“Laid back.” Beautiful view. Easy beach entry into the bay. Nice pool and two large covered verandahs. Comfortable and quiet. Super staff in Elyssia and Francisco.

“Beautiful Setting, Relaxing Stay” This is our second visit to Tankah Bay and it's pretty hard to beat our first stay. This was definitely comparable. The house was beautiful, clean, spacious and perfect for what we wanted. The caretakers were absolutely wonderful and very accommodating for our needs. I recommend taking advantage of their cooking skills, it will add to your relaxing experience and the food was excellent. Everyday you can stroll on the beach, take a swim, snorkel and kayak. Everything is right there, almost no need to leave the property. Within walking distance you have the Manatee Cenote, I highly recommend, just go early because it can get busy. Also, within walking distance, you have two bar/restaurants. My favorite part of the day was relaxing under the palapa, right on water, watching the birds hunt and dive. The beach side of the villa also offers privacy with a patio and lounging areas sheltered by hedges. I'd like to give a special thank-you to the property manager who provided us with fresh eggs from a local farm when the grocery store ran out of them just before Christmas. The Tulum ruins are a must see, as well as the Coba ruins. If you are adventurous, you can climb largest ruin in Coba and get an amazing view of the jungle. I could go on and on about how amazing this place is, but, you'll have to find out for yourselves! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this stunning villa. A much needed escape from the gray and cold of winter.

“Relaxation!!” Could not have asked for a more relaxing vacation! The condo was stocked with everything that one would need! The complex was soon nice and quiet. Having the bikes there to use was so much fun! All of the bike paths in Tulum made it so easy to get around! And don't get me started on the beautiful beaches! Highly recommend!

“Better than we could have imagined” We just got back from a weeks stay at the lovely Casa Caribena. My husband and I booked the house for 1 week with 10 other people. All adults, a mix of couples and singles. I really cant say enough good things about the staff of Casa Caribena and the house itself. The location is beautiful, the views from every balcony in the house, the food!! Believe the hype, it was fantastic. The staff are all so sweet and helpful. The house was always clean, very spacious. You will have trouble deciding where to hang out, as there are so many wonderful spots around the house. The roof top was a favorite of mine. I did yoga up there every morning and it was a quiet heaven. The beach is a bit rocky as others have indicated, but it was beautiful and clean nevertheless (not a negative at all). The sand is soft and nice, but just when you get out to the water it's a bit rocky. Many days we took the kayaks out and snorkeled from there. We saw tons of wildlife right from the beach. The Tulum Ruins and shops are a quick cab ride away. I felt completely safe the entire time. I would go back in a heartbeat! I will say, the electricity in our room went out in the middle of the night one night. I told Lily, and received a call from Lisa (the homeowner) within an hour, saying they were working on it and she was so sorry. It didn't cause us any problems at all and it I was actually nice to be able to see how accommodating and quick they were to fix a "problem" if you even want to call it that :) There's also a nice restaurant and Cenote a few houses down that you can walk to. Blue Sky (the restaurant) had great food, drinks and staff. Casa Caribena is truly such a gem! Heaven on earth!

“Perfect Home Base” My friend and I stayed at this townhouse in mid-March 2013. Aside from a minor hiccup upon arriving, everything was wonderful. It is located in a private area off the main road so there is no traffic noise. Yet it is in a perfect location to explore all the local sights. The beach is more like a 15-20 min drive away and really not practical to get to on a bicycle. There are a number of fine white sand beaches to visit, though our favorite was Ziggy Beach. You are near the Mayan ruins in Tulum, Muyil, and Coba. The Sian Kan Biosphere reserve is also nearby. The town of Tulum is a sleepy Mexican town by comparison to Cancun or Playa, which still has numerous fine restaurants for dining. The townhouse itself is well appointed (except no TV) and well maintained. We took advantage of the patio for dining all the time. It is a very comfortable house for four people and a bit more of a squeeze for six (having to use the futons in the living room for beds at night. The townhouse is inside a small gated community with a private pool and you will feel very safe. If you are looking for something a bit different and not wanting to stay at a big resort, this would be a fine alternative. You will definitely need a car.

“utter relaxation” My family of 5 (3 sons aged 9, 13, 15) spent a week at Casa Dena over Easter. The house is very comfortable and well appointed. The caretakers are lovely and fabulous cooks. Steve's flexibility to rent us only 2 bedrooms was really appreciated. The views are fantastic from the back of the house as well as the roof. We were aware that the beach directly in front of the house was not swimmable, so the boys climbed the rocks looking for sea life and iguanas when we were at home, and they swam at other points down the beach. Very secluded and private home which is what we like. Could do with a couple more comfy lounge chairs and/or pillows for outside, but all in all exactly what we needed.

“Can't wait to go back!” The house was gorgeous! We went with 2 other couples and 2 teenagers - it was perfect for our group. We loved the decks on different levels - our group was able to spread out nicely in the house. The pictures of the inside of the house don't do it justice - the furnishings were very nice and the house is well stocked with games, beach bags and a cooler. And the beds were very comfy! We also loved how one of the bathrooms had a door to the outside so you didn't bring in a bunch of sand every time you used the bathroom The house was easy to book and the owners were extremely helpful and answered all of our questions pre-trip The beach is lovely. We had a great time beach combing and watching the pelicans. Maria and Bernadino were great. We had them cook dinner for us one night and it was amazing. They set the table for us, cleaned up and packed up leftovers. There was enough food left over for dinner the next night. We loved Tulum. We were in Mexico at the height of spring break, yet we had the beach to ourselves. The kids loved Matinee cenote and we arranged a snorkle/dive trip with the dive shop at the end of the road. 2 people in our group are divers, but the rest of the group wanted to snorkel. They were able to accommodate the entire group and we had a great time

“Excellent Family Vacation” My family and I had a wonderful time at Casa Caribena. We met 4 other families there (who also had kids). The location is the best you can find...right on the beach in a gorgeous, safe spot. The coral right outside our door provided tons of snorkeling fun for the adults and great tide-pooling for the kids. (I do recommend everyone bring water shoes so you can play more comfortably in the ocean). The house crew were exceptional too. They cooked and cleaned up after us, which made meals so easy for busy parents. It also made it a simple process to stock the house with food because Lily went to the store for us and saved us a ton of time (which is better spent on the beach or in the pool). The house is super clean, cool and comfortable and very large. I highly recommend to any families who are looking for a get-away but with ease and comfort for the kiddos. P.S. I also give huge kuddos to Lisa who answered endless questions from me and so was patient and kind. She was wonderful to deal with and made us feel welcomed. I'd definietly come back!!!

“Great stay but some repairs needed” My husband and I plus a friend stayed at Casa Cavu and very much enjoyed it. The bay is so close that you have wonderful views from every room, and the pool is great and sparkling clean. Isidro and Rosio could not be better caretakers. I have never seen a more thorough housekeeper and Isidro cooked a fabulous dinner for us one evening - the tortilla soup is unreal! My criticisms have to do with the upkeep of the house itself. The owners really need to have some maintenance done on the outside. On our first night a light in our ceiling went out because water seeped into the recessed fixture. A bit of water was also coming down along the wall. Grant it, the rain was really pounding, but from the outside you can easily see cracks and areas of repair that are needed. A paint job is in order too. Really the outside looks kinda shabby and does not match the inside. Isidro and Rosio do such a nice job of making the place pretty and welcoming that it's a shame the exterior is not matching. Some attention to the upstairs outside deck would also go a long way. This did not stop us from enjoying the house, and we did a lot of cooking ourselves in the spacious kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are cute too, though they are showing some real wear also. We routinely sat out on the patio and enjoyed cocktails as the sun went down. The kayaks are great. Akumal Direct was very easy to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to book through them again. Management was very responsive and did their best to accommodate our request for a coffee grinder (which is impossible to find) as well as bringing us a couple of much-needed small, plastic tables to have by the lounge chairs. All in all, a wonderful stay. I just hope the owners keep the place up!

“A beautiful, large, private home, bring the whole family!” Casa Tortuga was a wonderful place to rest and relax or to come home to after a long day of adventure in and around Tulum. We had 4 adult couples and it was still more space than we needed. Kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed to cook our own meals and we enjoyed spending time together in the kitchen and main room preparing meals and eating and hanging out. We loved getting to use the ourdoor grill, the kayaks, the hammocks, beach chairs, etc. Gabi and Luis were excellent hosts and made us wonderful breakfasts each morning from local produce in the local styles. She also helped us set up a fishing trip and locate other services we were interested in during our stay. Would highly recommend for a family getaway as there are fun things for everybody to do, whether its hanging out and relaxing on the property or making a short drive to scuba, snorkel, hike ruins, shop, eat/drink, lounge on another beach, fish, the list goes on! Was a great place to rest and rejuvenate and still enjoy some exciting Mexican adventures.

“Amazing Villal & Vacation!!” Rarely do I ever take the time to write reviews of my hotels, villas or destinations but the team behind Villa alma Rosa is incredible and deserve a shout out! I'm an avid visitor to the Riviera Maya, Akumal & Tulum and was looking for a villa to help ring in my birthday with some friends. The communication between Marina at Riviera Maya Haciendas was incredible - quick response, courteous and happy to accommodate every need and request. Everything was organized for me according to my needs prior to arrival i.e. grocery shopping, food menus, villa prestocking, flowers, maps etc. If you're looking for a villa rental with a true "concierge" type of service then alma Rosa is right up your alley. When we arrived the house, I was really impressed at the care that goes into alma Rosa. The furnishings, details, color and character are all tastefully so done and warm that it really adds to the experience. The outdoor area/pool/beach are beautiful and well maintained, this is where we really spent most of our days/nights. The bedrooms/bathrooms are very beautiful with amazing beds/linens and furnishings. I've rented quite a few villas in the Riviera Maya and a lot of them feel cheap and have poor construction etc. Villa alma Rosa is a real home! I briefly met the owner when I first arrived who was lovely but wanted to get out of our hair so we enjoyed our time. The chef Carlos and his wife/housekeeper Jafet are the 2 sweetest people on the planet and to be honest are part of the sole reason that I would rent alma Rosa again. The food, attention and love along with hard work that they gave us every day was simply amazing and I was so grateful to have them there with us. They felt like family when we left! Overall I will absolutely be returning to alma Rosa soon but at the same time don't want to spread the word - I think this is the best kept secret & villa in the area! “Great birthday weekend” I booked this villa for a birthday weekend with my girlfriend and our closest friends. The house is HUGE, beautiful, and in pristine condition. The photos of the property look fantastic, but it looks even better in person. The house has dozens of places to sit and relax, making it the perfect property for hosting. The owner is very helpful in helping arrange plans, book transportation, and suggest sites and restaurants. The staff are friendly, make a great/simple breakfast, and keep the place spotless. Every bedroom is spacious with its own bathroom and most have balconies and places to hang out outside and see the ocean. The upstairs master bedrooms are beautiful and very romantic. When we visited the weather was beautiful and it didn't rain. The pool is beautiful and a great place to relax. A lot of use took kayaks into the ocean as well. I would suggest bringing snorkel gear as there are a lot of cool reefs and rock formations a little ways out into the water. We had a great time and would definitely come back for another special occasion.

“Paradise in the Mayan Riviera” What a magnificent place! I've rented homes online before and what I saw was not always what I got. This exceeded my expectations in beauty, location, services and comfort. Udi's home is designed to perfection. The staff couldn't be better. Martin is an amazing chef. We will definitely return. It was particularly nice to go in July when we could watch the sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach, but this would be one of my top picks anytime of the year. The bedrooms are all gorgeous and the view from the living room is spectacular. Thank you for giving us the perfect family vacation. It was exactly what we hoped for!

“Perfect stay” This is a very nice place, wonderful garden and skillfully decorated, well equipped, rooms. Very quiet, not directly at the shore line but in walking distance to half moon bay. Dan and David are so helpful with anything you might need. They are very knowledgable about the area and give great tips about what to do.

“We had a wonderful time in Mexico and villa areccife played a bi” We stayed at the villa areccife for a week in November of 2012. I am not a resort fan therefore we've rented a lot of houses in different places. And this is one of the best. It is a new, modern, well-appointed, well-equipped house. It had everything we needed. It is located in the residential part of the resort. When we stayed there only a few houses were built making the villa private and quite place. The villa staff is very nice and helpful. On our arrival despite the late hours (around 8PM) we were greeted by alex Estrella a villa manager, who also works at the resort. When we arrived at the Cancun airport late afternoon even though I reserved a car at Herz, thinking it is a respectable car rental company, there were no cars available. We had to take a taxi to the villa. Next morning alex drove my husband to a car rental place. Whenever we had problems with the villa alex was always available to deal with them. The housekeeper Diana was at the villa every day (even on Sunday) making it sparkling clean. We had a wonderful time in Mexico and villa areccife played a big role in it.
