“Fantastic accomodation in a beautiful location” The owners were extremely helpful in organising our weekend break. Gruinyards far exceeded our expectations, everything from the bottle of wine down to the candles in the bathroom were a lovely touch. The location was amazing and the website does not do justice to the view over the loch.

“Luxuriously comfy base for exploring Normandy” There are too many positive features of this gite to mention in one review. The location is fantastic, a quiet rural getaway right by the canal ready for pleasant strolls or bike rides (only a 30min ride to Pontivy where there is an attractive castle). Easy access to nearby village bakery, or a quick 8min car trip for full selection shopping in Pontivy. Its central location in Brittany made it great for us to explore the region (I.e. le Faou, Landevennec, Locronan, Pontivy, Rochefort-en-terre, Josselin, Pontrieux, Ploumanach, Point de Bihit, Carnac, St Goustan, Montcontour, and more). The gite itself is so nice, we'd love to come back just to spend more time "at home" in the gite. It is spacious, bright, spotless, comfortable, well-equipped and beautiful. It was really nice having everything on one floor and easy-access showers. The beds were luxuriously comfortable, and the showers luxuriously large with abundant hot water and great water pressure. The garden is large and has beautifully fragrant flower beds - the honeysuckle perfume was a particular treat. One of our party was particularly pleased to be able to follow the FIFA World Cup on TV too! We were very glad to have the benefit of Shirley's friendly, efficient advice - local knowledge is so valuable! We would not hesitate to recommend this gite to friends! Outstanding!

“where I'd like to spend my life !” quiet, clean, fantastic house, ideal for family with small children, away from everything. perfect for my idea of perfect vacation.

“Beautiful apartment and area” We spent a week at Country and Lake and found it very relaxing. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and two teenagers, 15 and 19. The apartment is located within cycling distance of Edam. It was very clean and well furnished with fresh flowers in the lounge and bedroom on our arrival. The views from the master bedroom are fantastic with windows on every side. Lovely to watch the sunrise over the lake and sunset over the fields. We had use of the hot tub and sauna which is a shared area but we did not see anyone else in this space whilst we were there. The outside area was beautiful with far reaching views. There are horses and cows/calfs in the surrounding fields. The farmer trains his horse whilst the sun is setting which is a lovely way to spend the evening. The garden is very green with many flowers and both relaxing wooden arm chairs and a large table and chairs to eat at. One slight criticism would be that there is only one large bed and the other two beds were sofa beds which were fine for the children but if it was four adults sharing the space it would have been a problem. Edam is a beautiful town, and we did think it was the prettiest place that we visited although the other towns are lovely too. We went on a windmill drive which was very interesting. The food in the Netherlands is very good and both the adults and teenagers found it delicious. Bringing some Edam cheese home is a must! Overall, a lovely relaxing stay and I would highly recommend Saskia & Onny's apartment. They are friendly and helpful on arrival and during the stay. “A relaxed escape to the country” If you have never been to Loch Ness and the surrounding areas, Alex & Janet's little hideaway is absolutely perfect as a base. No detail was overlooked: directions, Welcome pack of biscuits & chocolates which our kids loved, Separated packs of information with walks and local interests, even dog treats they understand hospitality to the letter. A home from home you only need to bring some food or pop to Tesco/Asda which was a reasonable 20miles ish at Inverness. The location was perfect we were within reach of Inverness, Fort agustus and the Fall of Foyers, which was our primary visit, and on a clear night which we were lucky to have one the night sky is something to see. If you are a family looking for walks we found that the forestry commission walks were best as they were marked out by difficulty and colour coded posts throughout the chosen walk (avoids embarrassing moments of getting lost). For us it was a break to escape the typical 'busy' life and a chance to reconnect with each other as a family with some board games (take some) and country air.

“Taking a break from Corporate Life” I booked Trevase Granary for a three day off-site meeting for the Board of Telefonica o2; it was perfect for this type of event as we were keen to get away from corporate life and have some quality thinking time. The barn is finished to a very high standard and every bedroom is en-suite. The kitchen has every gadget you could possibly require so we had great fun cooking together; the huge dining table allowed us to enjoy some very sociable meals. Finally the games room provided the post dinner competitive entertainment- great fun! I highly recommend this place.
