Our pet friendly, private setting, gorgeous waterfront, charming cottage, four fun kayaks, and stand up paddle board (SUP) will bring you fond vacation memories for years to come!
Situated in Bradley Harbour on Lake Huron, this delightful 1000 square foot cottage is available for rent for week long stays in June, July and August. It features three bedrooms plus a cosy sleeping loft. In the two main bedrooms, both beds (one queen and one double) feature a luxurious 4" comfort foam mattress topper, to ensure your sleeping comfort. The third bedroom has a double futon and the sleeping loft (suitable for older children due to the height and wide spacing of the railings) has a double bed.
Enjoy crackling campfires at either of the two fire pits provided - one at the waterfront or, if it is too windy by the water, one at the back of the cottage.
Located on the gorgeous flat rock shoreline of Lake Huron, there is also a small public sandy beach that is just a three minute walk down the road, to allow small children, those with limited mobility or those who prefer a sandy beach, an alternative way to enter the water.
Four one person kayaks with adult PFD's, one SUP and paddles are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, standard blender, hand blender, vitamix high speed blender (with both dry and wet containers), k cup coffee maker, drip coffee maker, food processor, crockpot, "stir crazy" popcorn maker & nut roaster, four slice toaster, kettle, rice cooker, waffle iron, fondue pot, and more! We have a full range of regular dishes (including wine glasses) as well as reusable plastic plates, bowls, wine glasses, serving dishes, etc... for your indoor and outdoor dining enjoyment. Our kitchen is as well or better equipped than many peoples' kitchens at home, because we like to cook!
Outside, there is a japanese style kamado barbeque, smoker & outdoor oven (similar to The Big Green Egg), and a patio table and chairs set (seats 4). There are also 4 adirondack chairs on the front deck, 4 more adirondack chairs at the fire pit by the water (two of them with leg rests), and another 6 adirondack chairs at the fire pit at the back of the cottage. The adirondack chairs at the rear fire pit are plastic and are easily moved to other locations as needed.
We have a very natural setting with numerous bird feeders. Various birds, including loons and hummingbirds, are frequently seen, as well as (usually) plentiful rabbits.
During rainy or inclement weather you will enjoy making use of the free unlimited wifi, flat screen TV, Apple TV (for streaming your own Netflix, similar account, or free internet based shows and movies to the TV), DVD player, small book library, and DVD library, numerous board games, jigsaw puzzles, etc... 25 minutes north of Lion's head and 35 minutes south of Tobermory, there is a great deal to do and explore in the area. Hikers will enjoy making the short drive to the Bruce Trail to hike and explore.
Games and toys found in the cottage include:
Kapla style wooden blocks
Zoobs (construction toy)
Harry Potter Clue
For outdoor recreation, in addition to our four kayaks we also offer two inflatable boats, a ladder toss game, badminton set, volleyball set, and sand toys.
New this year! Use our new robotic vacuum to help you to keep the cottage clean. Spend less time cleaning and more time relaxing!
Maximum of 6 people (day guests included): up to 4 adults, 2 children.
Please note, our rental week runs from Friday (4pm) to Friday (11am).

Additional Location Information
Bradley Harbour is a quiet little neighbourhood along the waterfront. Even as you walk along the road you most often can hear the peaceful sound of waves lapping against the shores. Although other homes and cottages line the shores, they are spaced really well and surrounded by trees the provide a great deal of privacy.
About 25 mins from Tobermory and Lion's Head, and 40 mins from Wiarton, it is a great central location for many local attractions from hiking the Bruce Trail, visiting Farmer's Markets, National Parks, etc...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bear Hollow Cottage. I was looking for a quiet, private, secluded weekend away and this location exceeded my expectations. The kitchen was well appointed so cooking was pleasurable, the living room was cozy with the wood fireplace and the views of the water from the floor to ceiling windows were inspirational. The beach was ruggedly spectacular. But the thing I remember most was that the bed was so comfortable I was determined to buy the same mattress when I got home. I came home from this retreat feeling completely refreshed and I look forward to the next time I stay at this delightful cottage.

Recently my wife and I stayed for a week at Bear Hollow Cottage which is roughly half way between Lion's Head on the southeast and Tobermory to the north. Aside from all the cute bears figures everywhere, my first impression was how fantastic the view of Lake Huron is from the huge window overlooking a large deck at the back of the cottage. There are pathways leading down to a rocky shore that is great for walking. There are several kayaks available and the Lake Huron area is great for kayaking as long as it isn't too rough. The cottage itself looks very new inside, with beautiful pine floors and pine furniture, 3 good size bedrooms and a small loft with bed and a clean modern bathroom with shower. The kitchen, and indeed, the whole cottage is very well equipped. There is even a central vacuum system! There is an excellent indoor fire place and an outdoor fire pit. Garbage and recycling is very close off highway 6 which is really useful. This is a wonderful place if you are looking for peace and quite.Very comfortable setting with amazing waterfront views.

My time spent at Bear Hollow was amazing! This warm and welcoming waterfront cottage is the ultimate retreat that offers everything - and more - as described on the website. The view is impressive, with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The calmness of the area is inspiring - very quiet and a great place to relax and have fun. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the waterfront, and a wood burning fireplace if needed for cool nights. There were many outdoor seating areas, some with fire pits. The owners are very pleasant and easy to deal with.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bear Hollow. It is a beautiful location - very private, with pretty garden areas , and an easy drive to reach. The cottage is very nicely decorated , with two large bedrooms , a pretty smaller room, and a loft which any boy would enjoy.A very well stocked kitchen and a nice fireplace to enjoy on a chilly day. The view from the floor to ceiling window is lovely and a door leading out to a large deck where we could sit and enjoy the view of Lake Huron and the beautiful sunsets. We certainly enjoyed our stay and hope return here in the future.

I have stayed at Bear Hollow on several occasions and it doesn't get any easier to leave such a pristine location. The cottage is close to a wonderful waterfront and at times the water appears 'Caribbean' with turquoise water. So peaceful and the sound of the waves lapping the shoreline was meditative.
The cottage itself is very private. It is surrounded by beautiful, well maintained gardens.
You will not be disappointed when you step into the cottage-it is well designed and has large front floor to celing windows overlooking the waterfront. The bedrooms are spacious and designed as part of the Bear Hollow theme.
A wood burning fireplace is available if there is a slight chill in the air.
It is close to the Bruce Trail, Lion's Head, and Tobermory-can't ask for a better location.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.
