“Paradise” We stayed at MoodLight Kai condo the first week of april 2014. It was a magical experience being in Cayman Island for the first time. The condo is very modern and comfortable with a beautiful beach view right from the living room couch. There was no excessive noise or biting insects, the beach is very close and if you are feeling too lazy to go anywhere you can just lounge on the beach in front of the condo or soak in the jacuzzi. We had an excellent time and would definitely go back for another family vacation.

“A private beach to watch sunrise and sunset.” We were at Cayman cottage this past February and our only mistake was staying such a short time (5 nights). It was so beautiful and restful. The property is very private and well stocked. It was clean and organized, with a large and airy living room, eating area, kitchen and very comfortable bed. Just outside there is a pleasant eating area and hammock. We loved sitting on the beach to watch sunrise or sunset. We also enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the property, which felt very safe and private. Sue was very pleasant and so helpful. We found that we could manage without having rented a car; we were able to walk to stores and restaurants and walk to rent bikes at the Scuba Shack. When we return we may rent a car for a few days to explore the Island more; some of the bike rides felt very long given the single speed bikes and the head winds. We are also tempted to return and learn to scuba dive. Sue's property is ideal for a couple, and also for two or three friends, or a family of three. Wherever we ventured each day, we were always so glad to come home to Cayman cottage and settle in for the evening. We did not grill but everything was there if we had wanted to do so. It felt like we had our own private place on Cayman Brac although we were visitors. We hope to return in the future.

"A Mid-Winter Night's Dream" Grand Cayman Oceanfront, Quiet, Secluded, Rum Point

North Side apartment

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Winter Getaway” This was not our first trip to Grand Cayman and we are very familiar with the island and what is available by way of accommodation. We have always been partial to the North Side. It offers the peace and tranquillity that you cannot find on 7 Mile Beach and “A Mid-Winter Night’s Dream” has definitely offered us the best experience so far. The condo was as described, very clean and so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Definitely the best unit in the complex. We had a direct unobstructed view of the ocean and although we had planned to eat dinner at nearby restaurants, we spent most evenings dining on the lanai listing to the sounds of the ocean. Great snorkeling, very private beach and surrounding area. My husband and I highly recommend this property. Many thanks to the Lang family for sharing and a special thanks to Dan, it was a pleasure dealing with you.

“Beautiful, peaceful, relaxation!” My wife and I stayed at Sea Beauty last month with our son, his wife and our 14 year old grandson. Owners Cathy and Jerry Frazier met us at the door with the keys and gave us a complete walk-thru and instructions for the house. Nothing was left to be desired at Sea Beauty. It has been completely remodeled and appointed with only the best, leaving nothing to be needed. Sea Beauty is an ideal location, about 20 minutes to the shops and restaurants of George Town and 20 minutes to our favorite place on the island,Rum Point on the north side. The best part of Sea Beauty is its 300 feet of private beach with great snorkeling and swimming, and especially the hammocks under the sea grape trees, always in the shade overlooking the white sandy beach. This has to be one of the most relaxing, beautiful places anywhere! Also, it is only about 20 minutes to a full-service grocery store and five minutes to two nice restaurants, especially The Lighthouse, less than two miles away. We can't say enough about this beautiful home, renovated in the classic Cayman cottage style, and the helpfulness of Jerry and Cathy. They even supplied us with cell phones with pre-programmed phone numbers for certain services. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful paradise!

“perfect getaway for island living” My husband & I had decided to take our 3 teenagers for their first trip abroad and their first beach/ocean vacation, and a number of factors led us to choose Grand Cayman. We absolutely did not want the "resort" experience, which tends to be largely the same no matter where the resort is located. After extensive research my husband found Frank's villa and this place is what made our vacation unforgettable. The north side of the island is much quieter than the Georgetown/Seven Mile Beach area where all the cruise ships land, and it has a more unspoiled beauty. Although there were residents in the other villas, we almost always had the beach to ourselves and some of the best snorkeling on the island was right out back. Every evening the kids researched new snorkel sites to try out, and with every new site they made the same comment: "Our" backyard has better snorkeling. The fact that they considered it "our" backyard speaks to the homeyness of this villa--Frank & Del have truly thought of everything and our stay was very comfortable. I want to also point out that our family always tries to rent a house when we travel--with 2 teen boys and a teen girl, having a house is so much more enjoyable than staying at a hotel--and this is the best experience we've ever had. Frank & Del have gone out of their way to set up the villa so that any guest can enjoy it to its fullest, and Frank was a wealth of information prior to our trip. I really kept thinking he would tire of my husband's seemingly endless questions, but Frank provided so much information about the island that we were able to plan an absolutely amazing adventure!

“A perfect vacation!” The second spring time vacation we had at villa caymanas. When arriving, the view entering the front door blows me away each time I arrive. Property is well maintained and everything was super clean. Private ocean side back yard made it great for relaxing. House has everything you need and some extras. We drove most days to Rum Point Beach( 10 minute drive) to relax, great beach. Spent a few days never leaving the property as we grilled fish we bought from local fisherman at the docks. With the big group we had, the villa suited us perfectly as there was plenty of room inside and out. I liked best the privacy and location of the house, we enjoy getting away from it all and this place gave us that. Worst part about the house is saying good bye.

“Paradise Found” This was our first time to Grand Cayman Island. We were very excited to go as a family for the first time to the Caribbean. We usually like to vacation at destinations that are not too “touristy” so we decided to stay away from the seven mile beach strip, since we heard that was very busy. We are so grateful that we found this wonderful townhome at Rum Point. Starboard Kai was very tastefully decorated, really clean and very well stocked. They even had a complimentary water cooler for us which were so helpful. They had three kayaks with life jackets, bikes (which we never got a chance to use), laundry in the unit (just make sure you bring your own HE laundry detergent), dvd player (I am not sure if we saw any dvds, but we hardly watched any TV since were had full days), coffee maker, spices, pool towels, beach toys. The only thing we needed was food, that’s how well stocked this place was. It was so nice to be right across from a Rum Point where our boys could play in the water, without worrying about waves. The location is superb, since you have the beach right in front of the condo and the beautiful bioluminescent bay in the back. It was so nice to lounge in the lanai and see the bay. From the living room and office you had nice views of the ocean of Rum Point. Many beautiful parrots, roosters and iguanas to see here, which was really neat! We did venture towards Seven mile beach and other areas of interest but wished we had just spent more time at our home base Starboard Kai. We checked out all the top beaches on the island and found our location to be #1. Janice the owner was a delight to work with; she really goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests. We also found Bob Wagner, the property manager very helpful as well. They truly excel in customer service and were very responsive to any issue we had. We loved going to the recommended restaurants. Loved our day at Sting Ray city, with Red Sail Sports which to sign up is right across the street and leaves from Rum Point’s pier. We really liked the blue iguana sanctuary nearby. We also have great memories of feeding the ‘Pirate’ Frigate birds at Tukka, a restaurant on the east end. Going to get sticky toffee pudding and seeing the Tarpons at Calypso Grill was fantastic as well. Would highly recommend this to others and have. When we got back we showed my friends and family and were amazed how beautiful everything was. Hoping to go back soon!

“Great Cayman Experience!!” We just finished our 1-week vacation at Just For Fun. The cute cottage certainly lived up to our expectations. Our family cooks three meals a day at home. The kitchen and new grilling area work perfectly. The kitchen has lots of extras that make cooking anything from a quick breakfast to a gourmet meal a breeze. Plus the wet bar with the wine fridge makes for a great flow of traffic. The outside area, with a pool, deck and a screened in porch is perfect. We ate every meal outside, either in the shade or by the pool. Plus there is a cute thatched hut with 4 showers in it for that quick rinse off after a swim in the ocean or a dive. This cottage would really be perfect for a locals getaway to the North Side. It has a great dock and it is very quiet. We will be back, Steve

“The best vacation my spouse and I ever shared!!” Our first trip to the Brac was the best experience we have ever shared together. The warm hospitality of the Ryan family was boundless. Our anniversary gift from the Ryan family was spent purchasing snorkeling gear. I can't thank them enough for a vacation we will never forget. The villa was situated about 50 ft. from the ocean with spectacular snorkeling and sunsets. The villa was a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath and comfortable. The fishing was abundant with the native camaynians as a guide. We chose this island for the lack of tourists and the privacy for our 34th anniversary. We are hopefully returning to the Brac in February 2014.

“Phenomenal experience!!” We stayed at this property in February 2012 and from the warm greeting at the airport to the beautifully decorated and well equipped condo, we had an extremely comfortable and relaxing holiday! We can't thank the owner, Morne, enough for the exceptional service, accommodations and overall experience at his property in the Cayman Islands! We travelled to the Island with our toddler and Morne made our packing and travel very light and easy by providing all things baby related - we didn't need to bring a stroller or even any toys. Our son was absolutely spoiled with a full sized crib, adorable bedding, a huge selection of toys and even a highchair. Having everything at the condo waiting for us was an absolute treat! Morne was always available to us by phone and email - he was very quick to respond to any questions or requests. The grounds and pool were expertly maintained and always clean. The condo is located just a short walk from the beach - which we usually had all to ourselves. This property truly made our vacation feel like a peaceful getaway with a private beach. We felt extremely spoiled and well cared for during our time at this property and truly thank Morne for his exceptional hospitality (and apologize for how incredibly over-due this review is)! Almost a year later and we still think back on our amazing time there and can't wait to go back some day!

“Relaxing week at the beach” This well kept home is as nice as the pictures. For folks who like to be away from the hustle of 7 Mile Beach this location is ideal. It can be a long drive to Georgetown, but with restaurants at Kaibo, Lighthouse, and Morrit's nearby, you can spend a whole relaxing week without a lot of time behind the wheel. The property manager, Chloe, was on site to greet us when we arrived, and we received a warm Cayman welcome. Chloe helped us arrange a phone to make some necessary telephone calls and she made sure we had everything we needed. It would be nice to have a kayak or two since that is a popular activity in this area. But other than that the house and visit were perfect.

“Best. Vacation. Ever. Amazing. Beautiful. Relaxing.” Great Escape is a beautiful home in the perfect location. A truly luxurious property with an amazing pool and a short walk to Rum Point Beach, which is fantastic. I can't say enough about the house, the pool, the beach, the island. It truly was a perfect vacation. Although it is a drive to the other side of the island, we preferred the relaxing, quiet and island feel of Cayman Kai. The photos of Great Escape are very accurate except honestly I think the pool is bigger than it looks in the photos. Grand Cayman Villas handled our reservation in a professional, timely and courteous manner. They answered all of my questions promptly. They provided lots of information about the island, the property, restaurants, car rentals, etc. Upon arrival there were a couple minor issues (not worth mentioning) but the Villa Manager answered my call immediately and things were taken care of within 20 minutes. The owners of the property were a pleasure to deal with as well. We received an email from them before our stay with helpful information about the property and the island. We spoke by phone and met in person briefly on arrival. They were nothing but helpful and friendly. Highly recommend Great Escape and Grand Cayman Villas. It might be a few years but we will definitely be back.

Castaway Cove: Tropical Beachfront Villa with Superb Snorkeling and Coastal

North Side house

“Great Villa” We loved Castaway Cove. It is very clean. The kitchen is totally equipped with everything you need. Other renters left things so we did as well. The beach towels and cooler was great. We used them every day. The grill wasn't the best but served our purpose for the one time we grilled. It is very quiet so sleeping was no problem. One morning there was a bulldozer clearing the lot next door. So there was that noise. Not a good swimming beach. Lots of sea grass. We saw some wierd things in the shallow water so my daughter and I wouldn't swim in it. The bedroom were very comfortable. The showers were great. A problem we did have was at night when we wanted to go out on the dock in the cabana to have a drink there was a couple fishing. The first night they scared us. The woman came running up saying they lived across the road and had permission to use it. We thought okay but didn't think they would return since it was clear we were renting it. Well, sure enough they were there again the next night. My husband called the next day and mentioned this and they didn't come after that. But, there were two nights we couldn't use it. You would think they would have stayed away when the villa was rented out. The other thing we didn't like was the sea grass. It was so high you couldn't swim over it. We didn't feel comfortable walking through it because we saw stingrays and some sea creatures we have never seen before and didn't know if they stung.

“A Grand Cayman Pearl for quiet enjoyment” We contacted the owner on line and received instant reponse to our inquiries and when we arrived at our designated time for a month we found everything that we had anticipated and more. The interior is bright and tropical and the kitchen was well equipment to accommodate whatever we decided to cook in house. The beds are comfortable and located so you can see, hear and smell the tropics. The snorkling off the beach is awesome when the water is calm and there are numerous sites within a short drive.Wifi TV and stereo were all there if you wished to use them. A vehicle is a must to get to enjoy the sites and venues of the island and to taste the Cayman cuisine. The management staff were at your instant call when needed. We would recommend this location and look forward to our return with family in the near future. Wayne & Mary Jane Dennis, Canada

About Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are a British protectorate and are considered one of the most exclusive destinations in the Caribbean. Famous for their stunning natural beauty, the Cayman Islands have a tropical marine climate, making for warm and rainy summers and dry, mild winters. Most visitors elect to come here between October and April to escape the cold weather of the northern climates and take advantage of the Caymans' celebrated beauty.

Some of the major attractions and activities in the Cayman Islands include:

  • The Sister Islands: While Grand Cayman dominates most visitors' itineraries, the so-called "Sister Islands" of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac are perfect for those seeking a quieter, more private holiday.
  • George Town: The islands' capital city, George Town has an engaging and fascinating history, and it is well worth taking a tour of the city's many sights and points of interest.
  • Seven Mile Beach: Located on Grand Cayman, Seven Mile Beach is one of the most-developed corners of the Cayman Islands. Stroll the boardwalks, relax at a beachfront bar and take advantage of the excellent restaurants and lively nightlife. This area is the perfect setting for Cayman Islands weddings and Cayman Islands honeymoons.
  • Deep-sea diving: With crystal clear waters and mysterious coral reefs, the Cayman Islands offer some of the best scuba diving in the world. Diving enthusiasts from all over the globe come here in search of the ultimate experience.
  • Golf: Cayman Islands golf courses rank among the best in the Caribbean, and the weather is always perfect for teeing off. Club and equipment rentals are widely available and affordable, so you don't have to worry about lugging along your own gear.

Instead of cramping into a hotel room, relax in style in your very own vacation rental. A beachfront villa, a condo in George Town or an apartment on the coast makes the ideal alternative to traditional accommodations at affordable prices.

The islands lie less than 100 miles to the south of Cuba, and are also perfectly situated to continue your journey in Puerto Rico. As a popular port of call, it's also easy to get from the Cayman Islands to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and many other Caribbean nations.

Absolutely beautiful home and beach!

Beautiful beach home on the quieter end of the island. Snorkeling right outside your door. Close to Rum point , Starfish beach , and nice restaurants. Would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a great place to get some much needed rest and relaxation. Only thing I wish that was different, was that there wasn't enough dresser or closest space to fully unpack out of our suitcases in the two smaller bedroom.see more

Recent Stay

We loved the location of this condo. It’s a quick walk to the beach and shopping and restaurants. It’s a quite complex, which we enjoyed. It was 4 adults for our stay, I would say this condo is better suited for a family. The 2nd bedroom upstairs is not really set up for a couple and the bathroom and shower are not ideal for anyone over 5’7. It could benefit from a full length mirror and TV in the bedroom upstairs. It could use some attention, the walls needed painted or scrubbed, the master bathroom was missing a towel rack, the closet doors where the washer and dryer are located are very hard to open. With all that said, I would recommend this unit to anyone visiting Grand Cayman. It’s a great value and location.see more
