Bowness on Windermere is one of the most popular villages in the Lake District and has facilities and attractions for all to enjoy at any time of year. Numerous and varied shops, along cobbled streets are intermingled with bars, cafes and restaurants where you can refuel before enjoying one of the many walks the lakes is famous for. Windermere is the largest of the lakes and has a wide range of attractions for all including Aquarium of the Lakes, Haverthwaite Railway, Brockhole Visitor Centre and Lakeland Motor Museum to name but a few which can be accessed by car or by taking a relaxing cruise on the lake and jumping off to explore the many villages on the shores of the lake.
Old Belfield Apartment has been in the owners family for 3 generations with the original building dating back to 1794. Hidden away in an elevated position above the village of Bowness this first floor apartment has stunning views to Lake Windermere and the fells beyond and is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and tranquillity. The lounge is the only room to be found in the old building and has retained its original sash windows and is sympathetically furnished adding to its character. The mature garden with protected trees pre dating the house is perfect for enjoying a picnic or glass of wine whilst watching the boats or the sun setting over the lake.

The accomodation was very nice. The Owner was very welcoming and informative. Nice view from the lounge of the Lake. Easy to walk up and down to Bowness on Windermere. The bed was very comfortable and the whole accomodation was immaculate. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. Thanks very much for a very relaxing stay.

We were given a very hospitable reception on our arrival and had all the necessities for a pot of tea or coffee and even a slurp of sherry if we took the fancy. The stay was just what we needed and the views flawless, 15 minutes walk from Bowness where we enjoyed some nice evenings and a gentle saunter back under the star filled skies. If you are a budding chef you may find the small kitchen a bit limited, but that would be the only criticism of an otherwise clean, homely apartment, with lots of room to stretch out, relax and wind down.

The owner was very nice & helpfull. The cottage overlooks the lake, with great views from the garden. The accommodation is the top floor, and is tastefully furnished with antique furniture. The bedroom was spacious, and had a comfortable bed. The sitting area was plenty big enough for two, and it had a small kitchen area which was handy for cooking the odd meal. A very quiet location, set in large gardens, and about 15 minutes walk from the town centre. We would definitely stay here again.

The owners of the property were extremely accommodating and friendly! The property was idyllic and a lovely place to spend with my new husband and baby of 5 months! It was situated so close to the town center and would of made a lovely walk if we didn't have a pram (as there is no pathways!)There is everything you need in the property and it is very homely with amazing views of the lake! We definitely did not want to come home!!
