The imposing Sea and Rock villa reflects its name as it occupies a mountainside site with superb seascape views over Camps Bay. The dimensions of this commodious retreat are most generous, sleeping up to twelve, especially in respect of expansive decking areas being as large as the adjoining interior floor space. Pergolas, controlled-water fed pot planting and a large yin and yang-shaped Zen garden furnish what are essentially outdoor rooms. The design reflects the environmental textures of its rocky backdrop while maximising exterior living space and incorporating saltwater pools and jacuzzi's.
The design is wrought in indigenous natural materials of signature ‘balau’ timber decking and in the interior travertine tiling and caesar-stone. The villa is environmentally-friendly in minimising water use by means of an electronically controlled watering system, rain-water tank irrigation recycling and rooftop solar panels.
Fluorescent spot-lights after dark, as with the rim-flow pool above, lead you up wooden step tiers to a plunge pool. The night time effect is particularly picturesque as ultra-violet lighting transforms the pools into glowing jewels.
Distinctive large metallic animal horns forming door handles on the entrance door catch the eye. A large glass dining table and chairs upholstered in faux animal hides dominates an elevated mezzanine level. A lower level forms an informal living space featuring a pebble-bed gas fireplace and leather suite of furniture. Large glass sliding patio doors with wooden louvred panels (Ameircan shutters) give onto the exterior.
The master suite features a king-size bed, generous wardrobe space and an en-suite bathroom. Furnishing of raw-silk curtains are used throughout the villa to dress the patio window doors while original Ian van Zyl African wildlife paintings are positioned to maximum effect. The sense of abundant space is apparent under a high-vaulted ceiling over two floors. The full-spec kitchen (five ring gas hob, double electric oven, double fridge freezer, ice dispenser etc.) on an upper mezzanine level has an open-plan island with bar stools, ideal as an informal dining space. The rear extends to a scullery, pantry and laundry utility area.
Home-entertainment comes by way of LCD TV, DVD, CD and iPod players. Outside the large deck accommodates a rim-flow infinity pool, terracotta-mosaic dining tables and wooden patio furniture inviting alfresco entertaining with gas barbecue area. Uninterrupted coastal seascapes extend here to Robben Island while to the rear and across the bay the Twelve Apostles and Lion’s Head loom as paraglider's ride the thermals. All seven bedrooms have direct balcony access via glass patio doors and share raw silk curtains and muted beach tones. One of these rooms is a self-contained cottage with a kitchenette and it's own jacuzzi on the deck. Two rooms on the ground floor share a common bathroom with a jacuzzi-bathtub, double wash basins and large shower units against mosaic walls. The second floor has striking crystal and silver chandeliers. An open-plan bar area with several drinks fridges is intended to cater for the entertainment lounge and dining areas and complement the indoor barbecue. Mahogany and caesar-stone finishes predominate in this full-specification utilities area of adjacent scullery, pantry and laundry rooms. The sense of light and space is enhanced through large picture glass panels high in the walls giving framed mountain views. The upstairs living-room is designed round a large L-shaped kudu-leather couch with formal mahogany dining table. Wall-to-wall concertina-folding patio doors with louvred windows/ American shutters give on to the exterior. The pergola outside is an attractive touch providing welcome plant shade as an extension to the expansive deck. You can take in the stunning views from this vantage point from the al-fresco dining table or assorted sun lounger furniture arrangements. There is an enticing jacuzzi here from which to survey the seascapes below. There are three bedrooms on this floor and a separate study/ office area with broadband wi-fi capacity.
All seven bedrooms have ample wardrobe space set against high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling patio doors giving on to the decking terrace. The en suite master has a king-sized bed, generous walk-in wardrobe space and an invitingly sumptuous silver-suede chaise-longue to recline on. Pearl, silver black and white tones predominate complemented by a striking zebra artwork. The travertine tiled, glass mosaic bathroom accommodates an elevated stone bathtub. In short, all bedrooms have air-conditioners and enjoy sea-views with direct decking access while having LCD TVs installed with digital DSTV channels in common with the communal living areas. All bathrooms and kitchens have underfloor heating and heated towel-rails. There is garaging for four cars with off-street parking for a further five. A ‘Paradox’ security system serves all combinations of rented alternatives with separate alarm and entry systems. There is also a separate service entrance for staff and maintenance.
A separate study is equipped with a computer and wireless internet access is throughout all levels of the house.

We stayed here with friends and family for our wedding in cape town, we decided to stay in Camps Bay pprior to our wedding in Franschhoek. It is the most amazing house you can not be disappointed!! a geat party house with amazing views and pools!! Gail (house manager) was brilliant and went out of her way to help us, the other staff were lazy and if they could get away with doing nothing they would! but this doesn't spoil anything!!
we had an amazing stay and wouldn't hesitate booking again, although it would need a special occasion to warrant it!! if you're planning a trip with family or friends you really couldn't pick anywhere better!!
Thanks for the review and glad you'll be coming back again. I'm sure the staff did a good job cleaning, but if you have any specific issues, please can you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have passed on your appreciation to Gail.
Looking forward to welcoming you back.

We were a party of 10 adults and a couple of kids, and had a splendid time at the Villa this august.
The weather was pleasant enough and the Villa was immaculately maintained and prepared for us. On arrival, a table of snacks and champagne was waiting, which was a great touch.
The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the mixed setup of accommodation suited the makeup of our party of friends very well.
The indoor barbeque on the top floor was amazing - the best feature of the house!
Outdoors was less used as the august weather still meant that the pools were freezing. We were told at time of booking that one of the pools were heated, but it turned out not to be the case (think it wasn't working).
Nevertheless, the 2 Spa's made up for it..
Excellent location, service and pampering - highly recommended.
Thanks for the fabulous review. We've sorted out the problem with the one heated pool. Hope his didn't impact too much on your stay.
We are always on call for any issues. So next time you're staying with us, please give us a call with any hassles.

We only had the chance to spend a weekend in CPT and arrived Friday Night and left Sunday evening.
Check In work perfect at Friday Night (00:30) and we have been welcomed and introduced to the property very efficient and kind, including welcome drinks/snacks. Everything what was asked for upfront, was perfectly organized and very well and delicious prepared (Food&Beverage;). Service overall discreet and perfect. Checking out and all other organisational topics where handled very straight and professional.
Based on all this we were able to have a perfect 2 days stay in CPT including enjoying the property and all its facilities (jacuzzi, pool, bbq, fireplace, bar etc.)
Check us out on www.facebook.com/noxrentals and upload your pics from your stay at Sea and Rock.

One of the most beautful villas I've ever stayed at, with each room having it's own charm and style. The view from the patio are breathtaking. I had taken many pictures to show all my friends and family how magnificent the villa looked like. I aboslutely would highly recommend all my friends and family to stay at the Sea and Rock Villa. I can't wait to go back next year and rent it again.

I stayed at Sea and Rock Villa in October/November 2009. This was an extremely wonderful and memorable stay, with great hospitality from the staff! They were very helpful and attentive. As for the Villa itself,it has some spectacular views, luxurious accommodation, offers safety and a 'home-feel. It's conveniently located for the Beach-Camps Bay and other Key Landmarks like Table Mountain. Amazing Sunset Views! I would highly recommend Sea and Rock!

We had a number of friends with us from the UK to Sea & Rock for my 40th. The Villa was fantastic, with fabulous Sea Views, and it could even handle my 40th birthday party with 50 guests.
We took the Villa Hotel package with butler (Max), full breakfasts and drinks, which made our stay hassle free as we did not have to learn how to work the house. The House Manager Gail did all she could to help us.
The Heated Pool was just at the right temperature, and we spent most of our time at the Bar on the top level, where we could see whales while sitting on the bar stools.
What was also nice was that the villa is new, so all of the appliances and furniture were in a great condition.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Sea& Rock Villa last year and it was the ulitimate in luxury accommodation. The views are spectacular ( I mean, where else can you watch Whales from your bedroom terrace!) and the design and facilities at the villa are 'to die for'We included the use of the staff service (optional) and the this was of a high standard. Fabulous!!
