Beautiful apartment in period house near EU office
This is a beautiful apartment, spacious and bright, tastefully furnished, and with a sunny private terrace. During your stay you can enjoy free Wifi and cable TV.
The apartment is located in a residential neighbourhood at walking distance from the main EU offices, the city centre and public transport hubs. We are just behind some of Brussels' most famous Art Nouveau Squares and parks (Ambiorix, Marie Louise).
The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a period house (please note that there is no elevator). We (your hosts) live in the rest of the house, but the apartment is completely independent.
We are an Italian / British couple. We are available to help and are happy to provide information that would help you to have a smooth and pleasant stay.
Between us, we speak English, Italian, French and German.
The apartment is not suitable for children less than 8 yrs old.
CHECK IN- CHECK OUT TIME:
Check in and check out times can be flexible, depending on personal availability and other bookings.
***NORMAL CHECK IN is from 14 till 17 hrs.
***LATE CHECK IN before 20 hrs is possible with a little extra fee of 15 euro. If you need to check in after 20 hrs, the fee is 30 euro. This fee is asked as a small contribution towards the metro and/or taxi our housekeeper has to take to come from her home, leave her family and social activities outside her working hours and come and meet you at your convenience. It is to be paid directly to her in cash.
*** EARLY CHECK IN before 14 hrs is possible if there are no guests leaving the same day.
***NORMAL CHECK OUT is before 10 o'clock.
*** EARLY CHECK OUT is no problem and can be arranged with the housekeeper.
***LATE CHECK OUT no later than 14 hrs is only possible if there are no other guests coming in the same day into the apartment.
- NO pets, NO smoking, NO parties.
- No third party allowed in the apartment without prior notice and consent.
- There is NO air-conditioning in the apartment.
- Also available for long term rentals, ask for special rates and conditions.
- The apartment is NOT a PARTY apartment. We ask our guest to respect the tranquility of the other inhabitants. If you disrespecting this we will ask you to leave immediately without refund.
- You are renting a private apartment, NOT a hotel room, so daily cleaning and breakfast are NOT included in the price. However our housekeeper is available for you and is charged at an hourly rate. We do not provide products for the use of the washing machine
- When leaving the apartment we expect you to leave it in a properly state. Any damage or extra cleaning will be deducted from your guarantee.

Elena was very hospitable and helpful. Despite our arriving at a late hour, we were able to check in to the room with no hassles at all. The place was immaculately clean and the apartment was well-furnished - it had everything we needed. The location is good for taking the Metro and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, although the house itself is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. I like the prompt replies and the no-hassle payment and check-in the best, but the beautifully furnished apartment itself comes a close second. What bothered me a bit was taking our luggage up and down the narrow staircase to reach the apartment, but this is a minor detail compared to the comfort of the rest of our stay.

Over the years I have rented several apartments while vacationing and this was by far the best. The kitchen and dining area were spacious and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable and most importantly it was sparking clean.

Elena was very charming and helpful with suggestions about places to visit in Brussels. The apartment is beautiful,quiet,central and close to amenities. It is within walking distance of both the EU Centre and across the park lies the city centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

1. Beautiful apartment with adorable little back porch.
2. Quiet street, safe area, close to transport
3. Owners are very generous with information (good information) about services, and food to enjoy in Brussels. Also laid back, friendly.

5. Lots of light. Comfortable, spacious bathroom.
6. Super quick walk to metro (easy to use, and clean and calm), but also only a 15 minute walk to the touristy areas like the Grand Place.
1. I wish there were more cafes and patisseries right next to the unit. There are actually a lot, close by, but we didn't see them until our last day b/c they seem to be in the opposite direction from the metro. Once we did venture into the neighborhood though we realized how nice and cozy it is, and would have liked to have gotten to know it better.
2. Its a fourth floor walk up. I don't really think this is a con at all. No big deal what so ever. However I mention in case there is a person with injuries or something.
Regarding the Cons I just wanted to correct your information:
a) the Apartment is NOT ON THE 4th FLOOR, but on the 2nd floor (for Europeans) or 3rd floor for Americans.
b) I will also make more evident how interesting our neighborhood can be. All the information and links are actually in the General Info paper that I send to all guests, but from your comments it seems worth to make it more obvious.

This apartment is all and more as advertised. My husband and I couldn't have been more comfortable and Elena and Rehan attended quickly to any requests--they live on the ground level. I spent the first of 2 weeks on my own (came to Brussels to continue my French studies), and felt safe and relaxed to and fro in the neighborhood. The apartment is extremely soundproof, spacious, and so convenient to food shopping, bank access, restaurants, and public transport. I loved walking the nearby neighborhoods (Marie-Louise and amboirix Squares, etc.) replete with art Nouveau buildings, ponds, and quiet surroundings. We plan to return to Brussels next year, and hope to stay again at Elena and Rehan's place. One caveat--the apartment is located on what the U.S. would consider the 3rd level, requiring walking up two short flights of stairs. Great exercise for us but could be a problem for anyone with physical constraints.
It was an absolute pleasure having you staying in our apartment. It felt like family! And we are happy to have contributed to make your stay pleasant and Linda's French absolutely fluent.
It will be great to have you over again next year and any time you wish!

The flat is in a good location, clean and nicely decorated with quite a morden twist!The landlady was very nice and helpful!

And that's not to say we had little or no expectations. I reviewed about 20 different flats for our 5night stay in Brussels (after spending 10d in Paris) and I kept coming back to this one.
The location is ideal - a 10min walk max from metro; 5 min walk to the market; 15min walk to Brussels Park. We are runners so it was great to be between both Brussels Park and Cinquantenaire Park (location of the Belgian arc de Triomphe).
This flat has so many great features - safe neighbourhood, good heating in cold weather (even w beautiful, full height windows), a large washroom w/ full tub/shower, fully equipped kitchen and distinct, spacious living areas. Having a corner to hide your luggage and a chaise to have a drink is why we prefer flats over hotels. (We do not require room service "pampering" and Elena was as responsive as any concierge could have been.)
The amenities are also outstanding. WiFi, cable TV, washer/dryer...what more could you need?
This is a walk-up and there is no elevator but get over it. We had a large, fully packed suitcase and 2 other "carry-on" type bags each...sure we sweated getting them up but it's not impossible.
Bottom line: I honestly have nothing negative to say. It's a charming house and Elena is a wonderful host. I would recommend this flat to my mum. And for the price? Get outta here. It's very economical. The photos are accurate but what you don't get a real sense for is the volume of space. Enjoy!

This apartment is incredibly spacious and comfortable. The location is fantastic, particularly to the EU institutions. The metro is very close and easy to use to get anywhere you want to go. Thoroughly recommend.

“Great place to stay in Brussels”

My husband and I like to stay in places that are off the beaten tourist path [ie. not the typical big city hotels] so we can get a truer sense of a city and its character. This apt. suits our taste in accommodation perfectly. The actual house has beautiful old european character [high ceilings and a lovely old wooden staircase on the way up to the apt, which is on the 2nd floor] and the apt is decorated with a combination vibe of cozy & slightly asian minimalist. It's really airy and spacious, and the light on a sunny day [if you're lucky enough to get one in Brussels!] is gorgeous.
It's in a central, yet quiet & residential part of town and it's also really close to convenient public transportation and sweet little cafes/restaurants/beer cellars.
The couple renting out the place lives on the ground floor and were really sweet and helpful, but you wouldn't really know they're there unless you need anything.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone and will definitely stay there again if/when I go back to Brussels!

This is a really great place to stay - it is walking distance to Parliament etc, it's in a beautiful house, and is very modern and well supplied in all mod.cons.
The area is great - not only central, but also short walking distance to nicer, livelier, North african part of town with gr8 restaurants etc.
I have stayed here several times when coming to Brussels for professional reasons. The family that owns the place seem very nice - ready to point me in the right direction for stuff, etc. And they stay out of the way!

The Booking deposit is nor refundable for stays of less than 1 month.
Longer stays (booking deposit):
For a 50% refund, cancellation must be made 1 month (30 full days) prior to listing's local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in, otherwise no refund. In this case there is a 20 € administration fee to be added.
If the guest cancels less than 30 days in advance, the booking deposit is not refunded.
If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.
