! The kids could walk to the lifts and into town ( one was 11 years old) and the place was clean and comfortable. Management helped us in anyway possible and the breakfasts were great and hearty for skiing. If your going to Telluride and want to ski, hang with your family cooking and walk around for a few great bars.. stay here!

“Great Family vacation home” We had two families stay here with three kids under five. It was perfect! There is enough space for the kids to run around but open enough to keep an eye on everyone. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked dinner several nights during our stay. The the grocery store and gondola to Mountain Village were about a three minute drive away so easy to pop out for anything we forgot. We kept our boots and skis in Mountain Village which made getting kids and a variety of ski paraphernaila to the slopes a breeze. Telluride and Mountain Village are both lovely. The people were friendly and helpful, the towns were clean and everything seems quite well run. The management company was very responsive and easy to work with. I think the only negative (if you can even consider it a negative) was how warm the house was! A few open windows and we were just fine... We're already talking about booking for next year!

Legacy House

Telluride house

4 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Great location; lots of space” We rented Legacy House for our family and out of state relatives to stay in to attend my daughter's wedding in Telluride. It's close to the gondola and all the restaurants and shops. The bedroom set up was nice - a nice variety as far as queen, twin and bunk beds, and each bedroom had it's own bathroom along with a half bath off the kitchen. Lots of TV's too which is nice with a big crowd, The house was clean, there was extra bedding in the closets, nice large dining room table. The one drawback is the garage - it's tiny and difficult to pull into. I recommend letting your passengers out before you pull in - if you're not centered one side of the car may not be able to open their door far enough to get out. We have a minivan, but if you have a very small car this may not be a problem. This wouldn't keep me from recommending the house though; everything else was great.

About Telluride

Nestled in a box canyon in the southwest corner of Colorado and surrounded by the highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in the state, Telluride is the crown jewel of the Rockies.

Founded as a mining town in the late 1800s, Telluride's history is rich and its scenery is undeniably some of the most beautiful in Colorado. Telluride was designated as a National Historic District in 1964. The blend of historic architecture, mountain vacation rentals, spas and independent restaurants make any visit unforgettable. Linked by a free gondola, the historic Town of Telluride and European-styled Mountain Village effortlessly blend luxury and sophistication with authentic charm and mountain sprit.

A Summer Playground

Telluride, many locals will tell you, is a place where people come for the winter, then stay for the summer. Few places rival Telluride's scenery, outdoor activities and unique spirit, and its designation as "Festival Capital of the Southwest" means there is never a shortage of activity.

Nearly every summer weekend, visitors and locals have the chance to celebrate everything from music to independent films, craft beer, yoga and more. From the Memorial Day kick-off of Mountainfilm to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the lauded Telluride Film Festival, the diverse event offerings appeal to virtually all tastes and passions. Summer guests can also enjoy a variety of outdoor adventure including hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, golfing rafting, horseback riding, rafting, jeep tours, stand up paddle boarding and much more.

A Gourmet Dining Boom

After a hard day's play in the mountains, visitors can unwind at one of Telluride's exceptional restaurants. Recently voted one of the "Best American Cities for Foodies" by Condè Nast readers, Telluride offers a variety of culinary delights that satisfy the most discerning palates.

Getting To Telluride

Getting to Telluride has never been easier with two convenient airport options - Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) and Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ). Direct flights are available from eight major hubs during winter, and three hubs during summer.

In pedestrian friendly Telluride and Mountain Village, no car is necessary once you arrive, and a variety of transportation companies offer airport shuttle service.

Winter: Hiking Boots To Ski Boots

When the snow starts to fall, Telluride transforms into a winter wonderland. Voted the #1 ski resort in North America by readers of Condè Nast Traveler for the second year in a row, Telluride offers more than 2,000 acres of incredible terrain for all ability levels. A wide variety of other winter activities in addition to skiing are also available, including snowshoe and snowbike tours, snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, sleigh rides and more. The ski season runs from Thanksgiving to early April.

Cimarron Lodge 20
Cozy comforts of home, seconds from the lift!

We stayed for 7 nights in unit #20 and were very happy!. We arrived late at night, and the staff made it easy to retrieve the keys using the locked keypad (right next to the front door). The unit was clean and had all the amenities needed for 2 people. The 2nd floor unit is about a 45 second walk to the lift, and this unit has a storage locker for skis just below. It's easy to walk to everything in town within 10 minutes, and the shuttle is convenient and picks up right outside the lodge. We weren't sure about the hot tubs, but they turned out to be easy to use, nice and hot each time, and the other guests seem considerate about not taking up too much time (there are 2 hot tubs for the community). The garage parking was great also. We would definitely stay here again.see more

Love the hotel, the vibe & the location, breakfast not so much

perfect in town location is half block to gondola and close to restaurants & shops. Not a fan of the (included) breakfast as it is not cooked to order. The only hot entrees are overcooked scrambled eggs that sit out for the duration of the breakfast hours getting harder & harder, alternating with a quiche that might not be to your liking. not a great variety of breads (considering Baked by Telluride is 2 blocks away) and no pancake/French toast/waffle option either. Overall the hotel is charming, the staff accomodating & location can't be beat...winter or summer!see more
Mountainside Inn #209
I'd Never Stay Anywhere Else

We took a group of nine to the inn, renting four rooms, including the large three-bedroom unit overlooking the river. This isn't a pretentious place by any means, but the rooms were well-appointed, and the customer service was the best I've encountered anywhere, right down to the home-baked muffins, hard-boiled eggs, and delicious organic coffee provided in the lobby. The location is ideal, within easy walking (or ski in/out) distance of anything in Telluride. The hosts provide excellent recommendations as well as directions. The hot tub is extraordinarily large (about 7 x 14 feet) and deep (4 feet). Perfect after a long day enjoying nature. Telluride itself is probably the best ski town in North America, with well-preserved architecture, a broad variety of excellent cuisine, and amazingly few people. Mountainside Inn offered exceptional hospitality and value. It's the only place I would stay durings future visits.see more
