Douglas Cottage is a grade II listed cottage within the City of Chester, designed by the renowned Architect John Douglas. Being of a fascinating fairytale gothic design it features sandstone faced walls with spires and turrets, an Architect’s dream.
You will immediately be struck by the remarkably high quality of accommodation comprising of:-
A most attractive living room with original mullion windows and outstanding fireplace.
Dining room with heavy oak banqueting table and antique oak furniture and double gothic type doors opening to a lovely patio area.
A pristine superbly equipped kitchen with an adjoining utility area and toilet facilities.
A winding staircase leads to the upper floors which feature three immaculately presented comfortable bedrooms.
Briefly, on the first floor we have the superb master bedroom with a turreted reading area with double Victorian style bedstead. The single bedroom features a cream & brass Victorian style bedstead with a Hypnos pocket sprung mattress. Both rooms share the beautiful main bathroom with shower bath and fully tiled walls.
On the top floor we have the twin bedroom 2 x single beds, which also features a superbly appointed en-suite shower room.

“60th birthday celebrations”
My 3 friends and I received a very warm welcome from Barbara and Andrew when we arrived. They showed us around their beautiful cottage and gave us a quick run down of where things were and how they worked. Douglas Cottage is absolutely beautiful, spotlessy clean and very well equipped. The cottage is also really central, making it easy to walk to the local bars, shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend Douglas Cottage to family and friends
