“A Slice of Heaven in the Old Style Caribbean”
It's not often that we build a vacation around an accommodation, but once I found Chris's Carriacou home on Trip advisor, that's exactly what we did. When we travel, we prefer to rent homes within a community that we can feel a part of, and that is what "No Worries" offers. Even after having seen the photos, our jaws still dropped at the views while we shook Dexter's hand upon arrival. The house lives up to it's name, as not long after we arrived, Chris gave us a call to make sure everything was as it should be. He had been in constant communication with us in the months leading up to our vacation, doing his best to answer any and all queries. The house is very well designed to be compact and unobtrusive, yet well appointed and comfortable. We loved the fact that depending on the trade winds, sun, etc., relaxing outdoor living / viewing was found on either the windward or leeward side. We soon felt at home in the neighborhood of Bel air, and appreciated that a friendly wave and greeting were always cheerfully returned. It was easy to walk into Hillsborough for groceries, or a meal, then catch either one of the many 15 passenger van taxis or buses back to Bel air. If you want pampered luxury, swim up hotel bars, and a party-all-night bar scene, then Carriacou is likely not for you. If you want a chance to connect with some genuine, warm, helpful people that want to retain their cultural traditions; if you want to spend time on some gorgeous white sand beaches lapped at by clear, warm water; if you want a chance for a slower pace to enjoy colorful houses and scenery, then Carriacou is for you. We got that, and loved it. Highlights of our trip included the idyllic boat trip to Tobago Cays through Dave Goldhill; 2 wonderful meals at Bogles Round House, Paradise and anse La Roches Beaches, and the Maroon & String Band Festival, last weekend in april, and gaining new friends in Denny and Donlyn, caretakers of the property, who have a terrific young family.
“Words cant do it justice”
I have to reiterate words (or pictures) cant do it justice. The views from the No Worries property are absolutely unbelievable. The house it self is one of the most unique and amazing houses I have ever had the privage of visting. Chris has everything set up perfectly so that your vacation is exactly as advertised "no worries". My stay was absolutely flawless and I never found myself wishing things had been set up differently or that it could be better. The house has everything you could possibly need and is very well furnished with comfortable beds, hammocks, outdoor seating and a fully functional kitchen. we ended up hosting a small dinner party with about a dozen people who we met on the island and the house worked wonderfully. Since leaving I keep finding myself fantasizing about my return, and I will definitely be going back. If you do end up here make sure you visit gails rum shack just down the road. you are sure to meet some good people there who would love to share some jack iron (local rum) with you and here your story.

Patrick- So glad you enjoyed your stay at our house. You fit right into the village scene and I'm sure I will have people asking about you when I go back down there. I'll say hi to Gail and crew for you. I wish I had been at that dinner party. I'm sure you must have had a cast of characters. Can't wait to have you down at No Worries again. All the best- Chris

“Looking to relax? No Worries is the place!”
We just returned to the frozen tundra after a wonderfully warm and relaxing week on the island of Carriacou. Patty and Chris have a delightfully quirky and comfortable home that had everything we needed, both indoors and outside, to make our stay hassle free. The views, gentle breeze, and fabulous bird life kept us outdoors at No Worries for all but when we were cooking or sleeping. Each day we walked to the village of Hillsborough or to one of the many pristine sandy beaches. We didn't bother to rent a car and instead enjoyed using the local bus system (a great way to get a handle on the local scene) during the days or calling the taxi driver recommended by Chris for the nights we went out to dinner at one of the many excellent island restaurants. It was refreshing to be on an island that was not over run with tourists or businesses offering all the same things that we could find at home. We loved talking with the people who live in Carriacou, especially the children. My one disappointment was that the snorkeling was not as diverse and colorful as I have seen elsewhere, but I think that is being picky. The beaches were the best I've been on and the water was perfect for swimming. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at No Worries.

Kim- So glad you and your husband enjoyed your stay at No Worries. We too spend most of our time outdoors when at the house. Sorry you weren't able to see anything memorable on your snorkeling adventures. You must take a trip to the Tobago Cays the next time you come down. Chris

“Magique, exceptionnel, à refaire !”
We spent 2 weeks at No Worries , and it was a really special experience . Upon arrival, we were very tired from the long trip , and the person who greeted us offered to bring us food , which was very much appreciated ! The location of the house, on top of a hill, gives extraordinary views windward and leeward. Home, all in roundness , seems to come from a magical world . It is simple, practical, comfortable, and beautiful . The recovery system of rainwater is very ingenious. The natural air conditioning provided by the wind makes it a very pleasant place , even during the hottest hours of the day ! We were traveling with a 7 month old , and the owner , Chris Pierson, in everything that we should be very well installed. He even acquired a baby bed especially for us , which saved us a binding transport! We felt pampered. He was very responsive to help us better. This is a very 'friendly' , as all the people of the island. It is truly a magical place , wonderful scuba diving, heavenly beaches , and a population of great kindness ... We rented a car to explore the island, because it was easier for us with a baby, and we like to go off the beaten path , but there is also a very good taxi service at a very fair price. In addition, there are several very good restaurants on the island, which is important :) A little jewel , keep in the right places !

Johanne- You and your family fit right into island life. Donlyn loved taking care of your baby. I hope that gave you had respite from parenting and the two of you enjoyed some time just by yourselves. Shirley from the Grand View hotel let us borrow the crib for you. She is such a sweetheart. Hope you had a chance to eat breakfast or dinner there. I'm trying to get Flipkey to translate your review to English so the mono-lingual anglophones can enjoy it too. Hope you can make it back again sometime. Chris

“Best views in the Caribbean!”
This is a magical quirky house in a beautiul position on a lovely unspoiled island. From booking to arrival Chris was very attentive and full of good advice. arranged for taxi collection at the ferry and we were able to get provisions on the way.His property manager met us at the house and again very helpful. The house and 270 deg views blew us away, and with friendly neighbours, a couple of their dogs visiting, humming birds in the pleasant garden we wished we could have booked for longer. Although the location is quite rural taxis and buses are so reasonable, and the walking good that a car seemed unnecessary.we were Island hopping for 6 weeks and found some lovely locations but this was one of the highlights.

Lea and Sue- So glad you included a stay at No Worries on your southern Caribbean tour. It seems that everybody that has stayed at our house always wishes they had planned to stay longer. Maybe next time. Just had some new cushions made for the couch. Although we have never had guests complain about it, I just never thought it was that comfortable. I want our guests(and us) to be able to camp out on the couch with both windows wide open. You'll feel like you're outdoors. This is especially important if somebody else has already claimed the hammock. Hope you can make it back sometime. Cheers- Chris
Wow. What an incredible house & location. I should stop there, but can't. My wife and I stayed at No Worries for a week this February, as part of a two week trip to Grenada. First, the views...The pictures posted do capture just how incredible they are. I really believe it is among the finest 360 degree views you will find anywhere. And, in most of the other places with great views, when you are done looking, you must hike, drive, or take the cable car back down. It is unlikely you will ever get to actually "live" in another place with views like this. The house: Most people owning land like this would have built a home that made sure all below would prominently see it; and, the locals would call it the eyesore. That is not the case here. It fits very tastefully into the landscape, almost imperceptible. That actually disappointed us when we wanted to photograph it when coming back from Tobago Cays or when leaving on the Osprey ferry. It just appears as a faint eyebrow on the ridgeline. The home itself is very well designed and certainly unique, and everything worked as it should. Chris was extremely helpful in providing island info and arranged our meet and greet at the little airport; and, his staff made sure all was right during our stay. Quick mention of the island, and people of Carriacou...It is like stepping back in time. Laid back is an understatement. There are however many "rum shops" and plenty of good places to eat and take it all in. Paradise Beach and Sandy Island are both great. Lastly, the people of Carriacou are the nicest you will find anywhere. In fact, visitors from urban areas are likely to be startled by having total strangers say hello, or wave at you as you drive by.

Jim- So glad to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay at our house, Carriacou and the wonderful people who live on the island. It's our dream house in an unbelievable location. I think you must have meant to say the pictures on the listing do not capture how incredible the views are. Every time I'm there I try to get a better shot but have still not been able to capture the whole panorama. It's comforting for us to hear how much you enjoyed our neighbors and people of Carriacou. They are some of our best friends, so welcoming, honest and sincere. Hope you get a chance to come back and visit sometime. Chris

“A piece of paradise”
Two of us stayed at the Hobbit House for a week in February to mark my 60th. Awesome views, cool breeze, all necessary amenities, wonderful sunsets and dawns, friendly neighbours and support team. Chris could not have been more helpful or responsive before and during the hire. He kindly arranged Linky to meet us off ferry, who provided cheap runaround car hire, making remote beaches easily accessible - Anse La Roche well worth the 15 minute hike, signposted off dirt road midway between Bogles and Gun Point. Don't tell anyone about it! Paradise Beach and HardWood Bar & Snackette there were favourites. Laid back outlook of all people there was a tonic. Bogles restaurant lunch was excellent - their garden is better that Hillsborough Botanical ground. Lazy Turtle pizzas at Tyrrel Bay were great. Visiting red macaw was beautiful. Well worth the effort to reach this remote slice of paradise, Thanks Chris for sharing!

John- I'm so glad you and Susan enjoyed your stay at our house. You definitely got the island "vibe". It's difficult to explain it to people before they experience it. When you return for your 65th birthday you may have to stay in our guest bedroom as hopefully my wife and I will have finally been able to move there. All the best- Chris
“A unique house. A unique experience!”
I don't know where to begin raving about No Worries. The pictures give a good idea of the house and setting, but the reality exceeded all expectations. It is a destination in and of itself. The look on my husband's face when we drove up was priceless (he hadn't seen the photos). Chris could not have been more helpful in making travel suggestions and ground transportation arrangements on both Carriacou and Grenada. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and you could spend days never leaving the property and still enjoy a wonderful Caribbean experience. We opted not to rent a car and had no difficulties getting any where. While you can catch a bus at the end of the driveway, the walk to town is all down hill (I admit we never did walk back up!) We even walked all the way to Bogle's Round House for lunch one day. The buses are great fun and go almost everywhere, and I strongly suggest taking one or two even if you do rent a car, otherwise you will miss out on a huge part of the local culture. The roads may seem steep and curvy, but there are very few other vehicles on the road, which makes walking and bus rides much safer. You can kayak at both Tyrell Beach and Paradise Beach. Walking/hiking suggestions are anse LaRoche Beach, Belair Forest, and the dirt road from Bogles to Petit Carenage (keep walking toward Windward, and you will find a bus to take you home--except on Sunday when very few buses run). Carriacou is a quiet, gentle island, great for families and for couples, with enough to keep you busy or relaxing for how ever long you stay. I never stopped marveling at the beauty and uniqueness of No Worries, and I fell in love with the island and its people. If you get a chance to stay at No Worries, do not pass it by.

Margaret- I'm so glad to hear the you and your husband enjoyed your stay at our house and also Carriacou, both very special spots. There are many times when I'm there that I just see no need in leaving the house too. I never knew you could rent a kayak at Paradise Beach. I can't wait to do that. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Best Regards- Chris
“Truely a "No Worries" experience!”
One of the most relaxing, scenic, hassle-free holidays we've had! Chris was always responsive and available for questions before and after we arrived. He arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport and we were met at the house by some wonderful neighbours who showed us around and made sure we were settled in. The views from the house in all directions are breath-taking and there is always a comfortable breeze. The house is very well-equipped, so very easy to cook meals and try some local dishes. We often walked the short distance into Hillsborough for groceries or a meal and took a taxi or the local bus back up the hill. Snorkelling with some sea turtles, hiking into remote beaches, eating a wonderful New Years Eve dinner at the Round House restaurant and just hanging out at the house in the hammocks made for a memorable holiday for our family of four. My teen-aged girls loved it. Highly recommend! Thanks Chris.

Linda- I'm so glad you and your family had such a wonderful time at our house and on Carriacou. It's a special house on a special island. I do hope you can come back again as there is so much more to see and do....and the cloud formations are always changing when you're laying in one of the hammocks. Best Regards- Chris

“A magical place”
Our family of 5 enjoyed a wonderful week at this amazing hobbit house. The scenery is breathtaking, the neighbours are welcoming, and the people of the island are as relaxed and friendly as they come. The building design is unique and truly charming...one of a kind! The views are so spectacular and the breezes blowing through are so lovely that you can spend the best day ever just hunkered down in one of the two hammocks, taking in the peace and beauty. The goats and roosters give that added rural flavour. If you want to go to town for fresh food or to the beach for some awesome snorkelling, you're just a nice walk downhill or a local mini bus ride away, both great experiences. This is a perfect spot to unwind and spend quality time with family or friends. Thanks Chris and Patty for sharing your special place with us! We hope to return.
