Description
The Villas at Podernuovo are in a picturesque valley just below the village of Castel Del Piano on the slopes of Monte Amiata , halfway between Rome and Florence and less than an hour south of Siena.
We have two villas available for rental, Il Seccatoio (which was an old chestnut drying house) and Casa Vecchia (which was the original farmhouse on the property) both Villas have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and lounge area plus laundry and lockup garages. The large outside portico areas with barbeques overlook the vineyard and olive grove and provide views to the nearby hilltop towns of Montegiovi, Castel Del Piano and Montelaterone. Both Villas have been restored and rebuilt, using the original stone, hand made roof tiles and chestnut beams, providing modern amenity whilst maintaining their rustic style. Both have furniture made by local craftsmen using chestnut timber grown in the area.
The owners Umberto & Alvina live in the third Villa on the property and are on site to welcome you and ensure that your stay is a memorable experience. wine and olive oil from the farm are provided along with other produce in season from the kitchen garden and fresh eggs from the chickens.
