Settle into your own island of tranquility in this picturesque 4-bedroom, 4-bath home in a tree-shrouded neighborhood just a short stroll to the pristine white sands of Carmel Beach and Carmel River Beach.
Walk a few blocks to the fine shops and restaurants of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Even closer is Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch, where you can dine on the deck overlooking a lush meadow.
While spacious, this 2,200 sq. ft. home retains an intimate cottage feel, with combined living room, dining room and kitchen that has a romantic semi-circular gas fireplace, beamed high ceilings and birch floors.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine or sparkling cider, passes to the renown Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush spa bathrobes, slippers, oversized towels and beach gear.
Enter through a sunlit gallery hall with brick floors to the beautiful living room with windows that allow peeks over rooftops of Carmel Bay and the cliffs of Pebble Beach. Designer furnishings including an off-white wicker sofa upholstered in yellow and blue country-French fabric, 3 wicker armchairs with ottoman and an oversized coffee table. Watch your favorite shows or movies on a 56” flat screen HDTV.
Prepare gourmet meals in the spacious fully-equipped kitchen, tiled in white with blue trim, which has an electric smooth-top range and oven, refrigerator, a microwave and dishwasher. Guests can assist the chef while sitting at 3 wooden stools at a large counter with a wood cutting-board surface. The adjacent dining room has a rectangular antiqued wood table and chairs that can seat up to 10.
If you prefer, you can dine alfresco at a table for 6 in a lush enclosed brick courtyard. Star-gaze while taking a relaxing soak in the oversized hot tub. An adjacent separate enclosed courtyard with Carmel stone pavers has a charcoal grill, 2 lounge chairs and a deck with a bistro table for 4 where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
Two master bedrooms are situated at the opposite end of the entry hall. All beds have luxury linens. The 1st features a wrought-iron king bed, hexagonal bedside stands painted in an Oriental motif, an armoire and book shelves. The bathroom has dark wood cabinetry with beige tiles on the countertop and surrounding the tub/shower.
The 2nd master, which has a bay window with cushion seating, has a white wrought-iron queen bed, wicker end table, chair and dresser, an armoire and a 30” flat-screen HDTV. The master bath, with coral tiles throughout, has a large walk-in shower.
A flight of stairs from the entry leads to a carpeted den that would be a great kids’ hangout. It has a trundle bed that can sleep 1 or 2, a twin bed and a 36” flat-screen HDTV.
There are 2 downstairs bedrooms. The first features a wrought iron queen bed, a white wood dresser, shelves stocked with books and a 30” HDTV. An adjacent bathroom with dark wood cabinet and white porcelain sink, has beige tiles surrounding the tub/shower.
The 2nd lower bedroom, with soft yellow walls, has a queen with a wood bed frame, bedside stands and metal table lamps. The attached bath, with crisp black-and-white checkerboard-patterned tiles, has a free-standing white porcelain sink and an opaque-glass shower.

We had a great time at this property. We ended up with 9 folks and our family dog by the end of the week. The layout of the house was fantastic allowing each couple to essentiially have their own space. The dog friendly city beach is just 2 blocks away and we enjoyed many walks there with our pup. The rock point at the south end of the beach was a perfect spot to watch some magnificent sunsets. For a large group this property was ideal and we would stay here again .

We rented this beautiful house for a team retreat and it was just perfect. The house is well stocked, amazingly comfortable, and the view from the deck truly is stunning. We will be back the next time our team is in town!
Marietta, the house manager, was so accommodating and helpful, and addressed our every need. We have rented other houses from Sanctuary, and all have been equally impressive!

We had a wonderful time while staying at this home in Carmel. We were a group of three families with younger kids and the bedroom situation worked out great for us. The property manager was amazing and helped us to prepare for our trip and was very accommodating. The location was also perfect for walks to the beach, but away from the Carmel traffic. Sitting in the spa and listening to the waves crash on the beach after the kids were asleep was very relaxing! Thank you for a great stay!
