This is a lovely older house with lots of room for families. We are very grateful that she accepts dogs and even better that the house is so clean you can't tell that dogs have stayed there. The electronics are a bit old but useable and there is no wifi. There are bikes available for use and the area would be great for bike riding but in July when we were there it was over 100 every day and just too hot. Thank goodness the house had great air conditioning and ceiling fans.
The house is in a great area about 10 miles from Cambridge. There is a wonderful general store about a mile away that serves amazing dinners - get a reservation. Otherwise you need to get groceries or eat in Cambridge.
I was quite disappointed that, unlike the photos and the phrase "forever waterviews", this house is not on the water. There is a creek across the street and maybe 100 yards away but if you are looking for a house on the Chesapeake Bay (as we were), unfortunately this is not it.
The owner and housekeeper were both very helpful and friendly. Read more
Actually, there is Wifi. I'm not sure when this reviewer stayed at Chesapeake Country House - perhaps before we installed it. Not to make too fine a point of it, but here is a water view from the front porch and from the upstairs front windows.
