“Amazing house!” Having just spent a long weekend at Dalkeith House with the family I would highly recommend it! The accommodation is definitely 5 star luxury...large comfortable lounge with wood burning fire, TV room to chill out in, opulent dinning room where there is plenty of dinner service for you to enjoy a meal at the huge table and also a full china set that we enjoyed serving afternoon tea in! The kitchen has everything you will ever need and the breakfast room that looks out into the garden. The bedrooms are all spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are well decorated and everyone commented on how good the showers were! The house has a sound system that you can connect your i-pod to listen to your music in the lounge, dining room and breakfast room. The house is located in the main square in a quiet village so is perfect for getting away from it all. Thank you Barbara for a lovely stay at Dalkeith House.

“A lovely place to while away a week” The family are extremely helpful and attentive to their guests comfort, all services provided are in keeping with their website. It is a really nice spot slightly off the beaten track but very close to the main roads in the area. The only thing lacking for the holiday was summer weather which seems to have deserted the UK this year.

“Wonderful luxury home” We stayed at shore croft for a week from 27th June to 4th July. Having looked at the photos online prior to arrival, and read the reports, we knew it would be good, but it even surpassed expectations. Everything you could need was supplied and everything was of top quality. The complimentary champagne and smoked salmon were soon demolished! The large garden is totally enclosed which was great for our dog, as we didn't need to worry if the door was open. The views are absolutely stunning and little touches like the binoculars and telescope were well used. We were lucky enough to be able to barbecue on a few evenings and also enjoyed a meal at the Aultbea hotel which was good(dogs allowed in bar). The beds were very comfortable and lovely soft towels in the bathrooms. Even beach towels were available. There is a folder with lots of useful information which helped us find great deserted beaches. We were sad to leave and are already planning a return visit. Loved all the chicken ornaments!!

“Spectacular setting” We had an amazing week at Sandend. The location is stunning with views of the beach from the cottage, it always looks different depending on the light/weather/time of day. Get up early enough and you can have it all to yourself! The smell from the nearby smoke house in the morning is very evocative. There are loads of great walks nearby, our dog had the time of her life. There is lots of information leaflets at the cottage advising on all the things to do in the area. Nearby Cullen is lovely, one of the highlights of our holiday was sitting out at the picnic benches in Cullen, eating delicious fish and chips, over looking the beach in the evening sun, bliss! The cottage is truly a home from home, it has everything you could ever want, Wendy and Colin are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

“a little piece of paradise” a get away from it all holiday, where you can get back to what really matters. Therese and Peter are wonderful hosts, providing superb home-from-home accommodation, right down to the games cupboard and the wellies to borrow. We loved the chickens, lake, boat, birds, sheep, cows, paths, fields, dogs, and so on! We all want to come back next year.
