If your group has different travel personalities and must-do checklists for your Cayman vacations, look no further than Kai Rumba. A one-sized-fits all beachfront villa, this 3-bedroom, 3-bath haven by the sea in Cayman Kai will impress guests of all stripes.
Active travelers who like a little adventure on vacation will head straight for the trio of colorful kayaks included with the rental. Even life vests (4 of them) are provided. Launch into the shallow and still North Sound, where the color and clarity of the water defies belief. Look straight down to the bottom, where seashells, starfish, and other colorful aquatic life scuttle on the gentle current.
Meanwhile, those who prioritize blissful relaxation on the beach will find heaven here. Picture a hammock strung between two tall palms, fronds swaying in on a warm breeze, and calm water stretching to the horizon in a shimmering blue-green sheet. Or, camp out on a lounge chair by the private pool, taking occasional dips to cool your sun-kissed skin. Grab that dog-eared novel and get ready to spend an afternoon without a single responsibility other than re-applying sunscreen. Newly installed Apple TV and PS3 systems and big, comfy, colorful couches serve as a rainy day backup!
And social butterflies will love Kai Rumba’s proximity to Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill (walking distance!), where you can sip beachfront cocktails, eat Caribbean-infused appetizers with your toes in the sand, and meet the locals and other visitors who gather there. Or make the short drive to the equally popular Rum Point, with its beach bar, restaurant, and watersports outfitter.
Then, everyone can come together for a shared sunset dinner at Kai Rumba. A light-flooded galley kitchen sets the stage for your group’s chefs to work their magic on some fresh seafood from the market. Then, head out to the screened-in outdoor dining table to watch the sun sink while eating a barefoot dinner on the beach.
It’s vacation perfection. And it’s all yours!

Kai Rumba is ideally situated if you are looking for a location somewhat away from the busy part of Grand Cayman. A beautifully landscaped property which allows views of both sunrise and sunset. Nice pool, well suited for 3 couples. Slightly dated, with some maintenance needed. Excellent response to the small problems that arose. Utilities worked well. Close to good restaurants on the north side of the island. Downside: no continuous beach for walking. Overall, wonderful vacation.

the screened patio and pool deck lead right to the sand and the water and it is extremely private. the view is lovely but it is of the sound, not the ocean, fyi. the waters are very calm (no crashing waves) but perfect for young kids. we let our boys (7&8) kayak solo with no worries of boats, waves or current. also is protected from the wind. lots of starfish and even a stingray. very fun and very pretty. downside is that while the layout of the house is wonderful; very open and lots of glass, it is a bit worn . it is on the market so doesn't seem to be a lot of tlc going into it right now. nonetheless it is a nice home and perfect for a family of 4-6. the cayman villa rental agents are awesome and do a great job of handling every thing up front. but onsite, the property manager was unavailable, so any glitches (stuck windows, hornets nest, tv problems) we were on our own. so on my "star" rating, cayman villa rentals is easily 5-stars but onsite service is unfortunately, 1 star.

Kai Rumba is a very attractive villa and accommodated us nicely. The pool was outstanding, the warmest we've ever had! The beach area was nice to look at, but not inviting for swimming. The one thing lacking was maid service, not necessarily daily, but at least once a week for a villa in this price range. (Please note that we have stayed at many villas throughout the Caribbean and all had some sort of maid service) The villa manager, Roy, was very helpful, supplying us promptly with a CD player, which was listed as an amenity but not in the villa when we arrived. We saved a lot of money by cooking "in" several evenings, utilizing the gas grill and the well-equipped kitchen. It is a long drive to the largest grocery store, so plan ahead...it's not a drive you'd want to make daily (sitting by the pool is a much better use of time!) Yes, a vehicle is a must. This is not the villa for you if you are not comfortable following directions and maneuvering round-abouts, all while driving on the "wrong side of the road"! Swimming with the rays is a must...well worth the money. We went out with Captain Jimmy from Rum Point and he was excellent. All in all, it was a wonderful week of R & R...just what we needed!
