The world's oldest annual marathon and one of the six World Marathon Majors, the Boston Marathon is a spectacle for the city and the thousands of participants who come from around the world to run from Hopkington to Boston on Patriots Day. The race runs a course through Boston's suburbs, finishing downtown in the heart of the city.
