WHY BOOK WITH COTTAGE CONNECTION? Vacation Rentals. Privately Owned. Professionally Managed. Trusted since 1993. Cottage Connection was one of the first vacation rental companies in the Mid-coast region of Maine. Jeff and Audrey Miller, who own three vacation rental homes themselves had an aha moment when they realized they could not find anyone who ‘got it’ to manage their rentals for them. Since 1993 they have been trusted by homeowners and vacationers to “connect” each family with the perfect cottage for their vacation. As Audrey puts it; “The home they stay in becomes a personality, a part of their lore, when a family connects with the right cottage. Whether they want a rustic cabin in the woods or a high-end ocean bungalow, the right setting sets the tone for the entire vacation.” Learn more about how Cottage Connection can help make your vacation perfect!

A_Lucky_Cast_Westport_Island was the perfect spot for my party of 6 adults to enjoy a quiet & relaxing week in Midcoast Maine in autumn. The two-story house in the woods is nearly new, very well constructed and thoughtfully furnished, with four bedrooms and three fully fixtured bathrooms. There was plenty of room to spread out & have some privacy, but plenty of places to gather as a group both on the main floor & on the second floor. We didn't use the outdoor spaces & amenities much due to time of year, but the rear deck provided a great view of the sunrises over the Wiscasset River. The house is remote & on a dead-end gravel road, but still within a half-hour drive (once you figure out the winding roads) of either Wiscasset or Bath. Dining options in Wiscasset & Bath & Newcastle/Damariscotta are varied and convenient and of very good quality/value, when you don't feel like preparing meals in the large & well-equipped kitchen. And dinner our last night on the Island at the Squire Tarbox Inn Restaurant was an excellent way to wrap up our memorable week.
The staff at Cottage Connection was friendly & helpful throughout the booking process, and they were very responsive to my party's split arrival & departure schedules. Just two items that could have been improved: (1) We weren't told that household supplies (particularly paper towels & trash bags) were our responsibility after initial supplies were used; (2) the master suite lacks window treatments on the glass pane entry doors & so privacy can be an challenge at night.
Despite those small issues, the property & its location & the service were as good as any vacation rental my family members have booked in many parts of the country. Thanks to the ladies @ CCM, and thanks to the property owners for sharing their wonderful home with us!
So glad you enjoyed your vacation. We know vacations are precious times for family and friends and strive to make them as carefree as possible. Thank you for a wonderful review of this great property and our comopany.
A Lucky Cast is a great spot for a famiy and the set-up is ideal - with spread out gathering areas so adults can enjoy each other and children can be together to enjoy each other too. We will share your observation about the window treatment with the owners. Again thank you and hope to see you again soon.
