This beautiful, newly remodeled 150 year old cabin situated overlooking the rushing waters of the Watauga River, is the perfect romantic getaway cabin!
Walk up the meandering gravel path to the cabin. You can either enter through the front porch into the living room, or through the side porch into the kitchen. The kitchen has granite counters and all new appliances and is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare tasty dishes. The dining nook is just off the living room, and the living room is comfortably furnished with brushed velour sofa, window AC unit, easy chair and ottoman, woodburning fireplace, and a 42” HDTV.
The ceiling soars to a cathedral point, and along the living room wall you can spot skeletons of the beams that used to extend the loft over the entire living room. Today the laurel branch lined loft holds an easy chair and overlooks the living room, and is the perfect place to curl up with a good book.
Down the hall from the kitchen is the first bathroom, with a stone tiled shower with a regular sprayer and a rainhead above. A few steps further, walking into an addition added to the cabin a few years ago, is the laundry nook with a stacked washer & dryer.
At the end of the hall is the master suite with a Queen bed, softly lit by gentle overhead lighting and wall sconces. By the bed is a bay window overlooking the lush yard. Sliding doors swing aside to reveal the master bath with a two-person Jacuzzi soaking tub underneath another bay window overlooking the rocky forest beyond the house, and a marble-topped vanity.
Outside in the yard is a large stone firepit ring with handmade benches around it, perfect for an evening of hot dog roasting and s’mores making. The side deck by the kitchen holds a combination charcoal and gas grill, perfect for all tastes to enjoy a delicious dinner. A picnic table awaits across the street by the banks of the river. The roar of the rushing Watauga River across the road from the cabin can be heard all throughout the cabin.
Situated on a quiet gravel road that once was a portion of the ET&WNC; Railroad, “Tweetsie’s” line when she ran the route through the High Country, the peace and seclusion of the woods welcomes you. Escape and recharge at beautiful LoveJoy Cabin today!
