Left on 04/14/2014 for a stay in April 2014 | Scott Family
My family recently stayed in this lovely home for 4 nights, April 9-13, 2014. There were 8 of us in all, with ages ranging from grandparents down to a 2 year old. All of us enjoyed how spacious and comfortable the home was, as well as how thoughtful the owners were in stocking the home with thoughtful amenities--for example: great dish and hand soap, nice kitchen scrubbers, plenty of trash bags, and the softest, thickest bath towels I've ever experienced when staying in a mountain home! The beds were comfortable, the table easily fit all of us, and the kitchen was great for families like ours who cook a full meal every night! We've stayed in a variety of mountain cabins and beach homes and this was one of the best-stocked kitchens we've had. The owners had everything we needed in that kitchen--even down to a carrot peeler!:) The yard was an extra bonus for our large group--it gave the kids a great big, safe place to play and run in the front yard and the back. It also gave us plenty of privacy from the other houses and the road because of the beautiful trees surrounding it. The landscaping was so pretty in the spring with the beautiful daffodils bordering the driveway, dogwoods beginning to bloom, and flowers bursting forth everywhere! It made us want to be outside! I couldn't wait to go for a jog & explore! Finally,we'd like to say a great, big "thank you" to the owners, Mr. Troy and Mrs. Louise, who were so helpful and kind from the initial booking to the time we departed. They were eager to answer any questions about the home and the area. Mr. Troy told us about the Blue Ridge Bakery & we can't say enough about how wonderful it was! He also told us about some waterfalls in the Pisgah National forest that we all loved, too. He even called one chilly night to offer to bring over firewood in a wheelbarrow from his house! What a generous couple! Our family knows we've found a good thing here. My 11 year old daughter said it best: "I give this house 5 stars!" Read more
Many thanks to the Scott and Railey families for their most kind words. We strive to place ourselves in our guest's positions and want them to be treated as we would expect ourselves to be treated. We appreciate these comments and this was a very nice family that we enjoyed having as our guests. Troy and Louise Childers, Owners
