Description

Cedar Cottage is set at the end of a farm track, in the midst of National Trust farmland. It is one of six cottages that have been converted from a large stone barn, it has a small private patio and a south facing shared garden. Set in tranquil, beautiful countryside with views of the surrounding area, including Dorset’s famous Golden Cap, it is only a 15-minute walk to Seatown beach on the Jurassic coast which is great for fossil hunting and within walking distance of three local pubs.

Further details indoors

The cottage is spacious, laid out over three levels, with simple but carefully chosen furnishings. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge/dining area with open-plan kitchen.

A bench, table, chairs and a barbeque are all provided for use on the patio.

For those wet days there are family games and books. The cottage also has good Wi-Fi throughout the cottage

My husband and I work very busy jobs and this break was just what we needed. Beautiful views and 15min to the beach . I have never walked so much in my life lol. The cottage it self was great the best one I've stayed in yet. My only criticism is that the sofas are old and not ver comfy, which made me have a bad back on the evening . But this will not put me off going again. If you could change the sofas that would be superb. Thank you

“A perfect place to stay at Jurassic Coast”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2016

A nice cottage is part of terrace cottages in the middle of four others. It is a silent location and only 10min walk away from the sea. From the terrace the people walking on the Coast Walk can be seen but unfortunately there is no straight path to the walk. We felt very welcomed by some cereal gifts as well as the presence of cleaning agents, some spices, vinegar, oil etc. – so we had perfect basic for our cooking after arriving from abroad. Also we appreciated a lot the presence of a whole basket full of leaflets and descriptions of what to find in the area. As our arrival could not be exactly determined the solution with the key safe allows us a very relaxed travelling. The cottage is, unexpected for UK conditions, large, very clean and well designed. The terrace is southern orientated with a large common green and two deck chairs are available and used - allowing a very relaxed afternoon and the wind shaded tarrace. In total a highly recommended place to stay and to explore the Jurassic Coast.
