“peace & quite with outstanding views & wild life” the house is well placed and easy to find, the layout was modern and well layed out with comfortable beds. For our first first holiday in Wales this was a good location to pick, we found plenty of places to go and eat, we dined out 6 out of 7 nights. We will defenently going back soon.

BUZZARD COTTAGE, pet friendly, country holiday cottage, with a garden in
Dolgellau house
2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4
“A luxury cabin in a magnificent mountain retreat...” The owners were friendly and helpful but not too fussy so we felt nice and relaxed as we should be on holiday. They let our unruly pet lurcher play in the field with their own lurcher so there was even a holiday romance! The cottage was like a mountain cabin - truly luxurious and a great kitchen for cooking up monster meals after a day in the hills. The bedrooms were pretty, spacious and well furnished. The setting was superb - right in the midst of the wooded mountainside and from the garden you could see the peak of Cadair Idris poking above the forests - it was more like Yosemite than Wales! You could do some great walks straight from the cottage or just venturing out for a few miles in the car although it seemed like we were staying in the deepest wilderness the town of Dolgellau was just down the road for the shops and there was even a Breton onion-seller peddling his wares in the town centre when we were there. Although the weather was a bit wet we had a magnificent week - far exceeding our expectations. The only downside was the free range cattle that roamed around the cottage at night so I couldn't take the dog out for his late night walk. Also they only do Friday to Friday bookings so we missed a day of our holiday as we can't get out of work on Friday and can't generally leave home until Saturday.

“Llety'r Bugail, Dolgellau” Llety'r Bugail is a fantastic property set right on the uplands above Dolgellau, with fabulous views over Cadair Idris and the mountain ranges. It was beautifully clean, well equipped and, more than anything else, dry! The North Welsh weather let us down for the first time ever, but since this was about our 40th trip, it is hardly indicative of what one can normally expect. The area was beautifully quiet, with few but very friendly neighbours, and there was enough wildlife to keep the most ardent of naturalists quiet for a goodly while. As a result of little or no light pollution, particularly late at night, the night skies were absolutely outstanding, and the provision of patio furniture enhanced the experience. There are plenty of shops nearby to assuage the hunger of all but the greediest of tourists, and the cottage is a great centre for exploring all of Gwynedd and beyond. We had a superb week, and greatly enjoyed what was provided. As an added bonus, the blackberry bushes were in full fruit, so the resultant pies/crumbles were a joy to behold, and something that the supermarket didn't supply. (Mind you, they did provide the custard!) All round, an excellent place to get away from the lunatic world we all live in, and recharge the addled brain.

TY CERRIG, pet friendly, character holiday cottage with a garden in Llanbedr
Llanbedr house
2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4
“Peace and tranquility in Llanbedr” This was our second stay at Ty Cerrig and on both occasions booking the cottage was simple and straightforward, made easier by friendly staff. Ty Cerrig is ideal for our needs although the large settee in the lounge is getting a bit tired, the rest of the cottage is well appointed. The log-burning stove was most welcome at nights. The enclosed garden is ideal for our dog and there are plenty of local walks for his exercise. We know the area very well, there are take-aways in Harlech and the local pub has a good extensive menu. I think the most important factor for me is the peace and quiet the location offers, surrounded by fabulous countryside

“A home from home...” An idyllic location with a house full of all the essentials for a short family break. Both children and Grandma were happy! Would definitely recommend for others, families or even couples looking for a luxury break. The kitchen was so well equipped you could even hold a dinner party! A fabulous break and defnitely a true home from home...

“terrific base in a terrific place” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is ideal for relaxing locally and as a base for travelling around the area. The house is superb with everything away from home catered for. There are some beautiful beaches down the road and within easy reach. The neighbours were lovely and helpful also. Thank you

OWL COTTAGE, pet friendly, country holiday cottage, with a garden in Dolgellau
Dolgellau house
2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4
“Peaceful secluded cottage” The cottage was well equipped, however may have been beneficial to have a washing machine if we were to stay longer than a week. It was very peaceful and had lovely views over the area. If you like cycling the Coed-y-Brenin trail centre was a 45 minute ride away. Not walkable into town for small children, however the town has a great big play area behind the large bridge. The skylight in the main bedroom was very noisy when it rained hard. Overall a great stay in a lovely area.

“Value for money in the Welsh countryside” Friendly greeting from Farmer's wife next door. Property was ideal for large family group (3 generations from teenage to 60s). Lots of bathrooms and different areas. Very popular was the hot tub and games room. Farmer drove us up the local Mountain and we walked back down. It may be too remote for some but was ideal for us

“Where mountains meet the sea” We had a wonderfull time in this house. A part of our holiday we stayed with our 3 teenagers. 1 week another family of five(friends) stayed with us. The house is comfortable, has very nice views (sea and mountains) The housekeeper is friendly and is helpfull if anything is not working. The walks on the beach-Shell Island, from the house to the hills and the Snowdon region will stay in our remembrance.

HEN ARGOED COTTAGE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage, with a garden in
Pen-Sarn house

“a relaxing experience” Knowing the area extremily well and just wanting a quiet winter half term break with our five and six year olds, we were far from disappointed with Hen argoed. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Loved the history of the cottage with its modern amenities. As we experienced fab weather for February, the view at the top of the lane in a morning, and out of the bathroom window(on tip toes) set you up for the day. Can't fault it and wouldn't hesitate in going again or recommending.

RAILWAY COTTAGE, family friendly, with a garden in Fairbourne, Ref 4268
Fairbourne house
3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 5
“A very enjoyable week” We arrived to find a beautiful well decorated cottage with nice gardens front and back. The cottage was very spacious, very well fitted out with everything you would need to make the stay comfortable. We was welcomed with a supply of tea, coffee, sugar and bread and a nice bottle of wine. The bed linen and towels were of good quality and clean. We were located very near the railway station so if we didn't want to drive we could still get out and about. The only bad thing we could say is the private road we had to drive up to get access to the cottage was not maintained and unfortunatley the weeks before our holiday the weather was terrible and the road was full of big pot holes full of dirty rainwater. The week we were there the weather was very good and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to our friends and family.

“Fell in love with Pensarn Hall.” Had a wonderful time staying here, clean, warm, and very comforable, all kitchen equipment supplied, absolutely loved it, didnt want to leave Central for all the places we wanted to visit. My only little ctiticism would be, that it wasn't sign posted and we had terrible trouble finding it, had to go and ask in the shop.

“Great place to stay!” Really lovely cottage, which although is on a main road, when inside you don't hear the traffic at all. Nothing negative to say - nice beds, nice facilities, nice kitchen, great log burner... a really well presented place. And a great location from which to explore snowdonia. 10 out of 10!
