Description from the manager
Find your inner bear at Bruins Den. This B?ryson City vacation rental has everything you need to refresh your spirit. Bruins Den is the epitome of comfort with a sprawling layout, easy access, and all the comforts of home plus more. This well-appointed mountain getaway features 3 bedrooms plus a loft and 3.5 baths. There’s plenty of room and plenty to do -- a beautiful mountain view sprawls through the trees before you and the large yard around Bruins Den. Roasted Marshmallows and stories await you at the fire pit under the brilliant stars.
The name Bruins Den comes from the Old English word for bear -- bruin. The Boston Bruins were also inspired to adopt their name from this symbol of strength and power. The restorative power of relaxation awaits you at Bruins Den, where you can enjoy a refreshing view of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Start your day off right -- huge windows let in mountain sunshine. Stainless steel appliances and gleaming granite counters brighten the fully equipped kitchen. Glowing gas logs in the living room provide a cozy ambiance for enjoying your favorite movies on the HDTV. Spread out or snuggle up – it’s your choice with the large sectional sofa in the living room. Who doesn’t want options? With a second sitting area upstairs and game area, there’s plenty of space for everyone in your group to choose their own adventure.
Dreams as sweet as honey await you. Speaking of dreams, the first bedroom is a real treat with a King bed, flat screen TV, and private bath with a large jetted bath tub. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed and TVs. The alcove in the loft has two twins, which for an additional charge can be converted into another King. To accommodate two additional guests, there’s a queen sleeper sofa in the loft.
Ceiling fans on the porch catch fresh mountain air. Let your cares drift away on the large covered porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing. A griller’s delight, Bruins Den has a gas grill and picnic table that are just right for savoring meals.
The tall trees shading Bruins Den may inspire you to go sailing through the Nantahala National Forest on a zip line canopy tour. World-famous comedians and musicians are just 20 minutes away surrounded by the flashing lights and restaurants at Harrahs Cherokee Casino. Splish, splash, tug, tug – t’s about a 20 minute drive to fishing on Fontana Lake and fly fishing on the Oconaluftee River, the best stocked river in the Southeast. Thrilling white water rafting, mountain biking, and curvy drives on the Tail of the Dragon, are all nearby making Bruins Den the perfect smoky mountain basecamp for your next trip.

"Nice cabin for a weekend getaway with friends"
Left on 03/12/2014 for a stay in February 2014 | DanReviewed Mar 12, 2014Stayed Feb 2014
Bruin's Den was a great spot for my recent trip with friends. Originally, I had actually booked another cabin; however, the pipes on that cabin froze the day before we were arriving, so the property management company offered to move us to Bruin's Den, instead. My friends and I were quite happy overall with the cabin; we especially loved the hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, and decks. The cabin was extremely nice inside overall; the only drawback (albeit a fairly major one for my group) was the lack of a shower in the master bath. That issue alone would possibly keep me from booking this cabin again.
The only other hiccup we had during the process concerned the actual rental agreement. Apparently, the property management company requires an additional deposit if you have eight or more people in your group, which is fine; however, this additional charge wasn't included in the information I received prior to booking the cabin, so I ended up having a $200 charge (which was refunded a week or so after checkout) for this deposit, on top of the actual deposit and fees for the rental. Again, I'm fine with the deposit itself; I just didn't like that it wasn't mentioned prior to me booking (and paying for) the cabin.
Overall, my friends and I had a great time at the cabin; our biggest complaint was actually not booking another day or two. Read more
Thank you, Dan, for taking the time to review Bruin's Den.
We're glad that you enjoyed the cabin especially the hot tub, fireplace, and decks.
We appreciate your feedback about the master bathroom and the shower. We'll relay that to the property owner.
We also appreciate your feedback about the Large Party Security Deposit. Our records show that you booked online, so you may not have noticed it in the rental agreement.
To help guests booking online notice this deposit, we have added a line to the booking screen with a help box that mentions the large party security deposit.
This deposit is also listed both on the Terms and Conditions page as well as the actual rental agreement itself, which shows a preview before booking online.
Hopefully now that it's in all of these places future guests will be more aware of the deposit.
We're glad that you enjoyed your stay and it sounds like you and your friends enjoyed your time.
We do hope that you will keep us in mind for future vacations and that maybe you will get to stay another day or two in the future.

Our family of 6 adults, and 3 grandchildren totally enjoyed our stay in one of the most beautiful homes we have ever seen. My oldest grandson asked if we were staying in a mansion? I told him that this home is the closest thing to it...
we could not of asked for anything better with a home that was decorated beautifully, very comfortable furniture, a lot of space for the kids and a wrap around porch to enjoy the sunsets, views, and seeing the mountains smoke.
'thank you for allowing us to use your home so we can celebrate my oldest daughters 40th Birthday. what a treat.
My whole family would highly recommend to vacation in this beautiful home.
we thank the family who owns Bruins den. You should be very proud to own such a great place.

The home was better than we even thought it would be. The only problem was that we didn't stay longer. The house was really too big for 4 people but we really wanted to stay here. We didn't even use the upstairs. The master bed was great but I guess the other beds were not as comfortable. We look forward to coming back. Read more

The cabin was beautiful. Keep in mind that my husband and I are 75+ and we found the hilly entrance and curvy roads difficult. We felt very comfortable inside the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the mountains. It was very well laid out and very clean. We also enjoyed the company of Zip, the neighborhood dog. Our children, being younger, enjoyed it all, especially the pit at the bottom of the hill. It was close enough to the town to get supplies and see the lay of the land. Read more
