“Beautiful Views, Comortable and Relaxing Home” As you drive into the beautifully graveled driveway and see the ocean at the side of the house you just know that this will be a relaxing vacation. When you enter the house you are invited in by a well equipped kitchen that leads into a beautiful family/living room. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a double bed and a three piece bathroom. Upstairs the master bedroom is the full width of the house with a picture window looking out into St. Margaret's Bay. Upstairs at the back of the house is a lovely bedroom with two double beds. As our friends had traveled from the UK we gave the upstairs bedrooms to them and took the down stairs ourselves. Back down on the ground floor the living room leads out onto a large deck which is fantastic for bbq's and just relaxing. This in turn leads to a large grassy area which in turn leads to a small private beach. The area around the house has many services and features and I can sincerely recommend it to anybody that wants a relaxing vacation within easy traveling distance of Halifax and the South Shore. All in all an excellent location and great value for money.

“An absolutely wonderful experience with picture perfect views” "Wow". From the moment we entered this beautiful home, to every time we caught a glimpse of the stunning ocean views (which wasn't hard to do, as basically every window in the house and the many balconies provided breath-taking views of the LaHave Islands and surrounding areas), this is the word that we continually came back to - "wow". The house itself is beautiful. It's extremely spacious, but feels cozy at the same time. The windows provide incredible views and lots of natural light all day long. There are several beautiful balconies overlooking the islands and surrounding ocean. The kitchen was well equipped with any utensil or appliance you'd require, and a washer and dryer are available as well. For the first few hours after we arrived, we just sat in the atrium in the comfy armchairs, listening to music and taking in our amazing surroundings. It was delightful and relaxing, and I would've been content to do just that all weekend. Having lived in Nova Scotia for my entire life, I was somewhat familiar with the area of Petite Rivière/LaHave from childhood visits to Risser's Beach and Crescent Beach (both within 10 minutes of Skyview). I had never made the trip over to the LaHave Islands, but am so glad I was able to now. It's such a beautiful and quiet area. We also made trips to the LaHave Bakery (a must on your to-do list) and several markets, art and craft shops along the way, just a short drive from Skyview. The Owner of this beautiful spot was wonderful, and more than helpful, ensuring everything was in order so that we could enjoy our stay. His response time to e-mails was very quick, and he also called shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was ok and to answer any questions. He had taken the time to provide instructions regarding anything you may need to know about the house, as well as information on many of the local attractions. We were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of our interactions with the Owner! This was an absolutely enjoyable experience and we're already really looking forward to our next stay. I would highly recommend a stay at Skyview!!

“One Happy Camper x 2” My husband and I had a wonderful time at Black Rock Beach House, it is even more spectacular in person, we absolutely loved everything about it, everything was perfection! This is a beautiful home. We hated to leave each day but wanted to see the Wild Pacific Trail, so we reluctantly left the house and walked the Lighthouse Trail section of the trail, we picked a good day, gale force winds, marine advisories and spectacular waves, quite impressive. We had hoped for a storm and Mother Nature co-operated, wet & weary we returned to what is now our new favorite place, Black Rock Beach House. We walked the other sections of the trail the following days, all beautiful and peaceful. Never got to take the boat tour of the Broken Group Islands, or kayak due to the marine advisories and fog, hopefully next time, but the rain and fog didn't spoil our trip in the least, just added the adventure, we were happy to spend more time back at the house just staring out the windows at the waves crashing on the rocks, the eagles, and the Great Heron who came to the tidal pools in front of the house for his breakfast and dinner each day. We had an absolutely wonderful time and will definetly be back, next time bringing our 2 grown daughters. One Very Happy Camper x 2 New Jersey

“East Coast Charming” A historical gem preserved in time with all the modern amenities, in a pristine untouched idyllic setting of the Le Have Islands. Snorkelling in the bay, the kids blwn away by all the lobsters and sea life. Crescent beach, island museum, take out fish and chios, farmhouses bursting with local art & antiques, fisherman sunst tours, a great home base for some genuine east coast hospitality. LaHave Bakery and ferry only minutes away to Riverport, Kingsbury, Mackay Lyons modern architectural gems, Hirtles Beach and Gaff Pt spectacular nature trail. My family and friends loved our authentic stay which met all of our expectations from its description. Our next visit were sure to bring some kayaks or canoes. Fennel house was a beautiful experience!

“A fabuluous two week getaway” We had a fabuluous two week vacation. It was a shot in the dark because we had no prior information on the site other than what was provided. We were not disappointed. The cottage is large and comfortable. It has a well equipped kitchen and the furnishings are top knotch. The site is somewhat seculded that gives privacy with access to the ocean and a very good view. There is an excellent protected bay for kayaking and a good hot tub to relax in after a day on the water.

“Right on the beach” I have stayed here often and every time it has been awesome. The hot tub on the front deck is located for privacy and the view is spectacular from inside or out. The cottages are bordered by evergreens on each side of the property, there are only two cottages on the property so booking far in advance is a good idea. “Quiet” We fundamentally enjoyed our week's stay at this cabin. We had a really great time, despite the absence of a dishwasher ;-) ! In the end, we did not even have time enough to fully explore the island ... Unfortunately, the road to Anderson Bay was too rough to make it there, even with our all-wheel-drive rental car: we tried but gave up halfway, being afraid we would strand in the middle of nowhere, many km from civilisation (= Bob's Lake) and without cell-phone reception. We did not encounter a single other car on that trip, all day long! We also liked the Heischolt lakes and Shingles beach. The Raven restaurant had nice food and the general store offered very nice bread! We had excellent wildlife sightings from the cabin, including a snake on the steps to the beach and a pod of transient orcas passing through Gillies Bay on the first evening! We also had nice bald-eagle views, including an adult picking up a dead dog shark from the beach (which we inspected the day before at close range) and bringing it to its chick in the nest a few 100 m along the beach (down the road to Shelter park). We will be back in the future!
