This newly renovated seaside villa, in a popular Normandy village, is in a quiet spot. At the end of the street, is a 12km sand beach, stretching south to the historic town of Granville, birthplace of Christian Dior.
The house is a very comfortable family house, suitable for very large families or several families sharing. The house sleeps 12 very comfortably, in 6 bedrooms, and has a large enclosed private garden, good for running around, football and dogs.
There are four bedrooms with twin beds that can be converted into superking size beds if preferred and two other bedrooms, one with a queen size 140cm double bed and the other with a 160cm double bed. They are hotel quality beds, which are extremely comfortable. There are also two wooden cot beds (under 2s).
The bedrooms are situated on both floors, which allows for some extra privacy. The two downstairs bedrooms both have the twin/superking option, with a bathroom and loo shared between the two rooms. Upstairs are two bathrooms one with bath and loo, and one with a shower and a separate loo.
There are also two high chairs, and we provide potties, a baby bath, extra high chairs etc if needed. The house is also equipped with plastic plates, spoons and knives for children. On request we can provide a baby pack, including nappies, baby food etc. In fact apart from a baby buggy/pram, we try to provide everything you will need. There is a good range of toys and games for different ages, including a wendy house, trampoline, and all the necessary buckets, spades and toys for the beach.
We also supply all the towels for the beach and house, all linens and a 10kg washing machine, 8kg tumble drier, and all the shower and house cleaning products. Our aim is that you should be able to travel as light as possible. There is a good selection of books and films (over 400) in the house, both for adults and children, and Sky TV and French TNT.
St Martin is a really fantastic place for children of all ages. There is an amazing range of activities for ages from 3+. At the bottom of the street is the sailing club, which also does sand yachting, kite surfing etc. Next to it is the golf course. In the other direction is the riding school. If you take the coast road to Granville you pass another golf course and the airfield, where the brave can go parachute jumping or take a ULM flight over the bay of Mont St Michel.
There are also plenty of interesting and fun days out you can do:
The zoo and landscaped part, at Champrepus
The Elf Forest and Paint Ball at Cerences
Sienne Botanical Park at La Baleine
The Andouillerie, selling regional products at St Denis Le Gast
The lake, and junior leisure park; and horse drawn cart rides at St Martin de Bréhal
The marine museum at Regneville sur Mer
The Abbey of Lucerne and Abbey of Hambye
The Bay of Mont Saint Michel, ceramics factory
Maison de la Baie, permanent exhibition of life in the Bay, at Vains St Leonard
Guided crossings of the Bay of Mont St Michel and of Mont St Michel
Carnival at Granville the weekend before Mardi Gras
Cinema, Casino, Museum of Modern Art, Old Granville Museum, Aquarium du Roc, Butterfly Garden, Mineral Palace, Shelfish Kingdon and over 30 restaurants in Granville and another dozen or even closer (less than 10km).
If any of your party wishes to bring dogs, we have two dog kennels and runs, and there are great walks in every direction. Because the house is on the edge of the village it is very quiet, and our neighbour is a spa for horses, where the French International teams come and do their final preparation in July. Every morning from 6am to 9.30am, all summer long, you can go and watch the horses gallop along the beach through the surf.
This coast-line has the largest tides in Europe, and when the tides are very high, you can go a couple of kms up the coast and watch the salt marshes flood, which is impressive to see. The sea where we are is relatively shallow, at all but high tide, and you can see the mussel beds rising out of the sea and eat really fresh mussels in the village restaurant. It also means it is a good place to learn to swim and when the tide is out you can stand in the sea and watch the fish swimming round you....Read more

We had a great time in Maison Mielles. The house was very clean, the beds super. We have stayed in many holiday homes in the past, but this house has the best equipped kitchen we ever seen. We stayed with 9 adults and 1 child and a dog. There was enough of everything for all. Also perfect to bring your dog. Garden was fenced, no problem to leave the dog in the garden when going out. Only 5 minutes to the beach, we went to Mont st Michel, Carentan, Avarange, Utah beach, museum dead man's corner. Actually there was nothing to complain about. Not even the weather!

The property was very well described in the material we accessed via the website. We had a great stay and would recommend this property for families of groups. Although the weather was not perfect there was plenty to do both at the residence and in the town to keep four young boys entertained for seven days.
Polly made us feel very welcome and this was much appreciated.

If you want to veg-out at the beach in clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated surroundings, this place is perfect! The sound of the sea and perfectly wonderful beachside walks are just down the street. The D-Day landing beaches, picturesque French villages, and Mont St. Michel are all within an easy drive, too.
The lounge is large and pretty in a fresh colour scheme with lots of sturdy sofas to sit on. The dining area has enough table and chair space for probably 10 or 12 people. The kitchen is quite large with lots of counter space and is kitted out nicely if you plan to cook or bake and the dishwasher was quiet and efficient. The beds at this house are marvelously comfortable!
There are books sprinkled all around the house and this place is so restful that it really does lend itself to a period of settling in with a cup of tea and a good book. You can also choose between satellite television channels or a well-filled movie hard-drive-box.
There is a large capacity washing machine and a dryer and the wifi is quite reliable and fast. The local village of Brehal has a comprehensive Super-U grocery store within a few minutes of driving time and my husband became quite attached to the delicious products from the local bakery which was a few minutes away if he was having a morning walk.
This is a perfect house for a family or a group of friends since it has six bedrooms and multiple bathrooms, an enclosed garden, and easy-to-sweep tile or hard surface floors throughout. Even your pets would be happy here!
The owner, a happily transplanted British woman, is oh-so-helpful and informative and she walked us around the house when we arrived and made sure we knew where everything was and how to operate the various household machines or electronics.
I highly recommend this large and lovely beach house to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday at the Normandy coast!

The group of us really enjoyed our week in the house, even the dogs! Plenty of room for everyone with a well equipped kitchen and huge comfy beds. The great terrace area outside with BBQ was perfect to entertain everyone.
Its only a short walk to the beach with hundreds of Mussel poles and nice sand for fun for all.
The village is a short drive from Granville which has a nice market on Saturdays and many fine restaurants.
Mont Saint Michel and D Day landing beaches make good day trips from here.
Already looking forward to booking for next year!
