Chincoteague Island is joined to her 'sister' island, Assateague, by a bridge. Chincoteague Island is small in size (less than 2 miles wide by 8 miles long) but big in hospitality! In addition to the friendly 'natives', commonly referred to as "Teaguers", Chincoteague abounds in quaint shops and the freshest seafood possible (including its world famous Chincoteague Oysters).

We loved this house! Our two families live on opposite sides of the states. We haven't vacationed together for five years! We knew we would want elbow space in order to not drive each other crazy, yet we wanted to be together. This was just perfect! Everyone had plenty to keep them busy at the house (pool, kayaking, crabbing, biking, etc.) while those of us seeking down time and quiet were able to find that too on the deck or screened porch. Although this house is not in the hub of the action (if there is such a thing on Chincoteague), it's only a 2.2 mile ride/walk to Maddox avenue. We visited the beach several days for some wonderful sun. We also were fortunate and were on the island during a rocket launch from Nasa's Wallops Island...sooo cool! We hope to return soon!!

We found alotta Fun to be a great vacation house for a week with all the accomodations of being at home and more.
Being right on the water allowed us to use the crab traps to easily catch about 50 Blue Claw Crabs, 40of which were legal 5" keepers. The crabbing was amazing, and really great eating.
We used the canoe to paddle out to assataeque, visit with the wild ponies, and harvest some oysters to roast up for free. Of course, there was an ample supply of life jackets for every size person along with everything needed for canoeing and three 1-person kayaks.
We hiked the trails in the Natural Wildlife Refuge, rode the bikes provided at the house, and took in the avian wildlife that lives there in abundance.
The seafood was great from Gary's Seafood Market, and the Seashell Cafe and Bill's downtown were good places to dine. Hand-made ice cream with waffle cones at The Island Creamery was something not to miss!
We enjoyed the game room with the pool table almost every evening, and the place was clean with comfortable beds.
This is a place you will want to return to again and again.

We all had a wonderful week relaxing and enjoying the water. The house had excellent beds and a user friendly, up to date kitchen. We all had our personal space but there was plenty of room for all of us to get together in one room. Some of us enjoyed sitting on the screened porch while others took out the canoe or played pool. I really enjoyed waking up to freshly made coffee every morning and drinking it outside while watching the birds and smelling the ocean.
“Awesome place for family vacation or group party!”

I have visited this great place with my families twice. Absolutely a great place for a relaxing time with families and friends.
Very nice and clean house for staying. My husband loves the game room, especially the pool-table, while I love the kayaks and canoe they provided so much. It was a fun adventure to explore the neighborhood by kayak！
The place is very close to the beach and park too.
I am considering coming back with a group of friends sometime!
