This little home is the perfect romantic getaway, with a very private and quaint home with all the fixings. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and appliances. The bathroom is clean and fully stocked as well. The welcome book is very thorough and will answer all your questions. The home sits on a very quite street about 3 blocks from the ocean and a short walk to the main street in Carmel. We felt right at home and honestly didn't want to leave! To wake up to the birds every morning was an added bonus. We will certainly be coming back for more visits and staying a little longer :)

Quails Nest is a charming beach cottage that is equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy the beauty and peace of Carmel. It is located less than 2 short blocks from the sea and a 10 minute walk to Ocean Ave with all the shops and restaurants. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished and the backyard enjoys lots of afternoon sun and Bluebirds that you can feed! The sound of the waves from the beach and the peace and quiet were very relaxing. The owner, Erik has thought of everything and was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be back!

My boyfriend & I drove through along Ocean ave (lots of shops, studios and restaurants), followed the ocean's waterfront & a few blocks later we were in front of Quail's Nest. The place has an adorable curb appeal & cottage feel. After we settled, we stepped out, onto the front porch & shared a warm hug, the hazy clouds drifted & obscured the full moonlit night. Although the moment was serene, the warmth inside drew us back in. We immediately felt at ease, the place is impeccably clean, intimate & shows character. We found the kitchen to be new & self-contained & the bathroom was roomy, w/ a deep tub. Dusk was always marked by temporary ribbits of a traveling frog. The bed was very comfortable & the nights were quiet w/ a hint of ocean waves crashing. The mornings were accompanied w/ shy quails & friendly scrub jays -they can entertain you for hrs...peanuts are the trick! It was nice to lounge in front of the fireplace while reading a book. Taking walks to the beach, mission & ranch was very easygoing. The TV & internet worked great, the BBQ in the back was very clean, along w/ the hammock, bikes & beach chairs provided in the garage. The place was absolutely perfect for us.
Point Lobos is a short drive away and we enjoyed the hikes in the early mornings which proved to be special, as we witnessed new beginnings of sea otters & harbor seals w/ their newborns, unveiled ears of a bobcat racing through the tall grass to fetch its prey, deer meshed in w/ the landscape as they fed, bunnies swooped across our path into the thick lush landscape. Everything seemed to flourish all around us! I'm already planning our next visit! Thanks

We spend a week at Quail's Nest last December. The location could not have been better: within walking distance to 2 beaches, Carmel Village and Carmel Mission; within easy access to grocery stores, gas stations and Hwy 1 for day trips to Big Sur and Monterey Bay. The cottage is adorable. The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with coffee and other basics. The bed had a plush duvet, plenty of pillows and extra blankets. If you enjoy wildlife there is a blue scrub jay who visits the backyard and is fond of peanuts. We liked to sit on the sunny back patio with our morning coffee and hang out with the blue jay. We could not have asked for a lovelier place to spend our first visit to Carmel. The natural beauty of the area is almost magical and the house was a perfect base for exploring and a comfortable place to return to afterwards. Will definitely recommend to others!

This was not my first time to the Quail's Nest and certainly won't be my last. The home is absolutely perfect and has everything you need. I love waking up in the mornings and opening the door to feed the blue jay and walking down to the beach for a long beautiful walk. The location is great and we ended up walking to dinner one night in the dark which was quite an adventure but there was a flashlight to help guide our way. The fireplace is so great to light on a cold night and the quietness that surrounds the Quail's Nest allows for a great deal of R & R. I can not say enough wonderful things about this enchanting and magical place.
