The Port

The Port is a cliff top lodge above the original Port Robinson on the site of the Harbourmaster's house, so immediate access to the old Port is only a short walk away. Additional Location Information

Coastal, cliff top, uniterrupted ocean views East & North. Frost free climate. A great place to watch the weather from on a stormy day inside by the fire. The Port is 11 kms from the township of CHEVIOT we are not on any main road so it is very private. We are about 2 kms from the wide sandy beach at Gore Bay to the north and about 2 kms from the wild stoney beach of Manuka Bay to the south. For the effort of a one hour drive to the north you can be in the coastal town of Kaikoura where you can go out whale watching or sit and dine by the sea or a one hour drive to the west will take you to the Thermal Regions of Hanmer Springs where you can sit in hot spring water and look up at snow covered peaks or enjoy a beauty spa treatment. The township is well serviced with restaurants, cafes and lodges should you wish to stay over.
