Description from owner

Description

This luxury 2 bedroom fisherman's cottage is a stone's throw from a small, secluded sandy beach, a short walk from a larger sandy beach and within easy walking distance of the harbour. With a kitchen diner, a cosy living room with a gas log burner, it's a perfect location for a summer break or for cosy winter breaks, suitable for families and couples.

The dolphins are frequent visitors to this area of coastline and are regularly seen during the summer months – keep an eye out for them! The village has an excellent pub, The Admirals, as well as a chemist and post office and local store.

The cottage makes an excellent base for exploring the area - there is plenty to do from golf, castles, whisky distilleries, wildlife watching, or just simply building sandcastles!

Findochty (locally pronounced Finechty) oozes character. Wander around the higgly piggledy narrow streets with the many multi-coloured houses to appreciate the real charm of this traditional Scottish village.

We love Findochty, we think you will too.

NB. Please note due to the quirky nature of the cottage it has a narrow staircase and no toilet facilities upstairs. It is not suitable to people with mobility issues.

Response from the owner Hi Sherill, Thanks for taking the time to write us such a lovely review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and got to see and do so much whilst you were here. Your distillery tips are great! Hopefully you'll get to come back and visit us again sometime in the future - there are many more distilleries to visit and of course the dolphins to see! “Beautiful Cottage”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2017

We are just back from a weeks stay at this beautiful cottage, it really had everything you could possibly need. It's right beside the beach too which my children absolutely loved. We were at the beach every day, we went swimming in Buckie, we went to Cullen for ice cream, we went into Elgin for the day, we visited Spynie Palace & Cooper Park, we tried the massive pancakes at Baxters of Fochabers, couldn't manage the whole thing,it's huge. Even when the weather wasn't great it was still lovely being in the cottage, Clare & Steve have board games & loads of dvds to watch. We had an amazing family holiday & we hope to come to visit again. Thanks x
