“Beautiful home and wonderful memories” We stayed for less than a week with two children around Christmas, and it was absolutely a delight!! The villa itself is beautifully decorated, modern and there's always things to do for everyone --the pool is lovely and well maintained, the veranda offers a fantastic view, we also used the massage tables and kids dvd. The villa is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from Jalan Kejang, which leads to ubud center, yet it's hidden from all the noise. The slope is a little steep but we loved it too, even with a baby push chair it was no problem. All staff members we met were friendly and pleasant. We loved the breakfast Wayan made every morning, couldn't find a better way to start a day. Overall a very nice experience, and we would definitely go back again next time we visit ubud!!

““Immaculate, serene, authentic Ubud experience!”” This was our first visit to Bali. We have four children aged 13 down to 8. We spent four days in a very swish villa in Nusa Dua but the highlight of our stay was our four days in Ubud, staying in Villa Santana. I was nervous booking it because I had no idea what to expect of Bali but I was comforted by the reviews that Kasey's villas receive and let me tell you, we weren't disappointed. In fact, I'd say that the photos don't do it justice and it's even better in real life. From the moment I made the booking, Kasey, who owns the villa, made it a smooth and easy process. Not only does she employ fantastic staff and maintains the highest standards but it's all the little extras that made the difference. Once we had booked Kasey sent us a comprehensive guide detailing the names of her beautiful staff (they're amazing and nothing is too much trouble), who we could call to organise our trip from Nusa Dua to Ubud, places to eat, things to do, etc. We used her guide the whole time we were there and had some wonderful meals because of it. So, the rooms are great. The two top bedrooms look out over the rice paddies and there's nothing more serene and beautiful than to wake up to that view. It was just what we needed. The two youngest children had single beds downstairs and we all had our own bathroom. The kids loved the pool and we had some wonderful family time playing Marco Polo (I hope we weren't too loud!) and lazing by the pool on the many sunbeds or outdoor sofas and chairs. I was a bit tired on the second day so Komang, who is truly one of the most beautiful, joyful and accommodating men we've ever met, offered to take my daughter and I into town on his and Vera's scooters to buy some gluten free food for my daughter. We had so much fun. They then continued to offer us lifts from then on, which was very kind as it was very hot in the middle of the day. Komang's mother and father are to be met on the path on the way into town, where his father sells young coconuts for only a dollar. He cuts it open for you, and then after you've had the coconut milk/water, which is over a litre's worth, he then cuts up the coconut flesh. One was enough to feed our whole family of 6. He then showed us how he climbs the coconut trees - very impresive - and then showed us some plants that are grown in the area (vanilla beans, lemongrass and rice). Such a kind and simple man who wants for so little yet seems so full of peace and joy. One of the highlights of our stay was the night that Kasey organised for Putri, a young 13 year old girl, to come in and put on her makeup in front of us and traditional costume and then danced for us. It was very special. She was truly amazing. Putri's friend made up my daughter's face and then they dressed her in the traditional Balinese dance costume. We could hardly recognise our daughter - she looked so striking with the special makeup and dress. We have a girl and three boys and even the boys found this to be a very special night. It's a definite must!!! Payment is by way of donation for a local education project so it was doubly rewarding to have such a great experience and to be able to contribute to a worthy cause. We also recommend the Eco Cycling Tour, which Vera or one of the staff members can arrange for you. In fact, they'll help you with anything. The tour was downhill so the cycling was no trouble for our four children and for someone like me who hasn't had a lot of cycling experience. Very easy and enjoyable and a great lunch to be had as well. When I was looking to book a villa in Ubud many of the places that looked amazing in the photos, didn't have the best reviews, particularly around cleanliness, etc. We were so fortunate to have found Villa Santana because it was everything that the description said it would be and, once we got to see around the area, it really is one of the best positioned villas amongst the rice fields. A big thank you to Kasey, Komang, Vera and Desek and to Gede who drove us to and from Ubud. I would note that if you have anyone in your party who has difficulty walking then this villa may prove difficult because you do need to walk from where the dropoff point is. We loved the fact that we got to walk because there was so much to see along the way, but it may prove a problem for anyone who is constricted in their walking.

“a true gem in the middle of paradise!” I stayed at Villa Siri for 3 weeks while on a trip to study yoga and co-work at Hubud. From start to finish my stay was fantastic. Firstly, the owner Kasey was so kind and helpful. She really understands the essence of great hospitality and all details of the villa reflected her meticulous standards. The villa itself was very comfortable and well appointed with everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend getting up at sunrise to see view from the veranda on the second floor. Like I said, paradise! There are four full time staff overseeing Villa Siri and three other villas on the property all owned and operated by Kasey and her husband. The staff was so friendly and thoughtful, and were there to help with everything from preparing a great breakfast everyday to managing laundry service. Another thing that was really impressive is that the house was cleaned everyday by the staff which really added to the experience. I plan on coming back to Bali frequently and Villa Siri will be my home away from home on my future trips. Thanks Kasey, and see you soon!!

“Even better than the photos - just beautiful” Stayed a week at Geoffrey's lovely villa with family including our 5 month old daughter. Such a great property, beautiful gardens and wonderful place to stay in a good neighbourhood. Just a 15-20 min walk to Ubud with plenty of great walks and dining options locally. The property is even more beautiful than the photos suggest. Very comfortable lodgings and lush gardens. The staff were very friendly and took great care of us and the property while we were there. All of us felt very fortunate to stay in this fantastic villa - highly recommended!

“Oasis in Ubud” We stayed at this beautiful little villa for 5 nights and it was fantastic, it is a private villa that is close to everything. The staff were exceptional and the owner Kath & Wayan were helpful with anything required including sending back a forgotten piece of clothing! I highly recommend anyone looking for a lovely villa that is close to everything, there is no need for a taxi as you can walk to all the key parts of town. Lastly breakfast is great - icing on the cake.

“Awesome!” Villa Manis is so beautiful! Very close to centre 15min walk yet quiet location. The villa design incl interior is awesome, Mary Lee has definetly a good taste and talent, with attenion to details - everything you need are there and she made herself available to queries, so no need to worry about anything. Surely I'd like to return back whenever visiting Ubud.

“Paradise called Villa Sagitta” We loved the garden paradise called Villa Sagitta – thank you so much Robert and his wonderful team for helping make our stay so special. The architecture, art works and magnificent views of the gorge are really a special experience – we’ll remember this place with great affection. PS: Thank you also to Ketut (the driver) for his wonderful insights into Balinese culture.

“A Wonderful 'Getaway' Villa” I've visited Bali on multiple occasions over the last 10 years but after my wife, 18-month old son, a friend, and I spent 4 nights at the villa in Penestanan, I will never bother looking for anywhere else to stay. The villa is extremely well thought out and designed to make the best use of the space with a reasonable size swimming pool and garden area for enjoying the sun. The two double bedrooms are beautifully furnished and boast exquisite outdoor bathrooms. The kitchen/dining/living area is open plan and extremely spacious even for several adults. It is clear that a tremendous amount of thought has gone in to ensuring you want for nothing and caters for your every need; in addition to the large fridge/freezer, 3-burner gas hob, flatscreen TV, DVD player, iPod dock, and wifi, it is also supplied with a toaster, juicer, coffee plunger, umbrellas, and inflatable beds for the swimming pool! Not only does the villa ooze quality, but it is also fabulously appointed in an extremely quiet neighbourhood, yet only 5 minutes walk to the well known The Bridges restaurant and Murni's warung. We all left the villa planning how soon we could return! I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

“Back to paradise” How excited I was to enjoy yet another stay at this beautiful hidden oasis. This time I was back with the family(husband and 2 teenage boys). Again, I was mesmerised by the tranquillity and ambience of Teras Sungai. It truly felt like coming home. There is no other place in all of Bali that I can truly relax and recharge the batteries. Again, I found the villa to be meticulously clean. The staff are on hand to make your stay as carefree and memorable as they can. Again, the breakfast, juices and service was top class. No request was ever a problem for Wayan Snr. The hosts Wayan and Kath Were always available to answer questions and offer advice. My only complaint was, that I didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. So Teras Sungai, it is not goodbye because I will be back to soak up the magic once again.

“Peaceful Retreat” We stayed here inFebruary, we were looking for a place to escape and relax. This villa was perfect. The owner was prompt in replying to our emails and Ketut was so helpful during our stay. We hired a motorbike to go into Ubud but loved the cafes in the little village so much that we ended up spending most of our time eating there. There were some leaflets for local businesses in the villa which we found very helpful too. The only negatives would be that it is very hard to find in a taxi (definately recommend pickup by Ketut)and that it is not a very private villa (but this didn't bother us at all).

“Perfect Villa” I and my wife and family (including our twins) stayed at Villa Kelusa for three nights in November 2014. One of the reasons why we wanted to stay there was because the pictures of the villa we saw on the internet were very attractive. We did have a little doubt that the real conditions would not be as good as the pictures. However, when we arrived at the villa (despite the villa's location which is not too close to the center of Ubud), the real conditions turned out to be the same as and even better than the pictures themselves. We loved the villa very much, the ambience, the view, the pool and also the manager and staff. Their hospitality and service deserve two thumbs up. The facilities were also great, they even have a good internet connection and cable TVs. If you ask us whether we want to stay again at the villa, given our impressions above, it seems that our answer will be crystal clear and that is a yes :)

“Best Spot in Ubud... Maybe even Bali!” We loved Villa Via (and Villa Jepun and Hibiscus). Yes we stayed in all three villas on four separate stays in 6 weeks of travel in Bali. We travelled all over the island and continued to return to the beauty, calm, cleanliness and privacy of the villa's at Devi's Place. Villa Via was our favourite of all three. The beautiful clean kitchen allowed to do much of our cooking on our own, and when we didn't feel like it, the lovely staff coordinated food delivery for us. We also had the option to order from Murdi, part of the Devi's Place team who made amazing home cooked Indonesian food, and some delicious western dishes too. The staff go above and beyond, always friendly, available and very helpful. We loved the views of the rice fields and our early morning walks. We were on a working holiday and appreciated the reliable internet (hard to find on the island). For $5/day you can grab a motorbike that they have available for guests and go explore Ubud. The proximity to Intuitive Flow Yoga, Yellow Flower Cafe, Sari Organik and alchemy were great. We loved the short walk to Cantika Zest for the best spa treatments of anywhere in Ubud, and also treated ourselves to massages in the villa too. We left three other properties ahead of schedule to return to Devi's Place. It truly is a gem, incredible value for the experience and comfort. It was clean, no air fresheners (which are everywhere in most villas), great water pressure, beautiful and private salt-water pool, comfortable sitting area and stocked with Dvds. This place was absolutely perfect!

“Best accommodation of our entire trip” Myself and two friends travelled to Bali late in January, which was the first visit to Indonesia for all of us. Our first stop was Angel Villa and it was the best introduction to Bali we could possibly have asked for. Annie and Rod (as well as being fantastic hosts) are so knowledgeable not only of Balinese culture, but also of the local surrounds, and so for Bali novices like ourselves, we found ourselves saying "We'll ask Annie when we get back" whenever there was something we didn't fully understand, and without fail, they had the answers. Their recommendations were consistently spot on, not only for fantastic local places to eat and drink, but also for shopping destinations like for silver jewelery etc, and the best ways to get around - locally, as well as off to our next destination. We stayed in the Poolside room, which is the larger room of the two on offer, and is lovely and light, with fans and air-con to relieve the humid and hot temperatures. On days we weren't out exploring, the Villa was a fantastic place to relax - we spent a lot of time on the balai or relaxing by the pool, reading, playing cards and/or having a couple of bintangs. The gardens are exquisite and provide a brilliant oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Given it's a homestay there is a fully equipped kitchen, and while we used it for snacks only, if you were interested in cooking a 'proper' meal you'd find everything you need, and the local supermarket is a 5 min walk away. The location in Mas is great - out of the crazy-ness of Ubud which is a huge plus, but still easy enough to get in to Ubud if and when you want to. Local market is spitting distance away for all things fresh (and is a must visit), as are cheap warungs for delicious local style food, as well as slightly more expensive restaurant style places if you so desire. Great bar called Dstar which has live music a few times a week is also easy walking distance away. Oh, and did I mention the pool?!?! As hosts Annie and Rod are very respectful - there when you need them, but at the same time it really felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time. There is no curfew, and we all felt very comfortable to come and go as we pleased. And I know it' might seem like a small thing, but over our couple of weeks in both Bali and on the Gili Islands, Angel Villa had by far the absolute best water pressure of all our accommodation choices! Loved staying here, would return without hesitation.

“Wonderful hideaway in Ubud” This place is truly a gem. I stayed here for 3 weeks in April. It's in the middle of the paddi fields yet it is a short walk away from the main road in Penestanan. The villa is beautiful and it was great to come back to have your own pool and small kitchen and beautiful bathroom. My only recommendation is that the villa make available the following: - access to a motorbike/driver during the stay as it is dark and difficult to walk back at night - a local mobile phone so that you can ask questions and stay in contact with the villa management if you have to ask a question. As this villa is by itself, if something goes wrong, there was no way to contact them. Luckily they gave me a phone when I asked for it as one night, the gas in the kitchen ran out and it had to be changed immediately. - a small booklet letting guests know what they can do in the surrounding areas, amenities available such as restaurants, phone numbers, yoga studios, shopping, laundry services etc. - provide mosquito coils for the outdoor area and electric coils in the bedroom as there are alot of mosquitoes around. I had to buy my own. - provide a fan in the outdoor area as it can get very hot when the air is still. - the internet is somewhat spotty but it could just be Indonesia though. Overall, I had a really pleasant stay and would definately stay here again when I return to Ubud.

“Beautiful setting in an authentic Bali villa with everything you” Helen and Kadeo could no have been more welcoming. Helen gave us lots of information before we arrived and provided a few things we asked for including airport pick up and a brand new baby car seat. We were pleasantly surprised by the walk to the villa having imagined a bit of a trek it really was only 5 minutes through the rice paddies which we easily managed with two asleep children (aged 3 & 4) and our bags with kareoke help and a torch! It all added to a sense of adventure. In the day light this walk was wonderful and we saw beautiful views villas and lots of wildlife including ducks frogs dragonfly dogs etc to the delight of the boys. Karens breakfast was gorgeous and she was very good with the kids. The villa was beautifully decorated but so you didn't feel at home and they encouraged us to move anything around to make us happy. The two bedrooms outdoor ensuites and huge open plan living area was lovely with ceiling fans and aC. The outdoor patio, pool and Bali hut were stunning and very private with high walls and a lovely wooden door out to the paddies. We stayed 5 days and spent one at the elephant sanctuary which was well worth the pricy entrance, Kadek arranged a driver for around $30 au for 4-5 hrs. We felt quite close to Ubud centre too but didn't walk there only because it was a bit tricky on the narrow roads with kids but taxis were good and very cheap. We are at dreams cafe on the oath many times and loved the food and ambience my son started to look like banana fritters and my husband and I like nasi goreng! Amazing place and we felt so welcome thanks again to Helen for her lovely impromptu australia Day get together we were so kindly included in! Btw we took every mozzie repellant and had no problems or need for it also no sickness which is quite am achievement when your toddler eats off the floor! Highly recommend pondok iman for families or couples.

“Lovely Villa and staff exceptional.” We stayed with a 1 and 3 year old and got a local firm (Pasek will have details) to erect a pool fence which proved invaluable. Lots of steps but kept us fit! Bedrooms, furnishings, outdoor shower beautiful and position good for walking to shops etc. Only comment is I agree with a previous one that lighting in 3rd room in bathroom was dim - needs spot above mirror. Also Pool was cold! But lovely stay and I will recommend to clients. I am a travel agent. Thanks Pasek for your wonderful attention and our baby is missing you!

“Thank you Jumah” We would like to thank you Nyoman and Chaja and their super friendly staff for the fantastic stay at their villa. It's spacious and surrounding with lots of green. We love this treasure place in central of Ubud. It was not far from the central, but well located enough to enjoy the calm of Bali. The place was just like on the pictures, very well maintained. They arranged the airport transfer for us for quite reasonable price. It's worth to have the breakfast on the rooftop even if it's raining, the banana pancake is very nice. It is not a crowded beach villas location, but it is definitely worth to stay in Ubud with your private pool. The beach is in reachable distance if you want some salty water. But as you will visit a lot of places, you will see open water a lot ;) Hire a car, scooter, or driver, your life will be much easier as public transportation doesn't really exist in Bali, not least you will see more Bali's life while driving. We strongly recommend the place to everyone. Terima Kasih

“Just the break we needed” Thank you so much Barbara, Henry and Pia, for a wonderful stay in your wee bungalow. At a stressful time in our lives, your bungalow, the surroundings of Ubud and Bali itself, provided a much needed respite. Your recommendations of the lovely driver "Blue" and the local eating spots were ideal. Loved the outdoor shower, and everything we needed was provided for. Wine glasses in the bungalow would be helpful but we did have access to them in the larger house, so not really a problem. very comfortable bed and great breakfasts each day. Hope we can return some day.

“Our Palace for a week.” I spent a week at this wonderful villa for Xmas 2013 with my wife and 2 kids ages 12 &14 . We called it our palace. Rather than repeat what has been said, I'll just say I completely agree with the next couple of positive reviews titled "Magic @ Majestic" and "gorgeous spot". I realized quickly having someone like Wayan with you was a big bonus. He knows everyplace to go. He'll get you there and then wait for whenever you are ready to move on. If he sees you trying to get across a busy street in Ubud, he will fearlessly jump in front of traffic to clear a path. He has the same attitude to get a great restaurant table for you. As a great guide, I realized he always took the routes that would allow us to see the most beautiful sites, without us asking. Lot's to see and do in all directions, but we were happy not to be staying in the middle of all the scooters and tourists in Ubud. He gave us a phone so we could always reach him, without fail. For being gone all day, I thought the fee of 350k Rp very reasonable for a really nice van with Wayan. The housekeeper is very sweet and lovely. Make sure to load up at the grocery store because some days you're not going to want to leave the villa. Regarding other reviews, I wonder if they found anywhere in Bali that they were satisfied. The Villa is on a very small country road with little traffic and you would have a really hard time finding something more peaceful. Nobody on the road can see anything going on at the Villa, inside or by the pool. We all managed the walk round the pool and up the stairs entrance just fine, but for the very elderly and very young it would be concerning, depends on your group I guess. The staff brought all of our gear to and from the Villa for us. The kitchen worked fine for us with granite counter tops and 2 nice fridges, plus all the other things you might need. David who owns the Villa is great at coordinating the stay and providing answers to any question.

“Peaceful jungle hideaway” Villa Damee is remote enough to feel like you are in a slice of your own private jungle heaven, yet is still an easy drive to the attractions of Ubud. You have to walk across a little path over the rice paddies to get to the villa, which is so pretty and quite good fun! The villa itself is architecturally impressive and interesting. The furniture and interior design is interesting and beautiful. The house has two double bedrooms so ideal for our party (two couples). The kitchen and dining areas are spacious and fun for partying in. The bathrooms are semi-open so only come here if you are OK with the occasional bug! The pool gets a lot of shade - because the property is almost hewn into the hillside underneath the rice paddies, hence it is totally surrounded by luscious greenery. Bird-watching and simply sitting in silence and enjoying the peace was blissful. You can occasionally hear the neighbourhood gamelan practice in the evenings. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - Ketut, Wayan and the rest of the team - thank you! Also the owners were very helpful and polite and accommodating during the booking process. I think, if I had just one area to be hypercritical, the food could be SLIGHTLY improved. But it's still great for the price and it's lovely to have the staff prepare your meals as you relax by the pool. We enjoyed massages and fresh coconuts all at our leisure at home. Overall it was also very good value. Definitely recommended!

“Ubud Paradise” Upon arrival, I was blown away by how gorgeous the Villa was! The vibe and environment was so completely in sync with the spirit of Bali, I felt completely at peace and zen. I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5 stars all round!
