Description
Romantic, beautifully and sympathetically renovated barn, with private pool!!! Located in the heart of the Garfagnana, 1 hr 15 mins or so north of Lucca.
With beamed ceilings and exposed stonework, along with traditional style windows and flooring, this is a real Tuscan gem!
On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, each with double doors leading to terrace overlooking the countryside. There is also a shower room.
On the first floor, but still on ground level due to sloped nature of terrain, there is a further shower room, a living room with sofa bed, fireplace, DVD, CD, TV. Possibility of hiring SKY package with movies, sports, children's etc at E25 per week. (Please note due to Sky regulations, the SKY package offered is the Italian Sky but the language to sports and movies and many programmes can be changed to English using the remote control). Please advise of request on booking to secure.
Well equipped kitchen/diner with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer. WIFI.
There are insect screens on windows throughout.
The living area leads to outdoor eating area overlooking pool. There is a further eating area under a gazebo to the side of the house.
Outside:
Extensive grounds with views over open countryside and mountains in the background....
First part of gardens are enclosed for safety but guests are welcome to wander around the countryside.
Private pool 8M x 4M.
BBQ and various al fresco dining options
Shaded parking.
Very private.
A little about location:
This cottage is set just outside of the village of Puglianella which is a small, well kept village situated around 1 h5 15 mins of Lucca in the heart of the Garfagnana hills.
There is a village 2km either side of the house each of which has a good restaurant. Other villages with fuller facilities are around a 10 minute drive away.
The large village of Camporgiano is around 10 mins and has all facilities including a train station for stress free exploring and a small Monday morning market.
The market town of Castelnuovo is a 20 mins or so drive from the house.
Pisa airport is around a 90 minutes or so drive and Genoa is 2 hrs 15 mins
TOURIST TAX - Do note that there is a local stay tax applicable at €1 per person per night, up to a maximum of 5 nights. This does not apply to children under 14.
