Serendipity means a "fortuitous happenstance" or "pleasant surprise". It was first coined by Horace Walpole in 1754. In a letter he wrote to a friend Walpole explained an unexpected discovery he had made by reference to a Persian fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip. The princes, he told his correspondent, were “always making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things which they were not in quest of”.

We came here with our family of 6 + 1 guest and our good friends of 4, so a total of 11 in the house. It was so spacious and roomy, we did not feel at all crowded. The house was clean and inviting.
I planned menus, we packed our meat in a big cooler and ordered the rest from the Winn-Dixie grocery store in advance and they brought it to the arrival dock where we boarded, no delivery charge. How convenient! We drove, so if you fly to Ft. Myers, just fax in your order for everything. I especially liked the watermelons and oranges, they were much better than we have in Ohio. We were missing some of our beverages but Jason, from Winn-Dixie, compensated for that and it was delivered to our island the very next morning. No problem!
Our girl, Sarah Rapp, was so fab. She made sure that we got everything that was promised and we didn't lack for anything.
Every email I sent her was answered immediately!
The wildlife is so cool. One of our boys actually rode on a manatee for a few feet! They came up 2 different days, right up to the beach!! Incredible! We also saw dolphins, many birds and a turtle with an 18" shell lives behind the house! We collected many conch and other beautiful shells. The temps were hot (95) but the house was always cool and so close that if you overheated, you could jump in the pool or hang in the house for awhile. The sunsets from the top deck were amazing!
We drove around the island on a golf cart, it was fun. Everyone waves as you meet them, we checked out everyplace just for fun. If you go out after dark, wear off, bugs are bad. But the Lazy Dolphin has screened in porches, so no problems!
The Island life is a good life! We sunned, we ate, we drank and we relaxed, a true vacation.
