Feel cheated and would not bother with this place if you have a baby!

Left on Jun 22, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

My husband and I visited this property with our 8 month old baby for a week. It turns out this was an issue for the landlady as they later on reported to Sykes cottages( through which we booked this cottage) that they were 'never told that we were coming with a baby'. Well, I just think that's a tad ridiculous given that neither the online booking form on sykes expects you to list guests under 2 …

Cosy few days

Left on May 17, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Booked this cottage as an anniversary present for the missus and I. I like Wales and have never ventured into the North and this was located perfectly - Close enough to drive from York and also near some tourist attractions (lake vyrnwy. Pisteal rheader, and the tree of the year 2014).

Upon arrival the house was well kept and really tidy. It was as if we were visiting friends or relatives - it…

Relaxing Birthday hide away

Left on Nov 24, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We recently stayed at 'the barn' for two nights as it was my partners birthday, we were able to take our dog with us which was a great bonus. The owner is very friendly and made us both feel really welcome, she even got my partner a bottle of birthday bubbly and a card which was a lovely gesture. The property is very well kept with everything you need. We found the beds comfortable, the cooking …

Hidden Gem

Left on May 19, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Your review:

A hidden gem which happily for us not many have found yet. The owners Carol, Chris and not forgetting Ross couldn't have been more helpful. The cottage itself was very clean and tidy with all the facilities we needed for our short stay. We were lucky with the weather and it was wonderful to be woken in the morning by the cows mooing in the fields instead of traffic. Peace and …

Ty Bachan is a lovely little cottage near to the centre on Hay on Wye. Very clean and well appointed, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. For me, having a wood burner made the cosy cottage that little bit cosier.

Perfect country holiday

We returned with our family twice a year for eight years, always made to feel completely welcome, simple immaculately clean ,well equipped accommodation ,stunning gardens, plenty of local pubs to dine from. Good positioning for exploring Powys and Shropshire with hill walking a plenty, 6 or 7 national trust properties to visit within an hour drive. We cannot stress how much we would recommend …
