We stayed for 10 days over Christmas. I chose this place for its location and amenities for the price. I was not disappointed. The pictures show exactly what the place had to offer. I'll note a couple of things below that we found to be minor issues for us and that you should note. Otherwise, we highly enjoyed our stay!
First, the heater in the bathroom was either broken/malfunctioning or was inadequate. We kept the house on 64 when we weren't there and 68 when we were, but the heater in the bathroom simply couldn't keep up. It was usually around 58-62 in there which is a little cold for us, even though we tried everything to get it to heat up. The rental agency was notified and there were very nice about getting someone out to look at it.
Second, the Upper Valley Pool/Spa facilities were a total disappointment. Don't go relying heavily on those facilities. They are poorly operated. A boiler had been blown so the outdoor spas were out of service every time we wanted to use them. The pool was actually very nice at first, we swam a few laps, but a little into our stay it was unbearably cold. The indoor spa was the only thing tolerable, but even that was way too hot. The law at our home state indicates 104F or below and I can tell you that spa was hotter than that, for sure! I voiced my concerns to the attendant there but nothing ever improved.
The few days we were there before Christmas, we highly enjoyed the unit and the peace and quiet. Thereafter, however, as you can imagine in a condominium, the silence disappeared. Sometimes very late at night and very early in the morning, people could be heard either laughing, yelling, or in the case of children, screaming and crying.
We would have liked some wood for a few short, hot fires, but I understand it not being provided. Not having a car made it difficult for us to acquire any.
Lastly, looking at maps and such made it seem like the condo was close to everything. I don't feel that anything is outside of walking distance, but the actual unit in the wellington building is half way between village road and 4 oclock road. So, it's a little bit of a walk each time you need to leave the unit to either go skiing or walk downtown. Also, as others have mentioned, there are quite a few stairs as the unit is on the second floor. Having suffered a knee injury recently, I was hurting from all the stairs and walking, so just take that under advisement.
