THINGS TO DO
Not much, if that is how you like it. Otherwise, wonder, relax, paint, ponder, meditate, enjoy the local culture (see our 'Welcome' folder in the cabin: there are fabulous places to visit, like the Tarana Pub… who would have believe that such a brilliant place existed??? The local pub is famous for its pizzas and the sightseeing is out of this world.
Water comes from the roof, pumped to you via a solar powered pump. All the power and lights are thanks to the solar panels.
The rest is LPG…the ducks don't generate enough gas to keep us going
Waste is filtered before watering the orchard. You can charge your iPod, watch a DVD or play a CD, all thanks to the sun.
All funds go to our charity, Shoes for Planet Earth: see below in 'payment'.
Travelling west from Sydney, go through Lithgow then follow the Mudgee signs, taking the Castlereagh Highway. When you arrive at the town of Capertee, turn right into Glen Davis Road. Travel 13.9 kms along Glen Davis Road and you will find Pinegrove Road on your right. This is the first road on your right after leaving the highway. We are located about 300 metres down the road on your right hand side, at number 32. We are opposite Arthur's Park. Note that your mobile phone will not work here, so do not hope to call for help!
Once on site, we can lead you in your 4WD vehicle to the cabin site…seat belts on please and no insurances provided. If you do not drive a 4WD we will take you to the cabin and collect you later. If you feel the need to sight-see, it is just a 15 minute stiff but enjoyable walk from the cabin back to your car at HQ!
We hope and suspect that you will leave as different and happier people than when you arrived....Read more
