“Memory Making” We loved Cassale Il Sonnino. From the moment we arrived, George made us feel at home. We had a wonderful culinary experience, loved the location and felt pampered and warm at the villa. The great room always had a fire when we awoke to a lavish breakfast. When we came home after spending time in Rome or the wonderful local towns, another fire awaited us. George is a culinary master and takes wonderful pride in his meals. He even provided us with a wonderful cake my sister and I remembered from a trip to Rome 30 years ago. It was a true memory maker of a trip!!!

This vacation home is one of the most beautiful and exclusive settings we ever stayed in. Wonderful interiors, tasteful and luxurious furnishings and unparalleled service with personal touch. The host Irina Marini was very gracious and attentive. She created a very relaxing experience in its unique, fairytale atmosphere that makes you feel like you never left home. Irina's attention to detail is unbelievable. We would love to return to Villa Romana and certainly recommend to anyone who appreciates true comfort and luxury.

Amazing, peaceful, fun getaway

My husband and two children have been lucky to stay at this wonderful villa. Alfonso and Marta were amazing hosts! Alfonso shared his vegetables from the garden with us and we had fresh eggs everyday from the chickens. The pool was a hit and overlooks beautiful peaceful scenery. Lots of room for the kids to run and play on the grounds. The house is well placed and easily accessible to Rome and the beautiful cities around Lake Braccianno. A wonderful retreat after a day of Roman sightseeing

This was our 3rd trip to Rome. The two previous trips, we stayed in Rome. This time we decided to try something different. We are so happy that we did. We had the sights and sounds of Rome during the day and in the evening we went to our retreat to enjoy the wine and snacks that we brought home. Magnificent setting, ideal location, immaculate, great host and staff

This past October, we were traveling with friends who wanted a more unique experience than the typical upscale hotel, so looking for a bit of an adventure, we jumped in! The Casale Sonnino was the single most important factor in making the our trip to Rome a success. It's a mansion-like villa that sits in the middle of an active vineyard and olive grove. The setting is inspiring, bucolic, and secure. The Casale itself rests on a foundation that is 2000 years old in parts, but the house is fully modern, spacious and absolutely immaculate. It's a quick trip by train or car into Rome, and a terrific base for exploring the best parts of Italy, namely the historic sites, small towns and vineyards within two hours of Rome. George, the owner, is a wonderful host. He was born, raised, and educated in the US, so he speaks perfect English as well as Italian. He is friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, but never hovers. He frets over every detail, and has a professional staff. We literally couldn't wait to wake up each morning after a good night's sleep in comfortable beds to the waiting breakfast spread overlooking ancient Roman hills. After a long day of sightseeing, we had this beautiful villa to ourselves, including a full kitchen, dining room, and living rooms. These evenings were our favorite part of the trip: we relaxed, ate, drank, talked, surfed the net, and watched a little TV in this incredible mansion. We all agree that the Casale was an excellent value. We got 4-star service, plenty of space and comfort in a place that we could really call home. … see more

Have you been in celebrity's house? Amazing time!!!

We invite our friends from Paris to this house to сelebrate my mother birthday every august. Villa organize everything in advance for us - like boxes with fabulous red wine from famous Toscany estate, some food for the first day and also the local produce from the farmers of local area. Often in the morning, since the Villa is only half an hour drive from Rome, we go to the center and in afternoon we return to the Villa to stay at the pool. Or when is not too hot in morning and if horses are available we go horseback riding. House is very beautiful inside and also so big and altogether everything is so peaceful, pool is also amazing with rather huge garden! When is Party time, maid of the house helps us to set the dinner table in Winter Garden and we all get into the long dresses for the evening. Spacious villa, perfect outdoor space in a beatiful rural setting

we have just enjoyed a wonderful holiday at this villa. The accommodation is spacious with a new swimming pool and well maintained garden outside, equipped with sun beds and outdoor eating area and barbeque. We enjoyed several wonderful day trips to Rome, which is easily accessible by train. Locally there are some great places to visit (around the shore of the lake) and things to do. We visited the castle, some flea markets, took the ferry around the lake and hired paddle boards and kayaks. Great fun for all. Eating out in local restaurants was excellent value. Anna is a helpful and discrete host who really wants you to enjoy your holiday. A car is essential. It is not obvious from the blurb that there is a main holiday rental, plus an additional smaller apartment which could accommodate a further family or be used as a grandparent/nanny annexe. Only outside space is shared so ideal for those who wish to holiday together, but maintain some privacy. … see more
