The wide gravel parking area allows you to easily park right next to the three steps leading to the wide front deck. In front of the deck in a small gravel yard two chairs wait for you to join them next to a fire. From the front deck a scenic mountain view spreads across the horizon. At the far end of the front deck is a professionally cleaned hot tub with warm massaging waters, scenic mountain view and cool fresh air in a private setting.
The front door on the deck open to the living room. Soft natural wood tones, warm glowing gas log fireplace, and a wall of windows full of a scenic mountain view create a calming peacefully atmosphere where romance develops freely. A satellite TV is above the fireplace and across from a comfortable leather sofa. Past the living room forming the back of the cabin is the full kitchen. All cooking and dining utensils are supplied. A small walkway next to the fireplace in the living room leads to the master bedroom and bath. As you turn left out of the hall into the bedroom a scenic mountain view opens through the wall of windows at the foot of the king size bed. To add a warm romantic feel to the bedroom, the fireplace from the living room passes into the bedroom on the left of the bed. On the opposite side of the wall the bed is on, and to the right out of the hallway is the very large master bath. This bathroom has the ambiance of natural elements and style that most spas try to reach. The bathroom has a large jetted tub and an enclosed shower that could fit two.

Behind the Nantahala Outdoor Center, about 5 minutes along a back country mountain road sets the large 1 bedroom log cabin getaway, Born to be Wild. The roads to the cabin are well maintained and generally easily driven by most vehicles. The cabin is perched on the mountain side overlooking the road leading to the cabin and the mountain views spreading across the horizon. The area around the cabin is minimally developed and retains a natural setting. White water rafting and excellent restaurants are just a short drive back down to the Nantahala Rafting center. Mountain biking at the famous Tsali recreation center is around 15 minutes away. Bryson City and the Smoky Mountain National Park are a scenic 25 minute highway drive away. The Cherokee Indian Reservation entrance to the national park is another 10 to 15 minutes past Bryson City.

My wife and I rented this cabin for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Very well-maintained. Clean. The cabin is beautiful. We loved the gas logs in the bedroom, the huge shower and jacuzzi. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub, but should have. We stayed five days and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We had hoped for snow while we were there and got none...that was our only disappointment. Recommended very highly!!

Everything was more than what I expected even from the pictures. The views were what made me reserve the cabin but the cabin is what made me want to stay. I loved waking up in the morning to the sun hitting the top of the mountain in our view. The fireplace was enough to heat the whole cabin which was nice to cuddle, with just the lights of the Christmas tree that was set up in front of the window by the door. The only thing missing from the whole romantic set up was there is no surround sound for some romantic music. But I had my laptop and external speaker so we were ok. We plan on going back to the cabin again next year and possibly making it a week instead of a weekend. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Everything was in good order upon arrival. The cabin was very well taken care of and well equipped. Comfortable bed, hot tub, jacuzzi tub, stand up shower, fireplace, all kitchen utensils, everything needed besides food. Fairly remote but not too far off the beaten path. The local area is full of adventure, more to do than time to do it all! Great vacation, we will be returning.
