You will be minutes from all the major attractions of the Pikes Peak region with numerous trails surrounding you. In fact the trail head for the Ute Pass Regional Trail, which serves as a component of the American Discovery trail, sits right outside our front door and is an easy trail leading to the quaint little mountain Town of Green Mountain Falls, the Falls in Green Mountain Falls, and onto the Pikes Peak National Forest.
In summary the house is two stories high but is built on a small slope by the stream so both the top and main level are directly accessible from the outside on “ground” level. The house has a large deck with outdoor seating and dining areas, a patio with seating and dining areas, 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one with a 2 person Jacuzzi Tub, one a normal tub, and one a walk in shower with floor to ceiling tile), a 4 person sauna, 3 fire aresa, two 50" HDTV’s with the HD TV channels package including favorites such as ESPN and HBO, and our pine paneled family room with a fireplace and a flat panel 55” HDTV with PlayStation 3. The house is equipped with a fast 20MB high speed wireless internet package.
Three of the bedrooms are equipped with a European style bed which can be made into either two twin size beds or these can be made up together as a king size bed depending on your preference so it is possible to rent it with a king, queen, log bunks, and three more king beds OR six twin size beds whatever combination you prefer.
In more detail on the top level overlooking the stream with a large deck outside is the Jacuzzi Suite Master Bedroom. It is set up as a suite with a king size log bed and French doors between the bedroom and the sitting area with a wood burning stove and 50” HDTV in the sitting area. It is also possible to use a small extra bedroom with a set of log bunk beds in the bedroom next to this suite but please note that the interior passage to this extra bedroom is via the main suite sleeping area so it is better suited for small children. This suite has a bathroom with a 2 person Jacuzzi brand whirlpool bathtub. The second bedroom has the European style bed, and the third has a queen size bed and in the living room there is a queen size Lazy-z-Boy sofa sleeper. There is a full “Gourmet” kitchen complete with a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, Convection Oven, and dishwasher. The laundry room has a new top of the line LG large capacity, front loading, high efficiency washer and dryer that is perfect for cleaning up after time in the mountains or stream.
On the lower ground level there are two additional bedrooms and a bathroom with floor to ceiling tile and a walk in shower. Both of the two bedrooms are set up with European style beds that can either be made up separately as two twin beds or they can be made up together as a King Size bed so you can either have two additional King Beds or four single beds or any combination thereof. The family room is a beautiful wood paneled room with a fireplace and a 55” flat panel HDTV. It has a PlayStation 3 which has a Blue Ray Player along with a couple games including one of the top rated games of the year.. The bathroom although not handicap accessible is friendly for those with movement challenges as it has a walk in shower and is easy to move around in.
Post Fire and Flood Update - Although the June 2012 fire came close you cannot tell it was ever there. A month after the fire in July 2012 there was a huge thunder storm that dumped over an inch of rain in less than an hour over the burn area a mile from our house. This massive amount of water over the burn area was more than the area could absorb after the burn and since our home sits where Sand Creek (a normally dry creek) joins the year round Fountain Creek our home was hit by a wall of water about 2 feet high. We have had many rainstorms that have dropped as much as a couple inches of rain in a day and there has been no flood damage to the house since July 2012 however if another huge rainstorm comes over the burn area another flood is expected until the burn area vegetation has regrown, a process that takes a number of years.
The Colorado Flash Flood “Season” officially runs from April 1 to September 30th but these floods can happen at any time. We have been advised that the peak months for possible flash floods are July and August. To help protect against this we have put into place a barrier to help divert water around the home which will help reduce a little bit the threat in the future. We have also installed NOAA emergency weather alert radios in each Area to warn you if there is a large rainstorm that could cause a flash flood.TripAdvisor property ID 2382852...Read more

In January 2015 our family decided to plan a vacation so that we would all be together at least once during the year as our youngest daughter now lives 33 hours away from the majority of the family. During the planning the middle daughter decided that she would have a destination wedding during our vacation. We chose Colorado Springs and began to search on Flipkey. Tim's rental was perfect for several grown families and a great value. A few miles down the road is Pikes Peak and the Garden of the gods. Manitou Springs is a few miles away and we spent a day there shopping and playing games in the arcade. The house has several sitting areas close to bedrooms which helped eveyone fill they could stretch out. The outside deck areas were tremendous (several) and we all enjoyed grilling several nights. The washer/dryer was useful and helped us not pack so much for the flight. The women of the family joined together using the kichenaid mixer saving several dollars each day while the men grilled . Although 30 minutes from Colorado Springs, it is a simple easy drive. One day we drove into the city to tour 'Focus on the Family" which we all loved. Tim made booking and finding the property easy and we had no reason to call him during our stay at his property as everything was perfect. The best thing about the property was the trail in front of his home that takes you into another little town. Several people run or walk the trail into an adjoining town. The small town has a couple of shops and restaurants with a drive through library at the end of the trail where locals drop off books or take a book to read... After our wedding at Red Rocks, our family enjoyed a meal at "The Fort" pricy but great first time visit with a unique menu and beautiful views. We recommend this property to anyone needing room for extended family units.

We attended a wedding in Colorado Springs and decided to rent a home that would accommodate our entire family. We had 9 people in the home and with 6 bedrooms we had more than ample beds available. The kitchen is small but well equipped. There are 2 living room/family room areas and a den, so everyone could be together or split up as they desired. The location worked well for us as the wedding was at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We wanted to be located close enough to the wedding location yet be but in a country setting. We were able explore Pike’s Peak, Cripple Creek, Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. This worked well for our entire family.

I traveled with a group of friends for a long weekend. Needed a pretty good sized place that could sleep 7 to 8 people. Although the house was set up for families, the owner accommodated our individual sleeping needs by moving things around so that we had 8 individual beds. That was great. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Everything works like it should and there are two coffee pots with coffee grounds available. Nice! Cell phone service was a little weak, but the WiFi connection was great. There is also a small printer/copier available, but we couldn't get it to work for our boarding passes. The house is a little hard to find at first, but after the first time, we found it with no problems.
