Additional Location Information

The house is one miles from the village of St martin Des besaces which has a full range of small shops. and is only 9 miles from a busy market town with shops restaurants and bars, and an excellent market on Mondays. The town of Torigni Sur Vire has a lake complex, where you can go fishing, or take a boat out for an afternoon.
Also nearby only 5 miles from the cottage is the worlds first permanent Bungee jump site which is also an adventure park, where you can go climbing and try difference thrill rides. The site is run by A J Hackett.
If you are visiting the D Day sites, the house is within easy drive of all the beaches. On your journey to the beaches takes you through little villages, each of which has its own story to tell of its liberation, with many small memorials and museums to visit.
Other days out we would recommend are canoeing on the river Vire. The local canoe centre at Conde Sur Vire takes you upstream 12km and you take all day to paddle back to the centre with picnic sites on the way back. Or cider tasting in the many small farms that are open to the public for the tasting and purchase of cider and the local apple brandy called calvados.
You should also not miss mont St micheal, and the bayeaux tapestry both a short drive from the cottage.
With so much to see and do in Normandy, we know that you want to visit again.
