BEST APARTMENT!Brand new Royal Plaza Complex is located on the main street between the Rila and Samokov Hotels, which are the best hotels in Borovets, and occupiers are able to use the amenities of both hotels. Only 2 min. walking distance to the Gondola lift and Chair lifts. Apartment is fully furnished with high spec. Equipment & TV and comprises of entrance hall, Living room, open plan kitchen(sofa bed sleeps2),two double bedrooms (sleeps 4), bathroom/toilet and balcony overlooking the picturesque mountains, gondola station, main street shops and restaurants. Every apartment has their own secured ski depot and complex is looked after 24hrs by personnel.

“Lovely apartment”

We stayed for 10 days in March. The apartment was ideal for the 3 of us, it was absolutely spotless and in a very convenient place for the chair lifts in one direction and the gondola in the other. Although it did not bother us at all, there is quite a lot of noise at night from the various clubs and bars nearby, so if you are a light sleeper take earplugs or stay out late! Would definitely stay again.

“Basic apartment, good location... BUT, bed bugs amongst other issues.”

The apartment is centrally located, close to the slopes and to shops. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortably sleeping 4 adults. The lounge room is smaller, with a couch, table, chairs and kitchenette. Generally the apartment was comfortable to stay in, and was serviced daily by cleaners. Unfortunately there were a number of significant issues... 1. One of the beds had bed bugs, making for an unpleasant stay for one person. The owner was notified and instead of showing any remorse, seemed to suggest that there was no issue and that the company that manages the apartment should be notified. 2. The management company were not present on check-in, or at any point throughout the stay. Apparently they are separate to the reception staff (who apparently are not responsible for helping with any issues), but this was not made clear at any point. 3. There is NO wifi in the apartment. It works only in the corridor. 4. No information about the apartment, wifi, washing machine or anything was provided by the owner. We had expected an information sheet in the apartment (or emailed prior), but to no avail. In conclusion, if you're looking for a convenient place to stay at low cost, then go ahead. However, don't expect any service or information about anything. Lastly, if you don't mind the possibility of many bed bug bites, then you'll be fine!

Response from the owner Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, to be honest I was expecting a one star review as your attitude was not to notify me with anything but trying to get some money back and usually when you can't get what you want uncle tripadvisor is there to hurt the owners. Firstly, the place where you call reception is security. Where you might get your keys exchanged during off times. The management company is an office, entrance is behind the complex next main back entrance. All info about management company and key a exchange is explained in the mail when you made your final payment! We have never said we have a wifi at the apartment. There is a communal wifi for the complex where you may get some reception at some points. Regarding the facilities, all basic facilities are provided but 5 people staying at a luxury apartment for 295 pounds a week, I hope you are not expecting us to wash and cook for you! By the way why there is nothing about broken mirrors and leaving the keys at the end of term and running away is mentioned in this review! Coming to bugs! We work with very strict hygiene regulations and matresses are changed yearly, also in -20 degree to built bugs is quite impossible. I would see my doctor for other causes if I were you. Overall thank you for your custom but maybe you should stay somewhere else next time you are around.

“Luxury & Comfort”

We had a great time in Borovets and very comfortable stay at Royal Plaza A405. Royal Plaza is located between the 2 large hotels which initially were the only hotels constructed by the government. So you are right at the heart of the resort. Restaurants, bars, slopes are just aside. 2 TVs. 2 bed rooms, Will surely return back again next year.

“Clean, comfortable and well kept”

I stayed in this apartment with my husband and our 10 year old son for one week from the end of January, 2013. The apartment is right in the centre of the village; next to supermarkets, restaurants and bars. It is equidistant to the central ski area and the gondola up to the mountain; both 5 minute walk from the apartment. The Royal Plaza apartment block is extremely clean with a security desk in the reception area. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Our apartment, on the fourth floor, A405, was warm, clean and very comfortable , which was great after skiing. It had two bedrooms and both beds were comfortable and the bedding was changed during our stay. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water. The cleaning staff came to the apartment every day to change towels, tidy round, etc, which was a bonus. There was only one negative about this apartment and this was the noisy nightclub over the road. Even though we were on the top floor and the apartment had double glazing, we could still hear the pulsating music until the early hours. Luckily, as I am a light sleeper I used earplugs, but my husband can't wear them. If we were a couple or perhaps witha group of adults, we would be in the nightclubs until the early hours, but as a family we like to come back and chill out after a meal and a few drinks. Borovets, in my opinion is a lovely resort, with good skiing for people of all abilities. There are a few noisy bars, but they are present in most resorts. Overall, however, if you want a clean, comfortable apartment, which is well located to all amenities and good value for money, I would recommend A405, Royal Plaza.
